  1. A good sauvignon blanc or chablis work every time. But, they are hard to find here due to the inane taxes on wines. And the recent reduction in one of the taxes does not seem to have affected wine prices one iota, due to the fact that there are multiple municipal, state, provincial and other taxes that have not been affected at all, so taxea are still upwards of 300%. They have completely retarded what could be a multi-billion dollar industry.
  2. I agree. Rama II is a national disaster. Heads should be rolling over it. People should be jailed for it.
  3. It is totally impractical for somebody in chronic pain from something like degenerative bone cancer to visit a hospital every time they need a toke. There has to be a level of realism brought to the table on this topic, the original op was completely out of his mind for even suggesting this.
  4. Perhaps this is an accurate indication of just how anemic the economy currently is in Thailand.
  5. I wonder what agenda they're talking about, as a lifelong centrist Democrat it appears to me that he has no agenda. I'm not saying that his current term has been a disaster but I'm just saying that he doesn't seem to have been preaching a particularly interesting agenda for his second term. The other factor is that he's just way too old and he's got the worst possible VP candidate that could have been selected. He's running against the horrific opponent, and even Mylie Cyrus should be able to beat Trump in a fair election.
  6. Honor and respect is not everything, this tiny little man could not possibly be more incorrect, self-respect and self honor is far more important. If he had the emotional development beyond that of a 13 year old he would have just been able to brush off the perceived insult rather than killing his so-called friend. This pathetic man's life should be ended immediately. He has self revoked the right to consume oxygen.
  7. Ganga can be very beneficial for people with certain medical conditions and people who suffer from chronic pain. In addition from a recreational standpoint it can be a lot of fun if used occasionally, on special occasions. When used regularly or daily for me it just loses all its impact and novelty. I smoked for about 20 years way back when, nothing wrong with it, I had a lot of good times, it just simply got to the point where I wasn't enjoying it anymore. After I stopped I did notice that I had more ambition and I did notice that my memory was better, other than that not much difference.
  8. This world is absolutely chock-full of insane nutty, phony people who will do anything in their power to avoid work and commit scams by robbing people of their money. What this boy is doing is just pure silliness, the people who should be prosecuted are the idiots that fall for the scam, they have utterly no survival instincts and they're not fit for this world. Zero sympathy.
  9. Millions of Thais shound be protesting his illigitimate position as PM, and his extreme lack of competence.
  10. Anything to avoid investigating excessively wealthy Thai cops, customs agents, immigration officers, army generals, and govt. officials. Always them, and never us.
  11. Rename it Airport Zero. Very close to the number of flights this hapless airport handles. It may be the least utilized airport in SE Asia. More flights would be a good thing. How about 20-30 flights a day?
  12. On no level whatsoever do I equate a University degree with intelligence, it certainly requires the ability to learn how to study books and learn how to take tests, but I've met people with no University education that are infinitely smarter than the majority of people who have gone to University.
  13. I noticed that just about 50 km north of Chumporn, the beaches start improving and the communities start getting nicer. In my opinion Chumporn is one of the ugliest cities in Thailand, completely devoid of charm.
  14. Sacrifice the hostages for the sake of peace. Surely a few hundred are worth tens of thousands of women and children.
  15. Let us hope. They have been saying that for 8 years now.
  16. Perhaps he stated to the generals: Please guys, you have already raped the nation, and it's women, and amassed tens of billions of dollars from your pillaging. When is enough, enough? Does you evil know no limitations? Have you no decency? And maybe it would be a good idea to mediate, before the youth and the resistance utterly destroy you and your families? Ever thought about that? You are going down in flames and the world will rejoice.
  17. Sounds like you possess a tremendous misunderstanding about the facts. I know people like my mother for instance who had degenerative spine disease and ganja helped her tremendously to deal with the pain on a day-to-day basis. You think it really would have been realistic for her to go to the hospital every time to get a puff? For what, $1000? Ganja is such an innocent drug and it helps so many people in countless ways. If there's some recreational use of it big deal, this is so overblown and this is not Reefer Madness. No reason for us to go back in time 100 years. Wouldn't you rather see some forward movement in society?
  18. Well as a Centrist American Democrat I can say there is a left wing in America, and unfortunately the progressives now either control or influence a hundred Congress people, which in my opinion is a national tragedy. I hate the progressive left.
  19. There might be something to that, and when you consider the fact that they're about one DNA strand apart, they're absolutely the same people, except perhaps culture, education and religion. Which does make a difference, of course.
  20. That's an interesting point of view, because to some of us it appears as if they're trying to start one. I get going after Hamas, but I don't get killing tens of thousands of women and children. There has to be a better way, Netanyahu must be stopped.
  21. That is a good point, I do have friends who live in Prachuap, and though it is an exquisite town in my opinion, and has wonderful restaurants and seafood, and is very inexpensive to live, the highway from there to Bangkok is not exactly a piece of cake, and the Rama II national disaster going in and out of Bangkok towards Hua Hin is an absolute nightmare. if I attempt it at all, it's at 5:00 a.m. heading south, or 10:00 p.m. heading north. Being able to fly into BKK would be huge. Hua Hin Airport seems to be the least utilized airport in SE Asia. Nobody knows why there is such astonishing ignorance in the operation of that hapless and nearly useless airport.
  22. Hua Hin is nice. But, as you get further south from there, the beaches improve, and so does the water quality in the Gulf. All the way from Pak Nam Pran (coastal Pranburi) south to Ban Saphan Noi is a great stretch, with deserted beaches, clean towns and a low cost of living. Sam Roi Yot, Kuiburi, Prachuap, Thap Sakae, Ban Krut, Ban Saphan and Ban Saphan Noi are all very nice, uncrowded, relatively undiscovered areas. PKK province is amazing. Inexpensive, and better air quality than the areas closer to Bangkok, which suffer from horrendous air.
  23. There is no question that Netanyahu and the extremist Orthodox supporters of his are homicidal and genocidal. The IDF is engaging in terror by slaughtering tens of thousands of innocent women and children to a completely disproportionate degree, compared to the Hamas terror attacks. It appears to be ethnic purification, so Israel has gone from a nation of Holocaust survivors to a national purveyor of terror.
