As far as I am concerned, insurance companies, and banks are the greatest form of corporate mafia there is. Anytime someone can get over on them, they have my hearty congratulations. Too bad he was caught!

you are congratulating someone who has cheated you. or should we assume that you don't use any banking or insurance services?

I use banking services. I use insurance services to the most absolute minimum possible in this lifetime. I detest insurance companies. I need banks, but I dislike them. Otherwise I would not use them. I also am aware of the extent to which both engage in crime, and both are massive fraudsters, and not there to benefit their customers. Most are there to fleece their customers. I am proud of this man. I think anyone who can get over on the banks or the insurance companies deserves an award by us citizens. As far as the cheat thing goes, that is a lame claim. These banking and insurance empires take in trillions a year. They should be covering losses out of their profits, not our pockets. Just another instance of their criminal natures. When they do factor the losses into premiums, it is very minimal. What drives your premiums up is sick people within your health care pool, or tragedies within your home ownership pool. If you want something to blame, blame hurricanes. Blame cancer. Blame tobacco and alcohol for causing all of these health problems and losses. With insurance, you are constantly paying for other people's issues and problems. I hate insurance. I despise insurance companies. I celebrate every time one gets taken for a ride! Hooray. Congrats! Yeah baby.

Get a visa agent, but be aware that starting next month the U.S. Consulate in Chiang Mai will start requiring ACTUAL proof of income before they'll notarize your income affidavit.

But for the rest of August they will require no actual proof.

First of all, a lawyer is not needed. It is a simple process as of now. And second, I would not be surprised if they start to require proof of income. I am surprised this system has gone on for his long. I know alot of guys who do not have the income to support what they are claiming. The embassy must know that is the case. They are getting more and more intrusive and this is to be expected, in my opinion. It is about control.

  3. Again, absolutely no leadership from the tangerine tornado. Boycotting Harley means the loss of even more American jobs, numskull! Harely is right in fighting these ridiculous trade policies, and this trade war. I hope hundreds of American companies follow suit. One thing this nitwit does not seem to comprehend, is that at least half of the products that he wants to impose tariffs on, are made by American companies in China. All this trade war is, is a tax hike for the American people. It is dumb and dumber. I am hopeful this brain dead plan will convince many of his supporters to abandon him.

Tiny Don. He could not negotiate his way out of a paper bag. Making America less great by the day. Making America less relevant than it has ever been.

  4. Finnish Bitcoin owner Aarni Otava Saarimaa was lured into transferring Bitcoins worth almost Bt800 million to Thai suspects for further investment in Thai and other securities as well as for use in Macau casinos.

Was this guy completely crazy? Did he have a battery of expert lawyers reviewing the documents, visiting the casinos, and doing their due diligence? Investing $25 million dollars with a Thai actor?

Will this scum be sentenced and imprisoned? Or will the monies simply be turned over the "authorities" and all is forgotten?

  5. In the west, your wife would not ask to get an allowance every month. She would be a joint signatory on the account, and take whatever she wanted. I know guys in the US who do not carry cash, because their wives do not want them to. That is the extent of the control they exert. They cannot buy a cup of coffee, without their woman knowing about it. Talk about emasculation to the extreme? What kind of man does not like to carry around some cash?

Here, it is sometimes far easier to just give a woman a monthly allowance, especially if she is not working. I do not want my woman to work. I do not want her to be subject to the whims of an idiot boss, and have to work stupid hours, and therefore rarely be at home. And for what? $500 a month, at most? Fortunately that amount of money would not make a big difference for us, and I love the idea of my wife having the freedom to do as she pleases with her time. Her allowance means I do not have to dole out money all month, so she can go out to eat or drink with her girlfriends, buy herself something, or put some gas in the car or bike. It just makes sense.

My Thai lady friend Thai husband was thirty years older than her, my Thai step daughter is twenty eight, good looking, single and has a Thai bloke who is forty seven chasing her and she is thinking about it..This is LOS, not farangland...

Most of us are thankful for that every day of our lives. With the exception of a few guys who are either wealthy, very handsome, or super charming, most guys do not stand a chance in the US with a woman 20 or 30 years younger than them. We are invisible. Casper. Here that is not the case. We are considered exotic here, by some. And our financial positions put us in a position where we are desirable to some, except most middle or upper class women. Just put yourself out there. The worst that can happen is she says no.

  7. No doubt he will be treated in a very royal manner, by his fellow inmates. They will take "special" care of him. He deserves what he got. He worked hard for this reward.

Let us just hope he actually serves the sentence. Money like that goes a long way here.

