  1. ,only Tottenham out of all the clubs have shown a marked improvement and played some good stuff.

    :)

Quite right Mr B-J a mention should also be made for the potential UEFA Cap winners Fulham who have improved steadily this season.

    :D

    And........... :D

I'm sure City will continue to improve again next year. Let's hope its at the expense of the Arse. :D

Let's all hope they can finish the job on Wednesday night! :D

  3. SNP as a left of center party is all for Independance (possibly one day even a Republic) with full EU registration and it makes sense to try as above although agree rather unlikely .....but u never know.

Incid should/when it happens ..one day ..England by default will also be an Independant cuntry although cant image "em ever ditching the family at the end of the Mall.... :)

Indeed. And when England becomes independent it will face a long period of Tory rule. :D

Scotland will not necessarily ditch the Royals btw well we quite like our rugby supporters... :D

  4. Scottish elders rebuking sin - well done! Should I pour ash over my head and should mea culpa?

Tales of Suvarnabhumi airport shake downs come to mind.

4 cartons = stupid but not the crime of the century. And now tell me are they throwing some old woman into the slammer over this until the 18,700 (first 44,XXX) is paid? Oh, it's the racial thing again? Bein Thai versus being a farang? Or having an ATM card which can be maxed out?

Wait until you get blackmailed and driven by armed guys to an ATM. Wait till you have to sign stuff and have no clue what you are signing. Wait and see that they won't let you make that phone call to the embassy - then let's discuss this again.

The economic and other stupidity of it all (360 Baht purchase price, what a bargain) is kinda obvious, isn't it? Rub it in, you who won't make mistakes.

You've been unfortunate to get caught but would you run the risk again? :)

  5. Its all about Democracy...init....wot the reds in Thailand are tryng for....and personally I have enjoyed the whole thing. :)

Anyway the latest situation is that the 2 Multi millonaire leaders (and buddys of K.Abbi) Cam-Cleggy are trying to make a deal with each other to try and form a wee cabal....eg..Scrap our Nuc Subs ..... Amnesty for ALL illegal Immigrants...splutter splutter......proportional representation ....join fully with Europe:P

Torys tend towards.. lets say the more "redneck" factions in our society and are reluctant to play this game.

SNP have suggested an alliance with the welsh N /LDs/Labour but unlikely.....lets see.... roll on the weekend.

To hear the SNP suggesting a pact with Labour is hilarious when you consider how much they've been at loggerheads with the current Government via the Scottish Parliament. I guess they feel the Tories may be even less sympathetic to the welfare culture north of the border.

  6. Hearing about the changes to Cable TV made me realise I'm likely to be reading even more books when I return to Samui next month.

Just wanted to mention the library service at the Wave in Chaweng which is my favourite spot for finding something to read as well as being a decent pub.

Also like the bookshop at Cheong Mon beach but any other recommendations would be welcome.

    Cheers.

  7. Meat. There is a special sausuage that you can only get here that my mum loves. So I pack a few of those in my luggage.

I know it is against the law, but what the hel_l.

Same when i come back i have a suitcase filled with bacon, sausages, haggis, cheddar etc.

I just go through the green channel with my angelic smile - works all the time.

And don't tell me you have not done it....

Guilty! And Bangkok Airways codeshares have made it even easier...! :)

  8. I'm planning to spend a few days on Koh Tao in July. Looking for decent accomodation up to around 1500 Baht a night preferably a place on the beach and with a few options in the evening without having to drive around. Also any recommendations for doing a PADI Open Water course would be welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

  9. Once the new PM is installed it should creep up a bit. And when interest rates go up, the pound should go with it.

Let's hope the Tories and Lib Dems come to a workable agreement or things will go from bad to worse especially if the deal is with Labour. What a disaster that would be.... :)

I don't think that will happen, "Disaster", I think a deal is on the cards with the Cons and Lib...erty takers

As for a "Hung Parliament", quite a few of em want hanging IMO after the expenses scandal and throwing in a duck pond... :D

Yes it seems at best the UK electorate will be forced to reject PR system. Let's hope they make the right choice. I suppose this had to happen eventually and an economic crisis has unfortunately created the right circumstances for these chancers.

  10. I've always been a fan of Scholes, but come on, he's at the end of a long illustrious career, a long season, he's already looking tired, his tackling is now atrocious and you are seriously suggesting he should be in the England midfield. What he would bring to the game is a lot of red/yellow cards :)

Beckham has nothing to do with the issue. Obviously he's injured but he is still the best dead ball specialist and his crossing is way better than the others.

To me Carrick is the obvious choice.

Fair point regarding his tackling ability but hes a far better passing game and he reads the game well. Carrick is just wooden by comparison.

  11. Even as a United and a Scholes fan, i think taking him to the World Cup would be a sign of desperation. I also don't think he would accept, even if asked.

Why desperation. He's still a better player than Carrick and Beckham would have been on the plane if not for injury. But you're right he would likely say no.

I don't think the fact that Beckham would have been on the plane if not for injury proves very much, apart from the fact that we are a bit desperate.

In his day Scholes was a better player than Carrick no doubt, but Scholes is at the tail-end of his career now and Carrick is in his prime - or at least should be!

Well its your team rix not mine I would just pick the best player on view regardless mate. :)

  12. Gerard does NOT deserve his place due to his experience. However i've yet to hear of a better choice put forward by his detactors.

Scholes is not an option. He's an veteran premier league squad player who would'nt accept the call anyway.

Oh pardon me carmine I should have realised England are blessed with a wealth of top midfielders playing at the best clubs in Europe.

Other countries will scratch their heads in wonder at the ageist attitudes here in fact the Italians would have no problem with playing a veteran as long as he was the best choice. The youngsters simply aint good enough that's why no one can suggest an alternative to Gerrard.

  13. Even as a United and a Scholes fan, i think taking him to the World Cup would be a sign of desperation. I also don't think he would accept, even if asked.

  14. Ok, it's revision time, here's mine..

    Green/James/Hart

    A Cole/Terry/Ferdinand/King/Jagielka/Johnson/Richards

    Barry/Lampard/Gerrard/J Cole/Carrick/Lennon/Milner/Walcott

    Defoe/Rooney/Crouch/Bent/C Cole

    That's the 23... :)

Better take Barry off your list Singer and while you are at it get rid of Gerrard and Carrick as neither of them has any kind of form over the last few months.

    Defoe too according to Smokie..

I just giess we're lucky neither of you 2 are the England Manager.. :D

Rooney and Crouch are his picks for up front no doubt about that. The rest are either poor or untested at international level. Defoe would have been an easy pick in January but he's just been poor since then.

Gerrard is a great player and deserves his place simply due to the experience he brings to the squad. Carrick is a question mark but I still say Capello should give Scholes a call. He's been in great form lately.

  15. im sitting of shetland just now on a boat

Is that the correct spelling? or should it be "i" instead of "e" perhaps.

An ignorant comment from someone who has never visited or perhaps a disgruntled Orcadian.....

I was looking at the big picture perhaps you need drink to stimulate the old cells a boozer perhaps :)

Ah yes found my specs at last. Sorry I hadn't considered England as well. :D

Looks like its going to be very close for the Tories.
