Re Entry Permit at C/W
marin replied to Cuchulainn's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Photocopies of your passport pages + the form to apply is a wheelbarrow of paperwork? Not if you have just done your retirement visa. It was so easy. 10 minutes max from submission to return of passport. Dont forget the 4x6 centimeter photo. -
All the Good Mangoes Must Be in Macau?
marin replied to FriscoKid's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Here in Central Thailand it has been peak mango season for over a month now, and it will continue for almost a month more. Best time of year and the sweetest and creamiest are now. Its also a bumper crop year so prices are great. -

I think I talked to you about how long you had to wait. I was the 2:00pm appointment and set next to you for a moment after you had seen the IO and were waiting. Small world. -
He is reporting and doing this at Changwattana. The head immigration office in the country. Nothing is going anywhere other than from desk to desk.

Extension (retirement) rules change?
marin replied to DanChang's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Say does anyone know, for a retirement extension at CW you need a map from your house to the Immigration office. I have one, but it sure seems a Google map print out would be as good if not better. Are Google maps being accepted these days? -
Ignorance is Bliss ... Thank you.

You need to have a re-entry permit if you are on a long stay visa or extension. If you dont have it and leave the country your visa is over. You can get a multiple entry anytime at an immigration office for 3,800 baht. Or you may buy single re-entry permits for 1000 Baht. These can be obtained at an immigration office, or if left late at both Don Muang and Suwannabumi Airports. There is a charge for photos and filling in the forms at the airports. Leave with no re-entry permit your visa is finished.

It would be hard to keep up with the OP. He is often on 100+ posts a day. A firm believer in quantity over quality. Posting is his life its all he does. He even outdoes bob smith et al.

But that is never checked. To my amazement her twin sister managed to do just what you said is illegal. Tired from the long flight she just pulled out her passport and gave it to IO, but it was the US passport. At that time stamped in for one month. She was staying 25 days so she just left on the US passport. I could not believe she spaced out and did that. Thai passport in her purse the whole time.

Two years ago my daughter returned to Thailand with both a US and Thai passport. But both the Thai passport and ID were expired. The IO advised her to enter on her American as it was valid. She said "No" I am going from the airport to the Amphur office to get a new ID, then I will go to the Passport Office on CW and get a new passport. So was entered on the Thai passport that was expired. But told " You now have to renew your Thai passport in order to leave the country". The new ID took 30 minutes, 1 hour in the passport office and a new one came via EMS in 3 days, so no worries.
