    Ok guys, I went ahead and booked the court at Sathorn Sponsor Park for 4pm - 6pm tomorrow (Sunday 30th May).

    I've made it at 4pm again for a few reasons:

    -England match is on at 7.15pm tomorrow

    -The rain has been coming mainly around 6pm-8pm the last week

    -It's cooled down a bit and is quite cloudy at the moment, so hopefully it won't be as hot at 4 tomorrow as it was a month ago.

    So, I know a few guys are away or not available this week, but I'm counting in most that were around last week, and hopefully we'll also have a few more now the curfew's over and transport's back to normal etc.

    Can the following guys please reply by email with your phone no.'s, so I/we can contact you if we need to change the venue last minute etc.:

    The only issue for me is that last minute changes can be risky. It might be that not everyone will get the message,

    So long as I've got everyone's mobile phone no. then I'd assume we can avoid the problem of people not getting last-minute messages.

    Ok, here's what I propose:

    -We book to play at the Sathorn place as usual, Sundays at 5pm, until our credit is used up

    -If/when it rains, we change and go to one of the astro turf pitches in Thonglor/Ekkamai - whichever has a pitch available last minute.

    -When our credit at the Sathorn place is used up, or the rainy season makes it futile to even try going there, we book at one of the astro turf pitches in Thonglor/Ekkamai

    How about that?

    If the game is on for Sunday at Sathorn i may not be able to make it.

    Coming back from Koh Chang to On-nut then to Sathorn may be a bit too much considering the England match is on at 7:15pm.

    Adam, if you can update me by text or phonecall i would be very grateful. I am off to Koh Chang tomorrow and not taking my notebook :)

    There is another good Astro pitch on sukumvit 71 soi 21, just after the Nigerian Embassy on the left, its the Arsenal Academy.

    It has several good grounds and always a vacant one. Did i mention the all girls team that kick about there 2wice weekly?

    These pitches look cool and a good price.

    Needless to say, even though it didn't rain Wednesday evening, not enough people (1) were available to play... :D

    Arsenal pitch is indeed an option. It's pretty much same price as Arena10 - 1500 bht an hour.

    Only diff.s are it's a bit further from centre (one more stop on the BTS).

    But it's a bigger pitch - 19m x 27m at Arena 10 vs. 20m x 40m at Arsenal (that's if the website info is accurate - no guarantees on that here obviously!)

    Shame the online booking system doesn't work for either!

    Anyway, yes, we have 2 good options there for astroturf pitches in roughly the same part of town (Thonglor-Ekkamai), at 1500 bht/hr.

    However, real question is:

    -Do we play at Sathorn one this Sunday (for FREE!) to use some of our outstanding credit?

    I know some of you guys probably aren't fussed about the money saved, but some may be (including myself).

    Well, I was going to go to the Sathorn footy place yesterday evening to see about any free slots for playing Wednesday, but it started raining, so didn't.

    Then this evening I went again, and got to the corner of Sathorn at about 7.10pm and it CHUCKED IT DOWN with rain and I got soaked trying to dash back home!

    So... weather reports for Wednesday are exactly the same as last two days with 70% chance of rain ( http://www.tmd.go.th/en/province.php?StationNumber=48455 ) ...

    If 10 people say they're willing to come down and see anyway, I'm fairly sure we'll be able to get a time slot after 7pm (as there's bound to have been a drop-off in bookings) and I'll go there too. But if it rains any time after 6pm, I think we can forget it. As you'll mostly all know, the Sathorn place isn't sheltered and is completely unusable if wet.

    So...?

    Ok, called Sponsor Park manager - Sathorn one is definitely closed till next week!

    So, I reckon Thong Lor one it is then - thanks for that recommend Angus!

    5pm - 6pm?

    -1500 baht total for 1 hour

    -Astro turf pitch, so you'll do better if you've at least got *some* tread on the bottom of your shoes (indoor futsal shoes would probably be a bit slippy)

    Indeed, Sathorn is looking very doubtful for tomorrow! :)

    As usual, I'm up for playing, but then anything that's gonna take an hour's ride in a taxi I simply can't afford.

    The Thong Lor one sounds easiest to me.

    There's also the one kelvin has mentioned before - SoccerPro in South Sathorn - which I think is preferred for me.

    I think, unless there's a drastic change in the atmosphere tomorrow morning, footy at Sthorn will not be happening!

    I was down there earlier this evening and the whole of Sathorn from Rama 4 down to Naradhiwas is closed to traffic and there's much evidence of rioting and vandalism. I also heard fireworks and/or grenade explosions and gunshots coming from around Suan Plu, and the few people in the vicinity of the footy place (and Fraser Suites next door) was taking cover and avoiding crossing the road.

    Too dark (and risky) to take many photos, but the street lights were off so the whole of Sathorn is dark and many of the 'traffic police booths' have been smashed in and vandalised.

    Here's some pics of a bronze statue that used to be on a pedestal at the u-turn/junction opposite Sathorn 6 and the Metro Sathorn apartment building. It had been ripped off it's pedestal (quite a feat considering it looks like it'd be f*ckin heavy - 5ft high and made of metal) and put in the middle of the road and set on fire.:

    Hi guys,

    just saw this thread. I am really interested in coming along. I really miss playing!!

    I can join most weeks but occasionally i have to travel to Surin for work. I will give notice though.

    Are you still looking for players? I appreciate that you won't be playing until the protests end but i would love to come along and join you all. Not too bad an outfield player but a better goal keeper!
