The future of masking -- will it ever end?
spidermike007 replied to ultramarine's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
Nobody seems to care anymore. I visit Bangkok frequently. Have not worn a mask for a year, including on my last few flights back and forth to the US and in the airports. The majority are still masked up. A minority are courageous enough to get on with their lives, without masks. I rarely ever feel judged for that choice, and would likely not even notice if I was, since I don't care what others think of me anyway. 90% of foreigners here seems to have dropped the mask. And 90% of Thais continue to wear them. They can wear them the rest of their lives. I don't care anymore. -
Pita Allays Fears Of Possible Snags Over Rise To PM
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
As stated before these senators need to be declared enemies of the state. They are essentially committing treason, at this point. A list of their names and photos needs to be circulated. The people need to call them and their children, siblings, and parents out at work, at school, at restaurants, and in public. Shame them into submission. Embarrass them to no end. Make them conscious of the incredible amount of damage and erosion to democracy they are causing, and let Cha Cha know we are not buying his "I will be cooperative, and honor the results" nonsense. If these illigitimate clowns don't act like adults and cooperate, all bets are off. Their health, safety and welfare could be in jeopardy. The people will not tolerate it. Make their lives so uncomfortable they quit a year early. It just might work. The military backed senators need to back down, and not cause problems. The army owes that to the people, after 9 plus years of devastating results. If Cha Cha is the tiniest bit sincere about not interfering, the last year of their time in office needs to be revoked immediately. Let the people make the decisions, not highly corrupt, totally compromised men who have sold their soul to the heinous, toxic army. Something needs to be done to tame these goons. They must be brought into line, or pay a very, very heavy price, for their absolute repudiation of democracy. They are now starting to behave like fascist goombahs. Let us attempt to show them what a very miserable life looks like!- 72 replies

I don't use a manbag for traveling. I use it when I reach my destination. For spending a few days in Bangkok, for example. The low end bags have thin straps. The better ones are very comfortable. And like you say, to each his own. Let me deal with the straps, OK?

Prayut To Be Held Accountable For His Deeds Over Last 9 Years: Pita

There is no source. It was a hypothetical question. Hopefully, the future will reveal the extent of his crimes. Neither Prayuth nor the Thai army are known for their integrity. -
Thailand and SE Asia ‘caught off guard’ by record heatwave
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
When you don't think about the future, plan for the future and take precautions based on predictions, you are "caught off guard". -
Because that is the nature of the topic. Duh. Not like I just brought it up in a casual conversation.

Prayut To Be Held Accountable For His Deeds Over Last 9 Years: Pita
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Nah. You don't know what he did. How would you feel if you found out he embezzled $21 billion from the treasury? Would that change your lenient judgment of him? I am hopeful his crimes against the nation will be revealed over time. -
Prayut To Be Held Accountable For His Deeds Over Last 9 Years: Pita

A rather nice dream. If Cha Cha was actually held accountable for his likely crimes he would be looking at ten life sentences. Instead, he will remain an untouchable general, with a ridiculous amount of ill gotten wealth. -
Prayut To Be Held Accountable For His Deeds Over Last 9 Years: Pita

Didn't break the law? If I was a gambling man, I would bet everything I have, that there were few laws he did not break. The extend of the corruption, filth, rot, and malfeasance was historic. And the way they hid it from the most naive amongst us, was an art form. -
Prayut To Be Held Accountable For His Deeds Over Last 9 Years: Pita
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Let us hope. The damage he inflicted upon the nation is historic. When you have an administration that is built solely upon a foundation of cronyism, favoritism, and corruption, you end up with alot of morally bankrupt people, with ridiculous amounts of money. It gives them an Ivory Tower consciousness, and seems to foster a level of pathology that manifests itself as a dislike of the common man, a lack of respect for anyone who is not very wealthy, and a system of patronage, that only the toxic urchins within the army, the administration, the police, immigration, customs, and the elite of society benefit from. Nobody knows the actual level of corruption, nor the real crimes committed by the army goons. They likely stripped the treasury bare. They need to pay. Lock up Prayuth, Prawit, Phiphat, Anutin and the others. -
The many blessings of Farangs. Chapter 77.

The quality of life in the West has declined so precipitously, many of us do not recognize our home nations anymore. Unless you own a home back there, the quality of life is very low. Here, in a smaller town you can rent a nice place for 10,000 baht. That is quite incredible. I feel grateful every day for being here. -
Absolutely. And it demonstrates a high level of insecurity. Real men just don't care what others think. We don't need their approval.
-
Yes. Several. I use them when traveling. Water, sunglasses, reading glasses, a raincoat, a small umbrella, snacks, etc. Very practical. I don't care one iota what others think of me. You think I look gay? Where I come from in New York, that is considered a compliment, by all but the most insecure of men. Don't like my look? So what? Means less than zero to me. None of that is a factor. There are alot of good ones out there. Have a couple by pacsafe. 3000 baht and up. Worth it.

So true. And if there are eye witnesses and positive evidence, why even have a trial? Maybe just a panel of 3 judges. And off she goes. The number of pathological maniacs seems to be multiplying these days. Perhaps we need to get more practical, and harsher, with the way we deal with the human debris.

40 charges of murder. That should get her at least 20 years in prison. 6 months per murder. The judges here seem to lean on the side of leniency. Hopefully, a courageous one will sentence her to five life terms without parole. Wouldn't the death penalty be better for everyone?

What do you believe happens to you when you die?

I believe the virgin orgy is reserved for terrorists. Not sure normal people want, nor get that. And what on earth is the virgin appeal all about? I prefer an experienced woman! -
Alot of truth there. Ugly words and slurs for various races is based on a huge level of ignorance. When I was young, my mother and father explained we don't use those kinds of ugly slurs in this house. Never forgot that. A wonderful lesson in humanity and decency, from two very kind and tolerant folks. And nearly every Aussie I have ever met lacked sophistication, class, and elegance. Theirs, is a very rough culture.
