  1. Well dinosaurs most definitely are not extinct in Thailand, and perhaps Sretta did not want to remind the public of the fact that dinosaurs are still ruling the roost and pulling the strings.
  2. How on earth is this guy considered a peacemaker? If anything he has declaring war on the Thai people by allowing his party to jump into bed with the toxic army, and completely betray the hopes, will, wishes, dreams, and ambitions of the vast majority of the Thai people and especially the youth. Thaksin is enemy number one at this point, so are the PT, Sretta and the army.
  3. No the one thing that you've gotten wrong here is that once you pay that fee it is the immigration agent who has committed fraud, and that fraud is entirely on them, not me. My visa is completely legitimate and the agent is the one who's entirely vulnerable. At least in theory. The other aspect of this is that getting caught submitting fraudulent documents to immigration is likely a serious crime, on the other hand using documents that immigration has created for you is no crime at all.
  4. There is no question that Russian history, culture and art is incredibly deep and incredibly rich, this is the land that is that has produced the Bolshoi and the Kirov, Nobokov, Stravinsky, Malevich, Popova, Kandinski, etc. But most of that is ancient history, these days they're producing munitions, they're creating warfare, they are sponsoring corruption, they're creating oligarchs out of thin air from state enterprises, they have a leader who's one of the richest men in the world from extortion and pure corruption, who also happens to be a serial killer, and they just do not seem to be contributing much in the way of positivity to the planet as a whole. If I'm wrong, if you are aware of some wonderful things that the Russian nation is doing for the planet, please let me know. I would love to hear about that.
  5. Well in my opinion I think kids are very overrated, some are great sure, and certainly the art of parenting goes a long way towards helping a child to develop into a well-formed adult. But I would have to say that the vast majority of children are nothing special on any level, and I double down on the fact that choosing to not have kids was the single greatest decision of this lifetime. So I'm in total agreement with you on this one.
  6. Some flagship stores with luxury brands are intended to lose money, and the brands know from the very start that they're not going to be profitable stores, yet they consider them to be valuable forms of publicity and the need for the brand to be seen. Let me know the last time you've seen anybody and a Prada store in Bangkok. Thais with the kind of money to spend 400,000 baht on a purse travel a lot, and they'd much rather spend 140,000 baht on that same purse in Singapore or London. Same applies to tourists, the most common complaint I've heard from wealthy tourists is that they'll never return because the wife won't shop here, as luxury prices are beyond insane.
  7. Most Thai people have a great sense of humor and when I've used the term phom ting tong nit noy. Many people get a real kick out of it and they really start laughing. Most Thais appreciate a foreigner who does not take himself too seriously. Often they will comment saying that I love to joke around. I'm not worried about esteemed company, quite frankly I don't hang out with the hi-so nonsense crowd. Thankfully. Ha!
  8. I wonder if this will encourage Thais to start reading books. Getting a tax credit for books, what a wonderful and novel concept.
  9. The media goes hard on air pollution? Really, is the media defying the army? I see the media as a kind of equivalent of Pravda in Russia, or Granma in Cuba. I thought they were a party organ. They don't seem to engage in a whole lot of criticism these days, much less investigative journalism.
  10. I could understand local people being annoyed and offended by something like this. When staying in Thailand either as a tourist or an expat one is expected to show a certain amount of decorum, etiquette and respect. This is likely just a low life drunk hopefully a few nights in jail might sober him up.
  11. Well what might appear empty to you is bordering on paradise to many millions of us. Though I like kids, I've never had the desire to own any. One hour with one is plenty. And I feel that deciding not to have children was likely single-handedly the greatest, wisest, and most astute decision that I've made in this lifetime! I have not missed them for a nanosecond, and I never will. It's a personal choice, we all have to make these kind of decisions. 98% choose to go the conventional route and have children. For me children were never an option. And I'm infinitely thankful for that.
  12. I know it's all in the spirit of jest, just having some fun. What else is there if we can't have some fun?
  13. What other reply can be expected of an inane request for proof that the police are willing to allow a bribe, to let one off when caught driving under the influence? Break that one down for me.
  14. Frankly I don't even know what that means, but if I cared one iota, I suppose it might matter.
  15. Collectively we're certainly a crazy race in terms of humanity as a whole, there's no question that we are considerably more insane than we are normal. Certainly we've shown ourselves to be capable of great things and great acts of mercy, but we've also shown ourselves to be capable of Intolerable cruelty and unbelievable hate. So are we crazy? Absolutely, are we redeemable? Yes definitely. Personally I consider myself to be ting tong mak mak, so somewhere in the neighborhood of crazy, and life is a lot more fun with an attitude like that. Crazy playful. Ha!
