  1. We refer to the shuttered businesses as the "Prayuth Decimation". It is a very sad thing to witness. Those are devastated lives, in many cases. I know some Thais who spent their life savings trying to keep their business alive, while the government floundered, and flip flopped on the atrocious restrictions for 2 years. Try Prayuth at the Hague.
  2. This airport accommodated 1.8 million total passengers in 2018. Tripling that would be a major accomplishment, much less the kind of insane numbers they are talking about. Most flights than LAX? Really? Dreamers.
  3. 1. I am sure the corrupt cops appreciate you coming to their aid, and providing the kind of smoke and mirrors they thrive on. 2. How on earth would they know she was a social media star? Or an actress? It is likely they would not have attempted this crime if they knew.
  4. Wow. This could result in a transfer with full pay. Really tough when you are facing those kinds of threats to your career as a highly profitable cop franchisee.
  5. Charge the taxi creep with manslaughter, convict him and ship him off to prison. It would send a message. Killing is not allowed on the road. Stop the killing!
  6. How is the big joke going to defend his guilty peers now? And notice how the "police pretty" spokeswoman is silent on this one? The RTP are so tone deaf and so unaccustomed to the power of social media, they are incapable of getting out of their own way. They just keep digging the hole deeper and deeper. This episode is rich. The victim is becoming a real hero, and not because of her victimhood. Because of her courage and unwillingness to bow down to corruption and filth. Kudos to her.
  7. 60 million arrivals a year? Is that a typo? Swampy barely gets that, if all arrivals are included. LAX only gets 48 million arrivals per year. Sounds like more wet dreams. Though Pattaya airport is not as neglected and poorly used as Hua Hin Airport (the least utilized airport in the world?), it is not likely to become the major hub they are dreaming of.
  8. I wonder how income compares to pre-covid levels? I still hear alot of businesses complaining things are way down. And it is likely a portion of the tourists are domestic travelers, who don't seem to spend as much. Pattaya is close to Bangkok. Samui is still struggling, and I hear Phuket was very busy for the holidays, but alot quieter now. And Bangkok? I saw hotel prices drop by as much as half, starting Jan. 10th. Anyone have any real info and truth, instead of the tourist business garble?
  9. He should be immediately ousted from the monastery, and excommunicated from Buddhism. He obviously has no understanding of the teachings of the Buddha, nor any self control. See ya, fool!
  10. Any Honda dealer can service nearly any Honda bike. They don't seem partial, as they are likely reimbursed by Honda, for warranty work. No worries with that. It looks like a great bike. I have the Forza 350, and love it. Wonder why the ADV 350 is so hard to find? Did they not anticipate the demand? Honda seems to be particularly vulnerable to this issue.
  11. Thailand's poster child for the NRA. You live by the gun, you may die by the gun. Sounds like this fool was obsessed with his guns. Congrats to the father in law for dispensing what appears to be reasonable justice considering the circumstances.
  12. Wow. When it rains, it pours. Is Krabi the new Dark Tao?
  13. Imagine if some of them pulled a Liz Cheney and spoke honestly about the crooked families? What a riot that would be. The difference was Liz was never earning tens of millions, feeding from the pig trough.
  14. It was a total ruse. There was zero effort to root out corruption. Nothing bordering on sincere. Guys like the biggest joke are PR machines, meant to deceive the most naive. They never went after anyone significant. If anything, this administration has deepened the rot and filth.
  15. The sidewalks in Thailand can be quite dangerous. There are alot of hazards. Just another example of the low regard given to public safety.
  16. Most people skilled enough to do free climbing, or free solo, know the risks. This is simply about the cowards at the parks department not wanting to deal with the risk of getting their reputations tarnished any further.
  17. Since the police have absolutely no credibility on any level here, she automatically is granted a higher level of believability. And if this has anything to do with e cigs, your honor, I rest my case. That has nothing to do with the public good, and everything to do with the lack of profit generated by the heinous government tobacco monopoly. And it is likely just a story the cops made up, anyway. They are utterly desperate, having been outed once again.
  18. Seems each time he is quoted, his ideas get further out there. Does anyone really care what he has to say? If what he is saying about the vaccines translates into "not enough Thais were given a chance to get the good vaccines", he might be right. But, even with the good ones, are any available within Thailand that are effective against the latest variants? And perhaps he could figure out a way to improve the food at the Pizza Company.
  19. We fully support human rights, but we don't support any of the rights of the youth to protest, to open micro breweries, and to brew good, tasty, exciting craft beer, taking the nation into the 21st century.
  20. If people only knew the true extent of the rot and corruption at the top, they might find some motivation to get these goons out of power. Cha Cha and his gang and family are likely robbing the people blind.
  21. What are the franchisees going to say, when caught red handed? Yes, we did it. Yes, we do it all the time? If course they will deny it. They deny everything. They are such innocents.
  22. The trust and confidence was damaged many years ago. These incidents are not of much meaning. Everybody knows the cops here are as crooked as they come. Just the fact that these guys will not face suspensions alone is enough to make everything very clear, to everyone. These guys are protected at the highest levels. Perhaps what Cha Cha really meant to say was: we know you work sidelines and we condone the corruption. Just don't get caught, or don't make deadlines. Please.
  23. Let us see how this plays out, before labeling this a doom scenario. Yes, alot of infected people will show up from China. But, the subsequent variants seem to be getting weaker and more feeble. So, maybe this virus is nearly played out. Maybe.
  24. Is there a such thing as reckless driving in space? Or do they somehow find patient, careful, responsible pilots for a mission like this? Somehow Thailand and space don't seem like a comfortable fit. Am I underestimating the science and technology here?
  25. This is truly outstanding. The RTP cannot get enough bad press, as far as I am concerned. To call them derelict in their duties would be too diplomatic. They barely practice any law enforcement, and work the franchise, as if their future fortunes depended upon it, which it seems to. The RTP at it's inception seems to have been created with a status quo from the government. We will NOT pay you a living wage, but you have a franchise, and the limit of your income is based solely on your own creativity and initiative, and you will always be protected. Is that not the case? The RTP is a blight on the face of the nation. Kudos to Charlene An, for calling out these corrupt creeps. Keep it up guys. Hopefully you will get what is coming to you. One can only dream.
