Crash helmet is too tight around the jaw...
MaiDong replied to MaiDong's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
Exactly why I was asking here for the experiences of your respective spouses, considering most of them are going to be Thai ladies, many of whom have different shaped heads to us ???? -
Crash helmet is too tight around the jaw...

No modifications are possible on this helmet, in this case anyway, it's simply that the cheek/jaw liners are too padded for my wife's face. As I said in my OP though, we'll be going helmet shopping shortly, I was just asking for any recommendations here first, to save having to spend too much time in public. -

What about the poppers that connect the liner to the foam? Ignore that^, the poppers can't be moved, I've just checked. -

She's worn it half a dozen times on trips of more than 1 hour, still the same after all that time. -

Exactly, that's why I'm asking if anybody's wife or gf has had similar problems, and what helmets were chosen. -

The liner comes out but as someone else has said, there's just the shock absorbing foam behind it, I can't hack away at that as the liner has poppers that hold it in place. -

We have open face helmets for local trips, this helmet is for long trips. -

It's got nothing to do with the strapping, it's the cheek liner padding, as stated in my OP. -
I bought a couple of Scorpion ADX-1's for my wife & I, I bought them specifically because they had good reviews regarding venting, and I have to say that they're excellent in this respect! However, the padding is too tight for my wife around her jaw, after 1 hour she feels like the padding has pushed all the blood into the top of her head, and unfortunately the only way we can get smaller padding for this helmet is by going up 1 helmet size, and from the photo you can tell that that's not the best idea, as it's already pretty large on her little form... We'll be going helmet shopping in a day or so, has anybody else's wife/gf had this problem? What helmet did you settle on?

New 20-baht polymer banknotes to enter circulation on March 24

UK notes used to ping out of peoples pockets, my gaze will be firmly on the pavements of Thailand when these come into circulation! -

Trip to Laos for new Non Imm O visa
MaiDong replied to MaiDong's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Non O was for visiting family (Son, and Wife on all previous applications, but oddly, they found our Sons birth certificate first, so used that as reason to issue me my last visa...) I didn't qualify for annual extensions when my visa was still valid. My hope is to obtain a multi O in Savannakhet, yes. Financials are the issue, but agents aren't my preferred option, I'll continue to get the covid extension whilst I can. So my question remains - as the borders are open, albeit with all the shenanigans required - has anybody obtained a new Non O in Laos(Savannakhet) recently? -

Hence my question if anybody has done it recently(Savannakhet), as it seems the air borders are in fact open, but of course the whole vaccine/negative test results/quarantine thing remains. -

My non imm O expired, I'm now on covid extensions. That's why I was enquiring about Laos, not PP. Have I misunderstood your reply or have you misunderstood my OP? -

5 hours and no replies, I'll take that as a 'no' then. -

Nearly two months have passed since I started this thread, I was wondering, has anybody managed a trip to Laos - including a successful Non-Imm O visa application yet? -
Agree with above about finding the cause. I normally use E45 cream from the UK but due to zero travel between UK & Thailand I've started using Sudocream, you can buy it on Lazada, it's VERY effective against itchy/dry skin, it goes a long way too, and is only mildly lavender scented.

It's no help to this poor lady, but whenever I'm in an elevated position and relying on handrails or balustrades, I either give them a kick or a palm to check their sturdiness, I don't trust any structures at all here.

Digital Tech to Boost Standard of Living in Thailand
MaiDong replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There's an interesting article in the capitals newspaper from the 14th Dec, regarding crypto regulation in Thailand, and judging by the content of the regulations, it seems that there's a certain limit on how much of a boost the citizens of Thailand will actually be allowed to boost their standard of living with, such as not being able to use crypto as a means of payment, not sure what they see it's use for then, perhaps they're running scared? Doesn't seem very 'Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, Smart City Thailand Office, and Digital Economy Promotion Agency' to me ???? -

I've had that view of people in government for a long time, I try to shake it off now and then, imagining that I've been too much of a cynic, but it's just so obvious that I can't believe people believe it themselves, it's just so OBVIOUSLY BS!! -

And that's just the beginning! Education next! Real changes needed immediately. If nothing changes then the leaders have failed.
