Allegations of Proxy Voting in Senatorial Election Spark Inquiry
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
So, what was the result? And how many army appointed senators were "re-elected"? They needed to be exiled, not put back into office. Thailand. A nation forever rejecting progress and freedom, and moving in reverse. -
Thai PM Shrugs Off Thaksin’s Criticism of Prawit
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There is no shortage of criticism that can be leveled at that ancient dinosaur. In 9 years he helped to turn the once dynamic tiger of SE Asia into a whiny, skinny, anemic, sickly alley cat. -
Public encouraged to stay vigilant as COVID infections rises
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Very true. The mortality rate is super low. One would appear to have to be very susceptible, to croak from this weak variant. I let it go a couple of years ago. So has most of the world. It actually looks strange when you see someone with a mask these days. How refreshing is that? This has turned out to not be the Zombie Apocalypse. -
Spitting mad: Russian tourist’s traffic light tantrum in Phuket
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Furious Russia. Could and should be the name of the nation. I can only speak from my experience. Have run into alot of Russians both in the US, and on Phuket and Samui, 98% of them seem to be grumpy, unfriendly and gruff. Some of them are downright hostile. Likely a reflection of a very, very rough culture and environment. So, perhaps it is not a coincidence that the world is not standing up to support them and show them kindness? Just an observation. There are a multitude of reasons why very few around the world have sympathy for the Russians. Those reasons are not limited to their serial killing, despot, thieving multi billionaire dictator for life. It is more about their nature, their history as ruthless, homicidal Cossack warriors, and their total lack of manners, and class. Not to mention the dignity, class, decency, civility, and social skills decades of Leninism, Stalinism, and now Putinism has stripped them of. -
Thai Prime Minister Calls Off Controversial 300-Baht Tourism Fee
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It would appear that the business experience Srettha got from selling condos, does not translate to running a government, nor an economy. He gets a D minus so far. Though you have to give him credit for the $800 million smile! -
American Man Swept Into The Sea, Wife And Child Rescued In Phuket
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
You are speaking of swimming skills. Many can swim, but do not possess swimming skills, or are not strong swimmers, nor critical thinkers. That appears to be the case with this man and his lost son. Sometimes a mistake is wearing white after Labor day in NYC to a formal event. Sometimes a mistake is invading Russia, with the winter approaching. This fool gambled with his life and the lives of his family, yet as a parent and spouse, was responsible for protecting them. -
Teen fatally shot by grandfather after constant disruptive gatherings
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
The grandson was staying in grandpa's home. There is a price to be paid for a total lack of respect. Granted, kicking him out of the house would have been preferable. Asking his son to bring the grandson under control, or else you guys are gone, baby gone. But sometimes people just don't listen. -
Move Forward Party Challenges Court's Authority Over Dissolution

Thailand is NOT a democracy. Not even close. There are a few very toxic and extremely greedy parties that prevent that. Pita had the right idea. Change and reform are necessary. -
American Man Swept Into The Sea, Wife And Child Rescued In Phuket
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Totally reckless and callous behavior on the part of this man. The sea can be extremely dangerous and very powerful. Only the strongest swimmers can wage battle against a powerful riptide. Those warnings are there for a reason. This man ignored any sense of caution, and took a huge chance with his son and family. He paid the ultimate price. Most of us would exercise great caution, under those circumstances. It is a tragic outcome but Darwin was right. -
What you think about Asian wife's or Girlfriends
spidermike007 replied to still kicking's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I think a large part of the equation is the erosion of femininity in the west. It has gotten so bad, that masculinity is now considered toxic. This is an existential threat to civilization, no doubt. It is me-too, and uber-feminism that has been the real nuclear bomb to relationships and a woman's ability to express herself, have sex freely, date normally, manifest the incredible dignity within femininity, and relate to men, in a healthy manner. It seems to contribute to an extremely unfulfilled female gender, and has resulted in making life very difficult for most men in the West which has become a romantic Zombieland. Thankfully, little of that toxic nonsense has reached the shores of Thailand. Women here seem to intuitively know how powerful their innate femininity is, and they use it to the fullest. I am very thankful for that. I think many have simply rejected alot of mind numbingly wrong headed Western notions, that women are saddled with. They know where their power lies. The most important aspect of this, that most Western women cannot see, nor understand, is that most Asian women are very comfortable manifesting the dignity and beauty within femininity. For most men, that is incredibly appealing, and a hugely refreshing change from what they have become used to, and learned to tolerate. -
Pit Bull Mixed-Breed Dog Attacks, Seriously Injures Five-Year-Old Girl
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Put this nasty beast down immediately. Anytime a dog savagely attacks a human, it needs to disappear from the face of the planet. No discussion. Pitbulls are notorious. And the owner should be held responsible. The average dog bite cost alot money. A series of rabies shots, etc. And that is assuming someone was not hurt badly, like a small child. So, should we prioritize the health of nasty dogs over the well being of the human population? -
Move Forward Party Challenges Court's Authority Over Dissolution

