If you look at the way the army runs the nation, and the astonishing degree of incompetence they are bringing to the table, on a daily basis, one might presume their stunning lack of creativity, discipline, follow through, and law and order, might carry over to daily army life.
Apparently, he was able to penetrate the security of the armory, by simply shooting a guard.
I do not believe the reports about three different armories. That sounds like pure deflection. Very little truth ever comes from this administration, so why should we trust their information?

More brilliant strategy from Pipat, and the group which has no experience in tourism and promotion. Let us try to put another roadblock in the way of progress. Thailand seems to have gone out of their way to make themselves repulsive to alot of people, as a nation. Not the people. I love the people here. It is the stupendous degree of arrogance, hubris, ignorance, racism, hatred of foreigners, and the stunning lack of vision, on the part of the fabulously incompetent leaders and ministers here. It is really turning off the planet to Thailand. If they could only see how they are perceived. Such ignoramus fools.
Now, after years and years of fake nationalist ranting, and insufferable arrogance, they are really starting to pay the price, and they are getting exactly what they so wholeheartedly deserve, which is to be shunned by the planet. Oh well.
We sow what we reap. We make the bed, and then we have to lie within it.
If only we could say to these fools: don't be arrogant, because arrogance kills curiosity and passion. Arrogance is knowledge minus wisdom. Arrogance is blind to the stumbling block. Arrogance is a roadblock on the highway of wisdom.

This means absolutely nothing. Anything coming from this man of ignorance, means nothing. About his recent rant, he later apologized, but not to foreigners. He said he was sorry for losing it. He despises foreigners, as he is a racist, a bigot a xenophobe, and a fake nationalist.
He knows nothing about anything. He has no background in health. If he knew anything he would be encouraging people to scrub their hands thoroughly ten times a day, which is infinitely more effective than wearing a mask. But, how would he know that? After all, he is only the health minister.

But those who are feeling sick, who have been with sick people or who have been in an infected area should wear masks. In this sense wearing masks is being a responsible member of society, he said, in comments reported by Bangkok Biz News.
Pretty lame defense. It certainly does not exonerate the incredibly obnoxious, ignorant, unqualified, and racist fool Anutin. Quite the contrary. They, and the WHO are basically saying, if you are feeling well, and you have not been around people who are infected with the virus, a mask is not necessary, nor will it help. What will help, and what Anutin does not know (because he does not come from a medical background, and was appointed entirely based on his family connections) is that washing your hands thoroughly, with a surgical scrub, ten times a day is the best prevention possible, along with trying to avoid touching your mouth, nose and eyes while out in public.
He has not apologized to the foreign tourist and ex-pat community. An apology should be demanded of him. He said he was sorry for losing it. Not sorry for being racist and ranting against people who look different than he does. At this time, with the tourism market decimated even prior to corona, men like this cannot, and should not be tolerated by a nation that gets up to 22% of it's GDP from tourism.
But, having said all of that, the army is very tolerant of super low quality, grossly under qualified, bottom of the barrel ministers.

Is it possible someone had a "conversation" with him already? I tend to think so. He sure changed his attitude. Nothing like the threat of dismissal to make a man behave more reasonably and rationally.

"The same probably applies to the army." They ARE Army without the uniforms! And the same applies to the police! A friend of my Thai wife has a son who wanted to join the police. She was told "Oh, it costs a lot of money to join the police"!
Of course it does. You are buying a franchise, much the same as a 7/11, Taco Bell, etc., but without the hassle or expense of a storefront.

The really sad part is that it seems to be a deliberate attempt to pick from the bottom of the barrel. It seems to be all about nepotism, and cronyism. There is no such thing as merit, when it comes to qualifications, with nearly any of the ministers in this very hapless administration. The same probably applies to the army.

That is some serious hate. Nothing wrong with expressing your opinion but what is bizarre is considering the above, why would you want to live here?
I have a few dozen reasons. All of that dislike is directed at the government, the army, and the ministers. I love most Thai people. It is the leaders that are the real problem here.

