British drug dealer arrested after his suspicious behaviour in Phuket
marin replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
No you did not, you got propofol, "milk" the sleeping agent that killed Michael Jackson. Common here in Thailand. Fentanyl is used as the ultimate in pain relief in hospitals. -

SO who of you guys live in Thailand?
marin replied to still kicking's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I have stayed in Patong only once 1979. Had one road through the town. I took songthaews to the southern end of the island and found the Kata/Karon area which I preferred to Patong even back then. If going to Phuket now I avoid Patong and go via Chalong to the southern end. Saying that have not been in 5 years. -

Seems to me that photo is from the bottom up Kata Noi, Kata, and Karon Beaches. I do not see Patong at all. -

I must say my main criteria for a good piece of fish is the batter is crispy and a minimum of oil, same goes for the chips. IMHO that is impossible with a take a way as the steam from being sealed one two or three times will cause the "mushy" effect. Old boomer here eats my fried food in the restaurant. Cheers, and you have me thinking about a good fish and chips now.

Twice-per-second Bleeping Bird: What's it good for?
marin replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Seems to me you have what I call a gawu bird, but the real name is here. Sadly two are now near my house as well. Wife can shut them up with a slingshot. Nature’s Alarm Clock A.k.a That F$%#ing Annoying Bird. That is the Asian Koel. If you don’t live in Asia it won’t mean much to you. If you do then you will probably have heard these birds which are especially vocal during mating season. And right now it’s the time of year for Koh Chang’s horny Asian Koel population to make their voice heard. It’s all very nice being woken up by the sound of bird calls when they are of the cute, tweeting variety. But, it’s an entirely different matter when you have a loud, repetitive ‘Koo-Ooooo’ at 4am in the morning. It wouldn’t be so bad if the range of these birds calls was limited to a small area, but it isn’t. You can hear them from a kilometer away. ( They are members of the Cuckoo family ) I’ve heard them in the city centre in Bangkok – above traffic noise. So, you can imagine if you are in quiet surroundings and a lovesick male suddenly pipes up from a tree outside your room, or from a tree 100 metres away, you won’t be getting much sleep. Fortunately, the mating season is only a couple of months long – on Koh Chang from mid-December to February. "IamKohChang" -

Oh boy, one of those "guys with an agenda". The kind of person who not only does not have a clue about Thai food, but the society and culture as well.

Chantaburi is not Bangkok, you have nothing to worry about, but I would bet you will.

Add two more photos of Sirinthorn Dam, nice views and you can drive around the area. They also have a skywalk for free where you view the solar farm.

Perfect question. Yes the province of Ubon is really nice. We were just up there over Christmas and had just a great time. Here are a few photos of our 5 day trip. First off we stayed the first two night in Trakan Phuet Phon a small amphur north of the city. My close friend Dang has just moved back from the states to retire there, built himself a nice place. We stayed in the gray guest house. Then continued on to Chong Mek on the Lao border to visit Sirinthorn temple, and see the strange rocks they used that shimmer florescent green after the sun goes down. Great view of Sirinthorn lake from there. Then touring the area to see the rapids on the Moon river, the spot where the Mekhong and Moon meet known as Song Sri as one river is brown the other bluish. The last night at Blue Moon River Resort a quiet and cute place in Amphur Paibun where we relaxed, ate, and drank red in the cool 18 degree evening right on the river.

People's Party Takes Lead Over Pheu Thai in Latest Nida Poll
marin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
People Party is very active all over the country. They are actively campaigning in both Udon and Ubon for PAO races. Not winning but getting a lot more votes than ever before. Not only every province, but also every amphur, and even tambon they have people in. Here is way out in Ubon at my friends house. A PP home.
