  1. True. And likely many of the guys who end up committing serial killing not only benefit from the obsession to keep guns legal and easy to acquire, but also from the refusal to tighten background checks and the sick, dastardly, heinous gun lobby influence over weak, morally challenged right wing politicians.
  2. It is a well established fact that most police here are compromised and highly partial to events and perpetrators, depending on their wealth and status. That is put to the extreme on a filthy, spectacularly corrupt place like Dark Tao. Five families run the place and have gained massive fortunes largely from illegal land sales. They are untouchable. The local cops cater to them, the regional authorities won't touch them, and even the army won't get involved. So, they are fully and totally protected, and don't have the good sense to banish family members who are committing major crimes.
  3. An autopsy barely matters when you have a serial killer who is protected at the highest levels.
  4. Just another day in America, the out of control land of guns and people who love to use them on innocents. And weak politicians who are owned by the NRA, and cling to antiquated 2nd amendment nonsense.
  5. You goons keep making up these juvenile mottos. You really want more tourists? You want affluent tourists? How sincere are you guys? What sacrifices are you willing to make to really attract them? 1. Fix the place. 2. Fix the traffic safety issues. 3. Fix the air quality issues. 4. Address the trashing of the land and the sea. 5. Lower luxury and wine taxes, dramatically. Practical solutions are needed, not meaningless hyperbole and mottos.
  6. A friend of mine manages quite a few condos in HH, and they are all fully booked through the end of April. Seems busy.
  7. You get up in the morning and the last thing in the world you expect to happen is to fall off your chair, hit your head and die. Wow. You have to feel for his family. How did your father die? He fell off his chair.
  8. There is a law against pineapple on a pizza in Italy. It is considered a misdemeanor. 30 days in jail, and a fine of 500 euros and the restaurant gets shut down. LOL. Should be a law!
  9. How about just allowing all the parents of kids she taught to slap her around for a few months? Unlimited slaps, anytime day or night. She might actually learn something, and there would be actual potential for development as a decent human being, after the parental retribution.
  10. Always rent in person. Always buy in person, if possible, if it is on Facebook, etc. The scammers these days are skillful and know a multitude of tricks, to fool you.
  11. One always has to deduct for Hawaiian pizza. Pineapple is a perversion on pizza. Have you ever seen it in Italy?
  12. Unfortunately, this is just another day in the US. Gun crazies tend to use their precious guns. The U.S. experienced more than 600 mass shootings in 2022, nearly double the number recorded four years ago when there were 336, according to Washington-based Gun Violence Archive. https://www.voanews.com/a/us-gun-violence-soars-in-2022/6876785.html
  13. Such incredible wisdom. Alcohol is bad for you. Alcohol does not help with the cold weather. Such genius concepts. Where do they find such experts, who are able to provide such sage advice?
  14. Otherwise known as the Prayuth decimation. The sabotage to the tourism industry was horrific.
  15. Those of us with driving skill, and a strong desire for not only survival, but the avoidance of terrible injury, are constantly scanning the road, in front of us, beside us, and behind us. There are an exceptionally high number of reckless fools on these roads, and it is the only way to preserve our lives, and those of our families, and friends, who may be driving with us, and depending on us. When I was growing up, we took drivers education courses. They showed us horrendous films, of semi trucks plowing into cars, and literally obliterating everything in their path. They also showed us graphic images of head on collisions. 120mph impacts. Even as a young kid, it made quite an impression. It was horrific, and it was hard to get those images out of your head afterwards. But, it left a lasting impression, and when I started driving, I understood it was serious business, and that it was a very dangerous thing to do. Also, I had the benefit of my lovely Mom, as my instructor. She spent countless hours in the car with me giving me tips, advice, and teaching me driving etiquette, courtesy and respect toward other drivers. That was priceless, and I doubt many Thai kids benefit from that kind of guidance. I see people driving here, with their families in the car, and doing things, and taking the kinds of risks no rational or sane person with common sense would do. What for? To gain one minute? Why take those risks? What is the logic? Often, when I am cruising along at 100kph, someone cuts right in front of me. Or someone comes out from the side road, right in front of me. I have to slam on my brakes, or change lanes to avoid him. I look in my rearview mirror, and there is nobody behind me. So, if he had waited two seconds, he would have had completely safe passage onto the highway. What gives? Where is the intelligence, caution, and prudence? Where is the common sense? What about just the survival instinct?
  16. We don't know what happened. But it was unlikely it happened from a blown tire or a faulty van. It was most likely either driver error, driver inattention or recklessness, driving too fast, or it was caused by another crazy driver. The highways here are insane and beyond dangerous. The skill set of the average driver is not impressive. One has to feel for all the families that will be impacted by what may turn out to be a senseless and avoidable tragedy. I use mini vans as infrequently as I have to, and have felt like asking a driver to just stop and let me off, on many occasions, when they are tailgating or driving mindlessly. May do just that in the future. Not worth the risk of death.
  17. The best helmets I have found here for the money are Real. The comfort model fits well. They are about 2,500 baht. And well made. A good, open face helmet for running around the island.
  18. Those are government stats. Can anything these guys publish be trusted? I don't rely on those numbers. I don't think anyone should.
  19. It seems like insanity to me. Just when we are getting covid under control, invite back in the nation which has been least effective, due to draconian, and idiotic CCP policies. And let it spread once again. If anything, severely isolate the Chinese, until they get their act together. Make them pay the price for repressive government lunacy.
  20. If you are going to exaggerate at least use truthful descriptions. A despot: one exercising power tyrannically : a person exercising absolute power in a brutal or oppressive way. So, who are the despots you are describing? A savage is someone who is extremely cruel, violent and uncontrolled. Is that your take on the Thai populace?
  21. Correct and anyone who thinks big joke is clean, the crime buster he fastidious portrays himself as, or untainted by any the RTP status quo is beyond naive.
  22. When is the last time you remember China doing the right thing, or behaving as a responsible world citizen? It is not within the ability of the CCP to do so, or to show any regard or respect. Just not who they are. The world should just wise up, and refuse any Chinese tourist until China can prove Covid has gone away. Zero covid was Xi's disaster and the entire policy was based on hubris, arrogance and science denial.
  23. Are they even taking into account the so called labor shortage? Is there really a shortage or labor, or are we talking about millions who just don't want to work, or don't want to work for peanuts, while being bossed around by someone they don't like it and respect, and being asked to put in 60 plus hours a week.
  24. They are likely Thai nationals. There are alot of Indians born here, with Thai passports.
  25. Well, we are certainly in agreement there. While I am supportive of gay rights, I think the whole transgender thing has gone way too far in the US, as well as the 55 other "recognized identities" nonsense. It is beyond ridiculous and likely all inspired by toxic social media.