  8.  First of all, the biggest variable when you meet someone online, is whether or not you will like them once you see them. Do you find them attractive? Do they find you appealing? Is there any chemistry? Is she emotionally developed, or a stunted, emotional retard? There are no shortage of women that fit that category here. Would you want to be with her any longer than an hour, once you meet her? If not, what do you do once you have made this rather grand commitment of your time?

I guess it comes down to self esteem. When I was doing online dating, I always limited the first encounter to 15-30 minutes, over a cup of coffee. And 90% of the time I was very glad I had followed that protocol. I also limited the number of contacts prior to that cup of coffee to three. I do not have any interest in having pen pals. And Thai women love to chat, and text, and you end up wasting alot of hours on someone you have never met, and more than likely are not going to get with once you do meet her, for a couple of dozen reasons. The numbers are not on your side, so why invest the time, once you have made the contact, before you actually meet her in person? What would Bond do?

Always remember one very important fact. You are a man. You have as much control as you are able to establish. You set the agenda. Time is always your ally. Not hers. She is almost always going to be in a hurry to make things happen. And lastly, if she is willing to come and stay with a guy she has never met before, she has more than likely been working as a bar girl, in a special massage parlor, or as an escort or freelancer. Very few real "civilians" would move that fast, nor be that forward. Buyer beware. And be good to yourself. Be a man. Leave behind the Western ways of emasculation. You do not need to be a doormat any longer. You have left the west behind!

  9. This news would be amusing if we did not know the truth of the matter. If driving here:

Maintain eyes in the back of your head. Watch everyone. Expect craziness, insanity, lack of reason, and a complete lack of courtesy and respect on the roads, at all times.

Expect cars and trucks to be coming at you in the wrong lane. Expect people to overtake you with the slimmest of margins.

Expect trucks to be driving very slowly in the fast lane of a highway, and most will refuse to yield to faster traffic.

If riding a motorbike, only do so if you have many years of experience. Especially on the southern islands, where huge numbers of foreigners leave Thailand in wooden boxes.

And wear the best helmet you can afford, if driving a bike.

And drive like a grandmother. This applies to ex-pats too. Bring along an international drivers license. This helps you to avoid being fleeced by the local police franchisee.

The police only show up after the accident takes place. There is nothing in the way of traffic safety on the roads, or on the highways. The police are both incompetent and indifferent. A perfect storm. They are not law enforcement. They are revenue collection agents. Those traffic stops are all about weapons, drugs and handouts. Nothing to do with safety. I suppose there is no money in traffic safety. However, if they levied real fines for speeding over 120kph, for reckless driving, making severely quick lane changes, etc, there would be some money to be made, and the highways would be safer.

  10. A rather ridiculous decision. Many of those being made these days here. The goons in charge are focusing their efforts in all the wrong areas. They are trying to make Thailand a Quaker State. A land of purity. They should be focusing their efforts on traffic and public safety, easing import tariffs, making visa policy simpler, and more friendly, boosting Western tourism, real crackdowns on slavery, and illegal fishing instead of nonsensical hyperbole, improving the infrastructure, cleaning up the water, the air, the rivers, and the beaches, and other things that actually improve lives.

Khao San road has seen better days. It has gotten too commercial, and does not have the flavor it had back in the day. However, the street vendors were still at least one charming aspect of the place. Opportunity missed, yet again. The penalty for a lack of vision is significant.

Little P. Not making Thailand great again. And moving the nation backwards at an astonishing and alarming pace.

    You're 100% right.

I've been thinking along the same lines for a long time.

Too many people on the planet.

For example Thailand had in 1946 a population of 18 million which is now 67 million.

China went from 900 million to 1.3 billion.

    Something will happen.

Probably a nuclear war so we can start anew.

There were under 400 million people in the world in the year 1300. Still under 600 million in the year 1600. One billion by 1800. Still quite sustainable. Only 2 billion by 1927. By 1960 we had 3 billion. It took only until 1974 for an additional billion. Since then we are adding a billion every 11-13 years. Now, we are at 7.6 billion. Something has to be done. I doubt the planet can sustain 20 billion. And if it can, the quality of life is going to be a pale shadow of what it is now.

I am not an advocate of governmental intervention. But something has to be done. Without trying to sound fabulously incorrect politically, there has to be a way to stop Muslims, and Africans from dispensing such a large number of babies into the world. One or two is plenty. Come on people. Get with it. Show some responsibility. There are consequences for your actions, that both you and the planet have to pay for. Global warming is real. The danger is there. Sea levels will being to rise drastically in the next decade or so. Just watch. If you are not a believer, just watch.