No need to get too worked up about this inane tirade. It is likely he will be dismissed fairly soon.
First of all he is the health minister, dealing with health crisis, with absolutely no experience in the field of health. That in itself is a major issue. As long as things were honky dory, not a real issue. But now? His ineptitude and incompetence is alot harder to hide with this emergency situation.
Next, there seem to be at least a few intelligent people within the administration, who do not tolerate this kind of psychobabble. We all saw that with the little Joke, and are likely to see it with little Oud, if he does not treat carefully. After all tourism brings in a substantial amount of money each year.
You do not want to totally bite the hand that feeds you, now do you?

You refuse a gift from me? Don't you know who I am? I nearly always get nothing but deference from my people. You showed me none. How dare you! I am a big guy. A very important man. I am a Govt. minister! Such insubordination.
I sort of hated foreigners before. But now it is just too much. I just cannot deal with someone not treating me like a big wig. Foreigners go home. You do not know who I am!

Burma and the neighboring nations, are now benefitting partially for the fact that Thailand seems to have gone out of their way to make themselves repulsive to alot of people, as a nation. An arrogant person considers himself perfect. This is the chief harm of arrogance. It interferes with a person's main task in life - becoming a better person.

— George Bernard Shaw
“Every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud, adopts as a last resource pride in the nation to which he belongs; he is ready and happy to defend all its faults and follies tooth and nail, thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.”

That is totally bizarre. What is this, the Soviet union in 1952? I would never allow that. I would resist this kind of thing with all my might. What is happening, is that the extreme racism, xenophobia and hatred of foreigners on the part of the hapless, and useless army, is trickling down to some parts of society. This is not a good trend, and does not bode well for the future of the nation, nor for our future here. It is based on total ignorance, as is the case with nearly all the policy coming out of this incompetent and racist administration.

Truth is a very terrible thing in the very white house. And Trump has a real abhorrence to it. Lockstep loyalty is demanded by the master, of his subjects. You must obey. You must tow the line. He commits a crime, and his subjects are expected to protect him. Crime is good, if it is done in the name of re-election.
Trump is a coward, a traitor, a draft dodger, a life long criminal, and a bankruptcy king. And a terrible leader of men.

Depends which real estate markets you're talking about. The United States is not a monolithic market. States and areas attracting healthy migration and business, like Texas, have healthy, increasing real estate market prices.
The prices in New York, which historically have been a bellwether for the rest of the nation, and typically happen about two years prior to the rest of the nation following suit, have been dropping for over a year now. Properties which were selling for near asking prices, and selling within 15 days, are now being discounted by up to 30% or more, and taking an average of 450 days to sell. Same with higher end properties in Los Angeles. Likewise, the rental markets at the higher end, have been dropping in both areas. Just wait. The US is in for some massive financial reckoning. The economy is a house of cards.

And what about the Thai people who do not wear a mask? Will their citizenship be revoked? Does Anutin realize how inane he sounds? Does he understand that Thailand is in the midst of an unprecedented tourism crisis? Does he not have any perception of how harmful these racist rants are? And this coming from a man who has zero experience in the "health" field, and was appointed minister of health. Bizarre. Lame. Dumb. Non-visionary. Inept. Creepy.
Again Prayuth demonstrates how totally ill prepared he is to lead his country, and to deal with anything bordering on a crisis situation. He appoints these clowns. What can one say?

More racist ranting from this toxic administration. He was a former minister of the interior, from a political family. He was appointed purely on cronyism. Where is his "health" background? He speaks with zero authority. He is ignorant and fairly useless.

Nobody knows a thing about his past, nor how Pipat made his fortune. Yet, he knows all. He is a seer, and can predict the future. We all must take comfort, that with his vision and wisdom, the common Thai is being looked after. After all, this administration is a pure meritocracy, right?
For Pipat I offer this advice. The line between ambition and obsession can be much thinner than one might imagine. You would be well served to look down and see exactly where you are standing.

Thai Tourism Ministry considers collecting tourism fees
in Thailand News
Posted
Bear in mind Pipat, the minister, has absolutely no background in the tourism industry.
When you constantly raid the bottom of the barrel for talent, this is what you get.
Thailand is the polar opposite of a meritocracy.
