  1. For me the biggest issue would be the divorce if that were to take place. So, I would opt to marry in Thailand, as her claims against your assets are minimal. You still have a relatively easy process to get a visa. I think perhaps marrying in the US might make it easier to get a green card, but I'm not sure about that.
  2. I used to do a marriage visa and it was an absolute nightmare, now I've gone back to the retirement visa and it's fairly smooth and relatively easy, as long as I have enough money in the bank to do it legally. I do it legally and if I'm a little bit short I use one of the immigration folks within the office, since 90% of them are on the take and virtually all of them will cooperate. For a price.
  3. This is just another example of the RTP wasting their time on utter silliness, if kids want to do drugs they're going to do drugs, if adults want to do drugs they're going to do drugs, perhaps they haven't gotten the bulletin the "War on Drugs" has failed for the last 40 years. Just spend your time doing something productive, and let the kids have some fun, it's just not a big deal.
  4. Why is this considered news, and why is it considered bad news, and why is the biggest joke involved? It just sounds like Chinese men looking for Thai women, people from all over the world look for Thai women. Are Chinese men worse than others? What's the issue here, I thought that Thailand was supposedly in love with China?
  5. There were a number of drugs that were quite effective against the earlier strains, especially Delta, that the Big Pharma mafia, the CDC and the FDA did not want us to know anything about, because they were all generic. I am not sure which drugs may be effective against the current strains, I've not heard any information about that. There are likely to be some that do work however Big Pharma would prefer that you just stick with the vaccines. I have not found the vaccines to be effective, virtually everyone I know that has used the vaccines has gotten covid. Would it have been worse without the vaccines, who on earth knows?
  6. Thank you, some posts are very difficult to respond to. How do you even reply to someone who calls sushi student food. Perhaps the stuff you see on the street here, yes. It is obviously a gross misunderstanding of how exquisite and delicate sushi can be. I absolutely love sushi, it's one of my favorite foods on the planet and I've had some sushi that's absolutely sublime, never once gotten sick from it. It only gives me great joy!
  7. It's always a major bummer when you finally win the lottery and you discover that you've lost your tickets. Of course this is never happened to me, I've never won anything in my life, but I would imagine it would be quite distressing.
  8. This is amusing, go ahead and make your demands, see if it makes any difference. The marine safety, the traffic safety, the public safety, and the consumer safety does not seem to mean anything here, to the little men in charge.
  9. I think if they have really good tomato sauce no additions are required, but a lot of pizza I've had here has very marginal tomato sauce. Regardless, there's no excuse for putting ketchup on pizza. My older sister used to do that when I was a kid and it would drive me crazy, even as a kid I had enough good sense to not do something like that.
  10. I seriously doubt the dead loan shark is going to get much sympathy from many people on this forum. These guys seem to behave like vermin, one less vermin on the planet is fine by me.
  11. Another tip, if you have a gold card on any of the airlines even if you're not flying business class, you can get away with using the express business class VIP lane, I've done it many times.
  12. Well you define them as hostile to Israel, many of us define them as rational people who are pleading for a humanity, without heartless cruelty, continued genocide against civilians, utter destruction of their homeland, and a high level of hatred for, and intolerance against the Palestinian people.
  13. For a nation born of the Holocaust that supposedly prides itself on tolerance, it is becoming increasingly more intolerant by the day. Now, no criticism of Israel will be tolerated. As an American Jew I find this behavior abhorrent, as I have experienced decades of criticism from Jewish friends over my criticism of Israeli government policy, in addition to criticism from most Democrats for being politically Incorrect, which I insist on being. Both positions are a joke and a travesty. Israel has denied visas to the United Nations staff due to the global organization’s criticism of the regime’s targeting of civilians and hospitals in Gaza. Media reports said Israel will not renew the visa of a United Nations staff member and will deny the visa request of another UN employee. “We will stop working with those who cooperate with the Hamas organization’s propaganda,” said Eli Cohen, Israel’s minister of foreign affairs, on X on Monday. Cohen described the UN’s conduct as disgraceful. No sir, the conduct of your country is a disgrace. https://www.presstv.ir/Detail/2023/12/25/717032/-gaza-un-visa-staff-israel
  14. What ever happened with the Cha Cha promises to root out bad apple immigration guys, on the border? They likely let in thousands, to line their greedy pockets, during covid. How about the cops, immigration and customs? Zero reform. What about the biggest joke? Alot of grandstanding and publicity hounding, without results. All a big show. Prayuth did not care at all, on any level, about anything other than his own enrichment, and the vintage of ridiculously expensive champagne he is able to select from his wine cellar. There is no saying the extent of the corruption in his, and the current administration, but the army is not exactly known for integrity.