Who regularly bleed the national economy to continue their corrupt rule of the whole nation. Sounds like evil to me. I am not obsessed. I merely despise those fools. -
Move Forward Party Challenges Court's Authority Over Dissolution

Trumped up charges, by a self appointed administration, the power hungry Thai army, and a monkey court. Pita is not only the man, but he is also the elected PM. Srettha is anything but. He is an imposter.- 21 replies

Do Thai men get jealous we take all the hot women?
spidermike007 replied to MalcolmB's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I think we are a barely perception blip. Unless you are young and very good looking, or young and wealthy, or older and very wealthy, most foreigners are not with the hottest chicks. Occasionally you'll see a guy with a hot bar girl, or a hot escort, but long-term I see a lot of foreign guys with very homely women. And older women with kids, who Thai men won't touch. And I see a lot of very, very beautiful Thai women with Thai men, so I think we are the equivalent of a speck of sand on the beach, in the grand scheme of things. We occasionally over estimate ourselves. -

Thai car sales plunge; luxury market hit amid economic woes
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
That is just patently untrue, a friend of mine is a car broker, and he did say that luxury cars are hard to resell, but that virtually anything he gets under $15,000 sells within a week or two. -
Thai car sales plunge; luxury market hit amid economic woes

Never forget, the nation endured 9 long years of the Prayuth Decimation. The economy will feel the effects of their policies for years to come. Never, ever allow an army to rule the nation.- 41 replies

NBTC Commissioner, AM Thanapant Raicharoen, highlights that the DAB system’s evolution is meant to coincide with the seismic transition of community radio systems into the NBTC’s stringent licensing regime, and the highly obedient PM's wishes to follow the dictates of the army, and render freedom of expression moot. It sure feels like repression and a further erosion of the "freedom of the press". Srettha and the army. Moving the nation backwards.

Thailand’s steel sales slump 11 to 12% due to weak car market
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Car sales here have been sluggish for a few years now. The biggest problem is China. That overly toxic government is dumping, big time. Thai companies cannot compete. 65 steel companies here have gone under in the past year. Flush with supply, Chinese manufacturers offer Thai buyers a cheaper price than local steelmakers. In 2023, the price of coated steel from China was 39% lower than Thai products. Chinese rolled steel sold at a 16% discount. Even without Chinese imports, steel overcapacity looms over Southeast Asia's emerging economies. Mills in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines will be able to produce at least 147 million tonnes of steel by 2026, up from 75.3 million tonnes in 2021. https://asia.nikkei.com/Economy/Trade/Thailand-considers-new-anti-dumping-measures-against-Chinese-steel -
I have a 300,000 baht per incident accident policy for mine. Between that and the universal care, it feels like a good system.

You are getting on many of our nerves. I understand her. Someone around here needs to chill out. -
Many have significant overseas income that is not brought into Thailand. For these creeps to even consider attempting to tax that would be insanity and a bizarre over reach of power. It is representative of incompetent and lazy minds, who are in way over their heads, when it comes to economic policy.
