  1. The really sad and rather pathetic truth on this issue is that nobody wants the Palestinians and that's why nobody has ever offered to give them land or give them refugee status. They are pariah's within the Arab world. I'm not making any value judgments on that nor am I trying to explain why, it just seems to be the way it is. They are not well liked throughout the Arab world, though the Arab world seems to find it convenient to come to their defense, when they are being oppressed.
  2. Is this current administration not an army run junta? They certainly were not elected.
  3. Just look at what the criminalization of drugs has resulted in, in the US. Millions have been locked up, and billions have been spent. And we ended up with the cartels and huge problems in Mexico. Legalize everything except Fentanyl. Take out the Chinese producers of it. Somehow. A death penalty for those involved in the distribution of it. Otherwise, let people do what they want. Demand will likely drop.
  4. That's the problem, your wife is a racist, and her racism is directed toward lower income people from Issan. There are literally legions of Bangkok people who feel infinitely superior to the people of Issan, and many of them have never even been to Issan, like yourself. It is an exquisite area, lovely hard-working people, and there's a tiny, tiny percentage of daughters that go to work in massage and in bars. Likely a percentage much smaller than Los Angeles, New York or London.
  5. Due to the ridiculously disproportionate bombardment of Gaza and the ongoing genocide committed against women and children, this is a wonderful development. Israel needs to be as isolated as possible from the rest of the world, they barely deserve standing in the United Nations anymore.
  6. By locking this guy up, and by locking up as many of Trump's goons as possible, it is showing that the law has meaning and that nobody, including the huge guy, is not above the law.
  7. This is an incredible betrayal of the Thai people and the people who have invested their life savings in these shops and these businesses, and the government needs to be held accountable, and punished in whatever way possible, and to the severest extent possible. This is a flip flop of historic proportions and should never be forgotten. Ganja doesn't kill but alcohol does. So does the government of monopoly on Tobacco.
  8. As well they should be cautious and suspicious. The incredibly corrupt, toxic and useless army will likely do nearly everything in their power to desperately attempt to hang onto control. They need to be stopped and the crony senators need to be removed, arrested, or sent into exile. Or at a minimum, they should be tried in a people's court of opinion and subjected to utter humiliation. This goes for them, their spouses, siblings, aunts, uncles, and kids. Reign down upon them a horrific degree of scorn. They have richly earned this. The families have benefitted from the riches.
  9. It is the heinous defamation laws, and the willingness of the authorities to use them, at this time, that calls into question the horrible judgment of this administration. At a time when the tourism industry is complaining income is down, this is just crazy dumb, tone deaf and a further demonstration that they have no idea how to fix this, and these goons are totally in over their heads. The defamation laws were written by sold out cowards, to protect rotten players from reprisals, due to bad service, faulty products and bad business. They have no place in today's world. They represent a heinous over reach of toxic power. Thailand deserves whatever comes its way as a result of this. Those insane and cowardly defamation laws have been around way too long. They were written and passed by sold out politicians, for men who sell inferior products, offer inferior services, and steal alot of money. And do not intend to be answerable to anyone. Perhaps some of that will change. For those of us who have been here a awhile, we know that positive change only happens here through utter embarrassment, humiliation, and a loss of face. It never happens because it is the right thing to do, or due to fairness or equity. So, it must be thrust upon them, such as in this incident. The lack of vision prevents them from seeing it coming. Egg on the face can be a cure for many diseases and weaknesses.
  10. I promise if elected, I will let you guys rape and pillage our national parks and forests. I have never been to one, as I hate nature, and don't understand what the big deal is with trees and forests. Go ahead. Burn, baby burn.
  11. Issan is amazing. Lovely people. Hard working and honest. There are some gorgeous areas. Anyone who criticizes a region that makes up a third of the nation's population, is an ignoramus.
  12. The French visit. Can I try the 1982 Cheval Blanc? It is one of the rarest of your Bordeaux, correct? I can't find it in Thailand, as out wine taxes are prohibitively high. The Italian visit. I love Barolo. Can I try the 2009 Aldo Contorno Brunate? I drink it often, as I own a couple of custom agents, and import it by the case.
  13. Trump has no moral compass, so the slaughter of innocent women and children mean nothing to him. Biden is finally showing some judgment for holding back US support and he deserves credit for that.