  15. In other countries there's something very bizarre known as a deterrent, and when people know that they're going to get in trouble for behaving improperly they tend to be more likely to behave themselves. Here when you have a group that calls itself law enforcement and utterly refuses to uphold traffic laws, you have a population that knows it can get away with absolutely anything on the road, and it results in an awful lot of mayhem, deaths and bad behavior. There is a very simple solution to this, get the police to actually do their jobs.
  16. You cannot destroy the image of something that's already been destroyed. The Phuket taxi group does not have an image, other than that of mobsters, gangsters, hooligans and thugs. And it seems to me that a taxi driver has to be accommodating to his passengers, if the driver is blasting the AC and the passenger is cold, and asks him to turn it down, isn't it common courtesy to do so? Perhaps she damaged the incredibly delicate ego, of an emotionally undeveloped goon, who looks like a man, and smells like a man, but is actually 13.
  17. And that $800,000,000 smile is irresistible.
  18. Likely a good idea. But, I do trust this dentist. I had just gotten a root canal and crown on that tooth. Over a year later I started to feel pain. Unusual. Got it checked out, and it turned out I had a vertical fracture, which cannot be fixed. The dentist offered me a credit for the work done on the root canal and crown. I thought that was gracious. These fractures are commonly found in weak teeth, teeth that have been treated with a root canal, and other restorative treatments like crown placements. Healthy teeth can also be subject to cracks by chewing on hard materials and foods, like ice. Specifically, when a root canal is being performed, a jolt of pain, sound of popping, or bleeding in the canal might also be a sign of a vertical root fracture that happened during the procedure.
  19. Just got my first one. It took 8 months of work, multiple visits and was expensive. It takes real commitment. Likely worth it, in the end.
  20. If your opinion and what you thought of me mattered one iota, I would likely post a photo and prove you wrong. But it doesn't. It means less than zero. Guess I don't feel any shame, because I am of such low quality. LOL.
  21. There is some truth to that. But, how are they going to solve their ghost city problems and the impending financial crisis? They are so dependent on the real estate sector, and millions are in big trouble and upside down, on their "so called safe investments". I don't think the CCP can bail out these firms, nor their people, many of whom are now fleeing the big cities. China is facing some major headwinds.
  22. The safety standards here are very questionable. And so are the maintenance standards, for some very old boats. And what about marine safety inspections, for boats carrying the public? Do they even exist? Despite protestations to the contrary by goons like Sretta, do they care about the safety of the public one iota? Only if it makes the news. Otherwise, just a stage play, and fake declarations, with no will or sincerity behind them.
  23. I do not think it is smart to wear a watch that valuable when wandering around a big city. Anywhere. It takes a bit of a desperate ego to do so.
  24. This is a good thing. That betrayal should never be forgotten. The senate and army leadership is made up of weak, pathetic, cowardly, self entitled hooligans, who are accustomed to a perch atop the ivory tower, scared to death of being taken down a notch, and being asked to be accountable for their heinous and unforgivable actions. Of course they will resort to whatever dirty tactics they can. That is who and what they are. Filth. They are the deplorables. These lowlifes have been bullying the Thai people for decades now. Guess they never expected the favor to be returned. They all assume they are "above it all". Mightier than the masses. Too rich to touch. Well, perhaps things are about to change. Perhaps your lives are about to take a turn for the worse, and you and your families are going to be subject to intense harassment for the cowardly and highly dishonorable positions you accepted. After all, the fortune comes at some cost, right? Harass the army leaders and the senators, and their families. The kids benefit from the fortunes their parents make off their illicit jobs. They are treated special due to their parents positions. They need to know that their parents are monsters. We must stop coddling the kids. Life can and should be ugly for those gangster families. The people know the disqualification was a sham, an act of desperation, a power grab, an act of spectacularly, morally bankrupt power mongering men, and a total travesty. The army is far too powerful here, he knows that, and reform is needed. The sooner the better.
  25. The will of the people is only relevant in a true democracy. In an army ruled autocracy, they ignore the election results, cast aside a young, capable reformer like Pita, and install an incompetent puppet like Sretta. They way of the Thai army is to pick a bottom of the barrel man like Prayuth, or Sretta. It has to be an unreliable poll, if Sretta got 22%. Why would he get that high a number? Familiarity? What has he done for the Thai people lately, besides making alot of declarations?
