  1. Just got back from yet another short trip for another 90 day stay using Non-O ME visa from Savan. Went through DMK for a quick roundturn and smooth sailing yet again. Almost no wait across all passport queues in both directions with friendly airport IO that never hassle. Sure beats going into the local gestapo for harassment, dirty looks and disrespect (with the exception of Hua Hin, very professional there). Will likely never bother with “temporary” extensions again.
  2. Back on Non-O ME visas for now after our latest experience with an IO office upcountry. They were so disrespectful to us it made my Thai wife walk out and cry. We reported the incident to head division office and nothing came of it (of course). I may look to do retirement visa in a few years when I qualify. No elite visa ever. Wont line their pockets. Enjoying taking the short breaks from Thai anyway. Did 2 back to back annual extensions in Hua Hin and no problems or issues. The IO was very professional and friendly. Can’t say the same for Issan IO Punks..
  3. Already loving being back on a Non-O visa. Just took my 1st 90 day trip and upon returning i hadn’t needed to say a single word to these animals. I’ll never go back to extensions and forced a trip to the Stasi for interrogation.
  4. Lao IOs wanted 100 baht from me both ways as well and I had eVisa. Not a big deal but yeah ripping another few bucks off from people without it being posted or given a receipt is massively corrupt.
  5. I can only imagine with all the Russian and Chinese “refugees” at that office. Used an agent once for my extension there and that was the last I ever dealt with that office. Back to Non-O ME visas so that I don’t have to meet with the serpents. Dealing with these offices just gets worse as each year passes. Thought about Elite Visa but it doesn’t get you off of TM30 and 90 day reports so just a big BS ripoff.
  6. Or bypass doing all this BS, get a new Non-O ME visa in Savannakhet and enjoy a holiday from Thailand every 90 days to unwind. The list of requirements for these “temporary extensions” are simply ludicrous and totally unnecessary for those who are here taking care of their wives & families.
  7. Another good reason to be back on Non-o ME visas instead of annual extensions. We dont care for these goons stepping one foot on our property. The last 2 covid bound extensions were fine for us as the IO was cool and did the home visit over LINE video call. Im sure our new office IO would be downright a$$holes demanding a “tip” here as well..
  8. No issues for me last month as well and in prior years pre-covid, a total breeze. 2 years of annual visa extensions recently went fine and without a hitch until we relocated to a new province and found the Immigration officers to be very rude, argumentative, demanding and disrespectful just for following the law and submitting TM30. More then glad to make the jump to Savan every year again to avoid dealing with these a$$holes.
  9. Yes you need a cultivation license for anything over 10 plants personal use. Your partner can go to the nearest Ministry of Public Health office and ask for the cannabis liaison. They will instruct her on all various requirements. You better hurry and get a license now because if the government elections change to new leadership with anti-cannabis platform, they will not allow new licenses to be issued or obtained.
  10. Yep, no issues for NON-O ME based on marriage to Thai Citizen. I would have wife sign all relevant copies though as well. Don’t go on a Monday, its mayhem.
  11. Both times I had a new passport, I just let them transfer the stamp at the airport while leaving with embassy letter in hand. Yes they will pull you aside and take you to the desk to do the transfer but both times took less then 5 minutes. I try not to step into any offices anymore as IOs have gotten far worse attitudes lately.
  12. I had 12 consecutive Non-O ME visas, not all on the same PP but yes, no limit, no questions ever asked.
  13. Yes she will need to be present. When we went to CW a while back for a 60 day, they wanted my wife to sign a guarantor document attesting that we were still married along with us being photographed holding up our respective marriage certificates. They did not require an updated KR2 going this route.
  14. After doing non-o extensions the last 2 years due to covid border restrictions, I have done the same visa run to Savan as immigration at our new local office was quite unwelcoming and overly rude and angry toward us for whatever reason. Submitted all of the same as OP but Laos eVisa printout was returned, didn’t seem like they needed it. Was told 5000 baht within a minute and was given a return receipt. Couple of tips for anyone looking to ditch extensions and just get a Non-o ME visa in Savan: - Apply for a Laos eVisa. It will make your arrival into Lao faster and they only apply a small stamp in your passport instead of a full page visa. Together with the arrival stamp, it will take only a 1/4 page of your passport instead. - Rent a motorbike if you can as any tuk-tuk or taxi will be 200 baht to take you anywhere. We paid 350 baht for a day to rent and it beats hanging in the hotel all day and night. - Internet this time and last was terrible. I have a roaming package through DTAC and jumped on Unitel 4G which works very good, fast.