  14. It is a rare day when I see this man doing something that appears to be the right thing. Pot should be legal worldwide. It harms nobody, unless you count poor memory and lack of ambition as great offenses against the nation. Illegal by who's definition? A corrupt, unelected government that is completely out of step with a changing world? Pot does little harm to anyone. The biggest risk is the the user will lose his ambition. Compared to alcohol the detriment to society is minuscule. The only reason why ganga is illegal in Thailand is due to the fact that legalization would make the police franchises less valuable. That is it. It ends there. This has nothing whatsoever to do with morality or character development. Quite the contrary. And to lump a pot smoker into the same category as a heroin addict is just plain old ridiculous and ignorant of the facts. I would agree that it lowers the level of a person's ambition, if used alot. And it does slow down the minds of some. To say it makes a person stupid, makes me question your own level of intelligence, not to mention how judgmental and narrow minded, it makes you seem. I know plenty of brilliant people who smoke, and it has not slowed them down. To the contrary, alot of highly intelligent people use herb to slow down their brains, create some perspective, alter their perception and boost their creativity. Speaking from experience, there is little about ganga that is harmful, as long as it does not become a daily habit. I used to smoke occasionally. It was delightful, and did not make me stupid. It did make me funnier, and enhanced my life on several levels. Dancing, sex, skiing, music, movies, and many other activities seemed more enjoyable. I consider alcohol to be infinitely more toxic to the body and mind. Not to mention society. Yet, it is legal.
  15. Always call them out by name. Never let cowardly defamation laws deter you from doing the right thing. Those laws were written by cowards, for cowards, who are afraid of truth.
  16. A terrible decision. Billions have been invested by people who had faith in the government. All will be lost. Srettha is a do nothing, backwards moving dinosaur. A regressive sort. 17. Maybe this is the much-needed parasite "polita systemembisosty" and perhaps it will affect all politicians. Wouldn't be much of a loss as far as a lot of us are concerned.
  18. There's nothing pretentious about possessing a level of sophistication and education, a knowledge of art, fine wine, etc., or a curiosity about the world. There are people out there who will be put off by it, embarrassed by it and will try to make you feel pretentious, because of their ignorance. This has nothing to do with anything, dimwits are to be ignored at all times.
  19. 93 deaths since the start of the year. Directly, or indirectly from covid? And how many from the flu? And traffic accidents? How about from the extremely low air quality? This is a non story. Covid is endemic, and has been for a long time. No longer news. Sorry to disappoint, but this is not the Zombie Apocalypse.
  20. The Commerce Ministry revealed that up to 75 local steel companies ceased operations last year, and the association fears that this figure may increase in the current year. https://thethaiger.com/news/business/thailands-steel-industry-threatened-by-surge-in-chinese-imports
  21. It is hard to even fathom the level of insecurity, and lack of self esteem, worthiness, and sensibility this man and his department must be feeling to go this far, and humiliate themselves to this extent. Or, don't they even see it? Could they be that blind and ignorant?
  22. I guess they decided that an incompetent PM who was also finance minister, while the economy was sputtering, was a bit of a mistake. Will this goon be able to implement any policy that will kickstart things? The Chinese are dumping massive amounts of steel onto the Thai market, and 67 Thai steel manufacturers have closed shop in the past year alone. The economy is still reeling from 9 sorry years of the Prayuth Decimation. Tourism numbers are up, but the quality of tourists is way, way down. People are spending alot less. What else can go wrong?
  23. Putinism is the new Stalinism. The big difference being the tens of millions Stalin had slaughtered. Both are psychopaths. Putin, a bit less so. He seems to get more fun out of the billions he earns, than from genocide of his own people.
  24. Sawasdee, like alot of overly sensitive numskulls these days, does not seem to understand that it is comedy. It is a parody. It is supposed to offend. And you must admit, there is an awful lot one can make fun of, with current government policy! Lodging a complaint with the police over a comedy routine. It does not get more surly and inane than that. Who are these people?
  25. It's as if you were speaking about Trump himself, you literally could not have been closer to the mark if you're speaking of hatred and Trump in the same sentence. That is just to the man is, that's who he's always been. My guess is that he was just a foul, discontent child, and he's been that way ever since. As a matter of fact he's still a foul discontent child, what am I saying?
