No it is not. I dont believe you have spent any amount of time in Bangkok outside of the touristy areas. Stop it with danger in the city. You simply dont know. The way you have lived up in the northeast has given you little knowledge of Thai life. For example the problem with drugs in specific Yaba is more confined to the villages of Isaan not so much the city of BKK. I know of no gangs here and have never felt fear walking in any part of Bangkok for over 35 years now. In reality I prefer the countryside to the city, but circumstances have us here. We do have our 1 rai free and clear 900 meters up in Pakchong for ultimate retirement.

It was my experience this morning. My mistake was in not taking a picture of the announcement, I will be going shopping Saturday near there again and get the photo and post it up. -
Combined car+motorcycle Thai driver's license not possible?
marin replied to farrol's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
When you go to DLT Chatujack you will be asked for a residence certificate even if you have a yellow book. I was only answering the poster I quoted. -
Combined car+motorcycle Thai driver's license not possible?
marin replied to farrol's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Perhaps where you live. At the main DLT office Chatujak it is required. I have had the yellow book 27 years and every 5 years I have to go get a residence certificate at Changwattana Immigration in order to renew my license. -

It is BS being that before Covid the American Services at the embassy were great. Fast in person service for passports. Well the only good thing about the US process is the fee is $130.00 usd. I see Australians are now paying $412.00 ad -

This is the problem bro, I was at EMS Center on Changwattana at 9:00am today and was told no along with two others, one being a Thai/American citizen so there were no translation problems. The one lady that could speak basic English pointed to the sign that was very clear. US embassy does not accept passport documents vis EMS you must go to DHL. We all walked away. -

What makes it even worse is you can no longer talk to a human at the embassy or American Services. It must be a major emergency. If you email them they do reply, but you cant even reply to the email. I think I am going to email and advise them to let the American Community know of these changes. A 15 minute job turned into 3.5 hours today. -

Some big changes affecting how you mail your US passport in for renewal. 1. You may no longer use Thai Post EMS. They have signs up that as of September 2024 you must go to DHL. But not any DHL, only the ones the accept E commerce tracking. The big one near me in Muang Thong Thani does not and it has the best English speaking staff around. They only do international, So be careful you buy the Courier Pass Back envelope from Thai Post, but you cannot send to the embassy with Thai Post EMS. Only DHL and only DHL that accept E-Commerce packaging. -
Hey if you dont pull this one off come back next time as Pinocchio, that one might stick for awhile.

Seriously my friends something nefarious may very well have happened to bob and Colin. Is it in anyway possible that this "Elvis" guy could have something to do with bob and Colins departure? Possibly wanting to revel in all the limelight? Elvis where are bob and Colin and are they safe?
-
I reckon Bob and Colin hooked up for a trip and tour of Graceland. We very well be seeing the result of this journey. 🤣
-
Where are you Elvis? It seems not in Thailand as the air is clean and the weather is cool throughout Thailand today.

Will Immigration take my bottle of duty-free away?
marin replied to pollyog's topic in Suvarnabhumi Airport Forum
If she is checked though and remains in transit while at BKK before boarding for HKT not a problem one. If she has one ticket to BKK and clears customs to go check in for her flight to Phuket then she has a problem. She will be subject to domestic flight regulations. -

For that it would depend on what level of Thai society you are dealing with. -

I like the way you think and thanks. So I purchased the Courier Pass Back, what was confusing is that I gave my address here in BKK for delivery. I now see that the Pass Back is sent to the US embassy. Thai Post wanted my address so the embassy can mail it back to me. So I will include this. Pretty amazing you cant even talk to the US embassy American Services about this, to me its just not clear. -

Yes I see that and that is the problem. I have an invoice # and am having the Courier pass sent to my home, but it seems I should send it to the US Embassy, as it states, Prepaid envelope cant be accepted if applying in Thailand. Kind of confusing. Anybody done it recently? -

I am confused about one thing on the US passport online process. Regarding the Courier Pass Back from Thailand Post. Do I have that sent to me and forward it to the US embassy or do I have that sent to the US embassy? I have printed the forms and paid for the passport already, and want to get this going Thanks -
Got up early and had a run, so nice and cool. Was famished so cooked up a quick breakfast. Left over baked potato changed into home fries with some onion. Found a small pork chop in the freezer and bingo 40 minutes later eating.

Talking to Thais, have you ever had "Pow Wow" moments?

Seems strange , usually the people ( leftists) who despise racists are ok with people who are Anti American? I guess you are calling the pot kettle black though and are transphobic and homophobic ? Two or our "sharper" members using all their intellect to get their points across. 5555 -

You are being aggressively disingenuous right now, fact! To have even brought this up shows something. We are discussing a Serbian immigrant to Canada and his trolling and you come up with "disingenuous." Who has an agenda? Only you....