  16. I rest my case your honor. You've pretty much made my case, I have always thought immigrants are the best part of what America has to offer, always has been and always will be. Blue blooded Americans offer very, very little in the way of contribution to society other than their arrogance and intolerance. Immigrants are what makes America great and as they say the cream rises to the top. There's a reason why there's so many Indian CEOs, perhaps they are genetically superior. What a concept. Dark men beating out white men. Ha! When it comes to intelligence they're certainly a lot more intelligent than the average white guy I run into in the US. And I'm a white man so not even start calling me a racist. I'm just telling it as I'm seeing it. Immigrants are the best of what America has to offer, hands down. I won't even apologize to the proud boys, they can suffer in their own self created misery and delusion.
  17. No, you will have to pay a fee and you can do it right in the office. You don't have to use an outside agent, nearly all offices are complicit now, they are franchisees much like the RTP. You have but to ask for help.
  18. Man oh man have things changed in just the past 5 years. There should be an age limit for that kind of work.
  19. One can only hope that these people get locked up and never see the light of day. I'm sure once their fellow inmates find out what they are guilty of they will be given special privileges and treated with special care.
  20. Taoism: s**t happens Buddhism: if s**t happens, it isn't really s**t Islam: if s**t happens, it is the will of Allah Catholicism: if s**t happens, you deserve it. Judaism: why does this s**t always happen to us? Atheism: I don't believe this s**t.
  21. Even better advice would have been never travel to Russia under any circumstances, it is not some place you need to go, you do not want to subject yourself to their nonsense and their extreme official behavior. Avoid Russia like the plague, it is hell on earth, do not go, do not consider it, eliminate it from your list of possibilities. Avoid the land of King Vlad and his filthy military, FSB, hitmen, and police.
  22. While it certainly possible that she drowned, it's fairly unlikely considering that he was poolside and would have seen her struggling. Hopefully an autopsy can determine whether or not the drowning was inflicted or an accident, if indeed it was drowning. If not this guy is in for a world of hurt. It's never a good thing to be seen in public arguing with a Thai woman and then to have her dead minutes later.
  23. Yes I'm sure his wonderful white boys would have been very amenable to negotiate a pact with their slaves, perhaps they would have agreed to pay them $2 per year as compensation rather than have their labor be totally free. In Trump's world they may have even agreed not to violate their women. The one has to realize that these kind of comments are coming from the mind of a madman who is completely unhinged, and has no connection whatsoever with reality. He will say or do anything, truth, integrity, morality and honor are not anything that he deals in. He deals in lies, fabrication, fiction, exaggeration, deflection, dishonor, crime. He will say anything, whatever it takes to keep his devotees happy and make illicit cash.
  24. Just forget online dating. Meeting women here is so easy. As long as you have some game. If you have a great sense of humor, and are able to make them laugh and feel relaxed, if you are decent looking, and dress decently, and are well groomed, it can be quite easy here. Generally, Thai woman are very comfortable with their femininity, with flirting, and open to talking with someone who approaches them, very unlike women in the West, these days. Of course, it also depends on who you pursue. If you are going after wealthy women, who are wearing $3,500 outfits, you will likely get turned down. If you are in your 30's, Thailand is your oyster. But, even for older guys, there are hundreds of thousands of good looking, younger Thai women who are open to being with a foreigner, as long as he is financially stable. 98% of women want that stability. You simply need to be very assertive, have some game, hopefully have a minimal amount of bling, and a great sense of humor. If you can get them to laugh within a few moments of striking up a conversation with them, you are on your way. Even the smaller towns are good hunting grounds. Gals who work in hotels, restaurants, retail stores, etc. If in a town like Pattaya, stay away from the beach areas, and you will be fine finding a real civilian. Step up to the plate often, and just approach as many strangers are you can. Make a sport of it. You will find some good ones, and they are likely to be real civilians, unlike online.
  25. I will believe it when I see it. Progressive policy is not exactly the hallmark of this current administration, nor was it something the last administration engaged in. So we have 10 years of regressive politics. Is that about the change now? This would be a very positive step in the right direction and would be something that might help to attract the higher end tourists they are constantly talking about. Now, they have to look at the luxury taxes and lower them too, as the boutiques in Thailand don't do much business and are simply name brand showrooms for the major brands that support them, and lose alot of money on them. Nobody is going to spend $11,700 on a Prada purse they can buy in Singapore for $4,600.
