  1. http://www.patient.co.uk/doctor/Churg-Strauss-Syndrome.htm

    http://www.medicinenet.com/churg-strauss_s...ome/article.htm

"... in particular, occurs in patients with a history of asthma or allergy and features inflammation of blood vessels (also referred to as angiitis) in the lungs, skin, nerves, and abdomen. The blood vessels involved in Churg-Strauss syndrome are small arteries and veins."

cannot beleive that his inssurence will not cover him. what is the point of inssurence. unless he ticked no for do u have asthma but then why would he or the inssurence is usless anyway.

just want to know which company he is with so i know not to go to them

Most insurance on the net will simply ask you if you are fit and well. A reminder to anyone to seek guidance from the insurers before travelling.

Unfortunately too late in this case. :)

  2. OMG I'm starting to get paranoid now with all this talk of camaras, infra red, locks and bolts! :)

Saying that the only thing that belongs to us in our house that is worth stealing is my boyfriends PS3, and come to think about it, I wouldn't be bothered if it did get stolen anyway :D lol

I got burgled a few years ago in Fisherman's Village. They took a couple of old phones and my electric toothbrush (minus the charger). :D

Lucky I wasn't home at the time but the worst thing was the thought that they had been watching me for days maybe just opportunistic though.

Shook me up a bit at the time however you get over these things and never had a problem since. Now where's my wooden stick??....

  3. Victor, send him another message on Facebook and invite him to join this thread. Should help kill the boredom while it is raining.

good idea, I'll do that now

I'm sticking around for this. Let's hope he shows up! :)

  4. Sure, a long tail is possible, I know many people who have done it. Slow. Uncomfortable. But certainly doable. Why anyone would want to do it is another question altogether.

But for most business people on Koh P, the Full Moon is the busiest time of the month and nobody I know who owns a business on the island has the time the day after the party.

Perfectly understandable. Just unfortunate timing thats all. Certainly when we have another get-together this issue will be taken into account. :)

  5. post-62645-1272817646_thumb.jpgBack to Western Food in Thailand:-

I get some very tasty Wiltshire Bacon from Asia West Foods in Bangkok. Decent thickness of meat with a bit of fat for those who like their rind.

Looks delicious! Where can I get some next time I'm in Bangkok?

Sorry smokie, this one was served up in Buriram.

I am sure if you check out Asia West website they will have information on outlets they supply (or call Matt)

the banger doesnt half look bad either, chaimai.

where did you get that one from?

i must say you look a better man than i, for the amount you put on your plate. i have to go the full works if im at the healm in the kitchen.

btw while we are on the subject.

do your better halfs like a fry up. my misses loves one.

:) Most women are hopeless when it comes to cooking a fried breakfast but I've yet to meet a lassie who didn't enjoy one!

  7. i get what your saying smokie.

one of the problems with smithfield when talking to a couple of mates on my last visit back to the u.k. is that the powers that be are trying their damdest to make life difficult for the traders. that with the fact that they get hit with having to pay the daily rate for driving in the capital when they leave work doesnt help. they are sure theres some big fat investors waiting in the wings to by the land the site is on. as soon as someone in the know gives them the go ahead to lines his or her pockets in the process.

what they are forgetting though is that the markets been around for hundreds of years and is part of our heritage in london. its part of what makes the place special, to see some of the barrow boys that have been working there since they left school at a young age. they add to the character of the place. peolpes livelyhoods and family business depend on it. wouldnt change it for the world! the amount of times ive been caught round the mush at 3 a.m, on a monday morning with a pig, cow or lamb carcase by one of your lot(spurs fan) rigging me about the results over the weekend.

they have done a good thing with borough market and rejuvenated it, but its gone all lardy dar know and full of tourists. a bit like what they have done with good old camden town market on a saturdays and sundays.

Very true. When I first moved to the Borough in the early 90's I used to walk my dog past the market every day and there were only 3 fruit and veg stalls left. The place was close to dying and the market there had been around for donkeys years.

Its certainly gone the other way now and is full of ponces but still has some great grub. I make sure I get what I want and leave by 10am.

I've been to Smithfield many times having worked at Barts for a few years and the place was always great fun and had a real vibe to it. I doubt that's changed but they need to adapt and learn from what's been done over the water imho. :)

Edit: Sorry for going way off topic.

