  1. you know this feeling, when you got a clean toilett in your home in bkk,

and you don`t like to use other toiletts ?

You like to go in your home without shoes, and you enjoy it, that you don`t use a belt,

cause at home, only a short is covering you, and you feel very relaxed.

  2. the situation is horrible

Pattaya launched public hearings into proposals to rebuild Pattaya Beach and mitigate future erosion.

Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome said the June 20 session was the first of three planned to allow the public to hear and give feedback on the two proposals being considered to restore and enlarge Pattaya Beach, which experts say will disappear within five years if nothing is done to stop erosion.

The two proposals call for rebuilding the beach with sand from the Rayong Estuary. The first, which would be simply a refill of sand, would cost about 300 million baht and be good for about 10 years of use, Itthiphol said.

The second, estimated to cost 500 million baht, involves using sandbags to build an underwater breakwater to divert the currents and lessen the impact of high tides. Officials estimate it would last no less than a decade.

Residents pointed out that Pattaya Beach - particularly at the Dusit Curve - may be the hardest hit by erosion, but that Jomtien Beach is also suffering. Near the Poo Pen Restaurant at the far end of Jomtien, for example, all the sand is gone. Itthiphol said the initial projects target Pattaya only and Jomtien would be a second-phase project.

Lead engineer Supot Jarulakkana said the city has been scouting various areas to find sand most alike to that on Pattaya Beach. The leading candidate is from the Rayong Estuary. Pattaya’s sand granules are on average 0.5 mm thick and Rayong’s are 0.58 thick. There is a high probability the two are interchangeable, Supot said.

The engineer estimated 600,000 kg. of sand from Rayong will be needed. Initial plans call for it to be hauled via barge and laid into ten 300-meter spans from north to south Pattaya from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. each night for 18 months.

Itthiphol noted, however, these are still early days for any beach-rescue effort and all plans must be approved by the National Office of Policy and Environment and the Marine Department.

another problem, the pollution of the sea

  3. and the second reason might be,

Red is the color of blood…not that the spirits are just out for blood, but blood is the source of life. When Thai people offer the Red Fanta, they believe they are giving a drink to the spirits that offers them life and vitality.

Green Fanta was produced in Japan 1991 the first time.

  4. Max Keith, was the chief der Coca-Cola GmbH in Essen, Germany, during WWII.

Based on shortage of the coke ingredients, the coke production came to an end.

While the nazis wanted a simliar product

Dr Schetelig invented 1942 a drink, with the name Fanta.

The name Fanta comes from ‘fantasie’ which is German for ‘imagination’.

After 1962, the coke company introduced Fanta on the world market.

When the King of Thailand said, Red Fanta is his preferred drink,

Red Fanta has been officially endorsed by the King of Thailand

the success of Fanta Red was established.

(still looking about the time schedule)

  5. remembering the years in Thailand in the early 90th.,

there was no fanta deng and fanta keau on the market,

but nam deng and nam keau was available in bigger bottles on the market,

thai used small coke bottles for the same thing.

I never saw a glass with nam deng,

so I think, a small minimized portion is suiting the ritual.

  6. theres not only the difference between Austrian, German and Swiss Food,

also the german food is prepared different, depending on the regional cuisiene.

    Berliner Bistro, Soi 13

Naklua Soi 33 new german restaurants are opening every 3 month (and also closing)

"Bei Gerhard" Soi 31 Naklua Road,

this restaurant is the main meetingpoint of german expats in pattaya.

sometimes, the thai service-girls are not very well instructed by german non-thai-speaking restaurant owners

  7. look for a Digital Satellite Receiver with PVR (USB recording)

sat receiver where you can record your videos on a plug in usb stick, are standard in europe,

the main problem is, to know, that not every recorded vdo stream signal can also used on your pc.

a company, like technisat, is producing sat receivers with a recorded video stream signal on your usb stick, that is readable for your computers vlc Player,

but speaking about thailand, where can you find sat receivers, with the same technical standarts ?

The time for upgrading to an HD Satellite Receiver is on stand by,

so choose a modell with PVR (USB recording)

  8. there were some 300 women at the restaurant but most managed to flee.

300 women, saam loi deosn t mean 300, it means an unknown number of woman,

The Thai readers of the Nation will understand this.

What an amazing Farang you are....

    300, Sarm-Roi ( สาม - ร้อย ), does not mean 300.... ?

Just where did you finish your higher Thai language learning..,.? :ermm:

I am one amongst the many of the Nation readers.... but I do not understand your Thai very much.... perhaps, I could be the one... more handicapped than most.... :whistling:

It is very much akin to many Thai including many Thai teachers who profess to speak English language....

I can definitely vouch that they all surely can speak English, each and everyone of them as a matter of fact....

However, the most difficult part is.... though hard as they try to do their best to speak English.... but native Farang just find it difficult to understand what they are trying hard to convey to the Farang....

On the contrary, though Farang could not make out what they mean.... but

other Thai nationals have no problem understanding and interpreting what was said.... :D

Shame, shame, shame.... Farang "key-noke...." ( ขี้ นก -- bird excretion ).... a crude Thai slang .... to tease Farang.... unkindly....

So sorry, didn t check out, that some high profile thai language experts wanted to give a lesson.

as you said, other Thai nationals have no problem ... interpreting what was said.

Shure, its always about interpreting, as you cannot translate Thai 2 english 1 : 1, cause there are different meanings of the words, and, remebering king Lear, Word and Matter are not always the same, so you have to interpret.

30 woman, 300 woman, why not 3.000 woman are in this restaurant ?

So shame on the thai police, being unable to arrest the other 295 woman in the restaurant ?

    what a joke, จริงไม่จริง ???

  9. there are always 2, cause they work with an informer, whos checking out, if the chain is real.

The informer needs a close look on the gold, and is giving the sign.

  10. Sorry but your post was too criptic for me :)

the story how Thaksin got his resident permit revoked?

Suthichai Yoon has some details in english, but its little bit more complex.

    http://suthichaiyoon.blogspot.com/2009/06/...his-german.html

the "scandal" wasn't much of a scandal.

it got exposed by a backbencher buffoon of a small liberal opposition party who has no clue how diplomacy works. like the local congressman you get if you live deep country side. a member of parliament, his work includes also some SEA relations and he comes to thailand for the annual mixed pickles and sauerkraut fair to met local expats and middle class contacts. actually a nobody. that he was the 'wistle blower' and his name isn't even mentioned in the press that that case got.

but without him Thaksin would probably still have his resident permit for Germany.

Werner Maus was a kind of James Bond for the german CIA (=BND) for over 40 years, his various ID cards are back uped by the BND, but his official status is something like a freelancer.

He is used by undercover operations, when the BND could not beeing involved in this matter.

(speculation on, the story was like this : Thaksin contaced Siemens in Munich, having some usefull information for futher contract matters with the skytrain in bkk.

Siemens was interested, and Thaksin ask for some visa assistance, Siemens had some close conections to the BND, ((cause the US uses the echelon sat system for economic spying against western partners)). BND said, we can`t help offical, but we send you our trouble shooter and freelancer, Werner Maus.)

So Thaksin got his visa, lived many month in germany, till the story was on the headline, and Berlin politicians were looking like fools, cause they didn`t know about. beside one bavarian politician from Munich, who is on the payrole from Siemens, and other bavarian Companies.

So, Berlin placed Thaksin on the list, as persona non grata, and cancelled his visa.