  8. Glad you can poke a bit of fun about serious interest in your photo, as a keen herpetologist who likes to research un usual colour phases especially in rare and dangerous reptiles,I thought your thread was genuine , I guess there really is 1 born every minute :D but a genuine cobra in an usual colour phase would be woth upto 10,000 dollars australian, seeing as a trio of bluephase treesnake babies were sold for 3500 $ here in queensland a while back :D
:D .Am not an expert like you are,but willing to learn.(and i have had an interest for snakes since i was 5 years, but been to "busy doing other things) :)

What you say here really made me start thinking :D

I just "throw a treasure away.Guess this rare species need to be taken care of ,soon there are no1 left i guess.

Hmm ,what to say? guess am a moron after all :D

You know how to reach me.If i can be of any help,! :D

    Sorry.

Actually N.Eagle t'was you who started your little quiz based upon your "new blue Cobra". Where is this thread going to now?? :D

I think its gone from Name the Cobra to Hunt the Cobra. Maybe the mods can change the title..... :clap2:

    Big cash prize!! :cheesy:

  9. i tell you what!

one of these days when i go back to the u.k. and any of you guys are in and around the capital london. i will take you for a stroll around my old hunting ground and work place "smithfiled meat market"

have to be up around 4 a.m. though, but it will give you a wright appetite for a good old english fry up.

often thought about trying to start up some sort of import business bringing in proper bacon and english sausages. seems to be already quite a few expats having a go at it though.

doesnt quite seem the same as what you get back home, or it sure looks that way from what most ex-pats have to say.

These days you want to forget Smithfield and get down to Borough Market. Fantastic bacon and sausages there. And a great family run cafe a 10 min walk away does a superb full breakfast for a fiver. :)

  10. Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not after you... :D

Any thief would have a surprise when they finally made it in to my house, to see a sofa, old non-widescreen tv and 800 baht DVD player!...

Come off it Matt! We know your house is full of birthday goodies....! :D

I just hope they don't pick the TV that's packed with ammonium nitrate, a blasting cap and a mobile phone. Wouldn't that be a shame... :)

I wish you'd tell us more about your SAS days Matt I really do.... :D

  12. Maybe I am being a little too cautious here but ...

It might be best not to reveal too much on here. It is a public forum, anyone can read it, and although we are all pretty anonymous and it would be diffifult to work out who we are and where we live, you never know how thieves work.

Like I say, sorry about being paranoid, and if you think I am being a bit daft, then please say so. :D

Don't worry mate. I promise not to reveal your secret location. :)

  13. http://www.bangkokair.com/

Best not to use the word 'cheap' however. :)

yeah price has shot up over the years ....... i was looking at flying to surat thani and the price is like 1400 bht compared to 3200 odd to samui ...

i been to samui lots of times but how much of a mission is it to get to samui from surat thani ??? more importantly would it save me much money ???

    any help appriciated guys .....

There is a cheap bus service from the airport to Donsak where you can get the ferry to Samui. The whole journey will take around 3 hours and cost approx 300-400 Baht. Just take a songtheaw from Nathon. Definitely the way to go if time isn't an issue.

  14. There doesn't no, it even comes down to the fact that in Penalty Shoot outs, they have to be taken up one lot of Fans end you owuld have thought so we can't go too overboard about this..

An extra 30 mins to score a Goal that would count double though & give the other Team little or no time to recover from it thoguh is a legitimate unfair advantage..

The thing with it & what i have thought for a while now if if you are Away in teh first Leg, you go all out to score Goals, i would anyway & Man United for example go down this route also or at least set up too..

In the Home Leg, if it's the First Leg, a Clean sheet is a must in my eyes & anything else is a bonus..

Disgarding the Extra time away Goal rule would not affect either of those two things above except possibly the personnel & set up of the Team that is away in the second Leg if they had been chasing Away Goals yet wouldn't do anymore in the extra time period..

Getting an away goal is crucial in my view. Just shows what a wonderful result it was for Fulham coming back from one down at home in the second leg.

It would definitely increase the number of penalty shootouts if the rule was changed. No bad thing for the neutral viewer but terrible for the players and fans.

    I like the idea. :)
