  1. ^ So you don't believe with the crowd behind them the home side then have an unfair advantage?

Not really no, i'd rather be the Away side with the chance that if i score a Goal in these periods it would count double every day of the week, with the Crowd Singing, Dancing & doing whatever, or not..

A Goal scoring doube V the possible aptmosphere of the Crowd is not even a comparable in 2 x 15 minute halves, see Anfield on Thursday for an example..

My issue with removing the away goals in extra time is it hands the advantage to the home side.

But on reflection i guess its less of an advantage than the away goal and thus fairer.

Doesn't seem to be any way to even things up completely though.

  2. I spent some time a few weeks ago upping the security where I live. I got some flood lights installed. We have a new wooden solid front door with 3 dead-bolts. I also used a Dremmel Tool to round out all the screws that hold the metal bars in place on the windows. The only way in or out of my house is through my front door. I also have a few other tricks I've done inside the house that would give someone a surprise if they broke in.

I also got insurance for my household stuff, so if a gang ever turned up and stuck a gun to my head or knife to my throat.. I'd let them straight and leave them to it. It's not worth losing your life over a material possession...

    Matt.

Pleased to hear you've secured your house Matt, but what would you do in the event of a fire? :)

"Taking in to account the exchange rate a beer on say Soi Cowboy or Nana in Bangkok at 150 Baht equates to a whopping £6 a pint!"

    Better re-check your math, mate.

    Hmm not so sure mate, 150 baht = £3, 2 x bottles of beer = 1 pint, therefore 2 x 150 bottles = 1 pint = 300 baht = £6, surely?

150 Baht for a bottle of beer? :)

Where are you drinking this stuff coz I thought the Champagne Room closed a while back.

Ur bein ripped off matey. :D

  4. Haha :D

No knowledge i see ( modified by spraybox) (photo shopped colour)

    :)

Yes It's a Cobra .In Blue phase ( they really have many colours )

And this 1 IS a beauty (and rare) :D

    Am a Lucky man.

You are. Are you keeping him/her? :D

A lovely snake. But crikey a pet cobra? Madness! :D

  5. We live in Fisherman's village. But Maenam, Chaweng, Bangrak are all local to drive to.

Which team do you support? Where do you go to watch them? Are you watching a game tonight?

Premier Bar in Bangrak is probably your best bet. Usually has a good crowd in for the footie.

I'm a spurs fan and will be watching this afternoon from a bar in the Isle of Man.

Check out the football forum. :)

  6. Sorry to hear about the dog. My neighbor's dog (chocolate Lab) was killed last week from poison also. It's a very cruel and cowardly act, imo

Sorry also but it disgusts me that some people have such little regard for man's best friend. Whoever is involved in this should be locked up. Disgusting. :)

  7. It's got to be Pattaya although 2 weeks there would mean you would need a holiday, lol.

Why don't they they split it 1 week Pattaya and 1 week wherever if they are planning 2 weeks.

I doubt if it was my first trip I'd want to miss Pattaya either. Maybe 5 nights there then move south for the beaches.

  8. On Samui beer starts at 60 Baht, a decent room can be had for 500-600 Baht, the other activity you allude to is 1k Baht.

I would suggest taking bus or train and boat to Samui however as flights here are very expensive compared with Phuket for instance.

  9. Sorry, don't mean to hog the thread!

The elderly 'charity collector' has been arrested earlier this afternoon, and had his ID and collection tin taken away. This is not the first time he's been arrested so I don't know if it'll put him off, but the rescue service are now very aware of who he is and will pick him up themselves if they see him at it again.

If you do want to make a donation, you can go to any rescue station on the island and give them money there. They will write you out a certificate/receipt for the donation. Don't try to give money to the ambulance beacause the record books are only kept in the stations.

If anyone does see this 'charity collector' again, please let us know, I have confirmed with Alan that we certainly do not have people collecting money, the nearest you might see is somebody distributing leaflets.

Pleased to hear he's no longer spoiling your good name on the island. :)

  10. TG and EVA normally have seat sales in May/June but this depends on how many tickets have been sold and at what price. After the private Schools break-up the UK(about 20th June)its classed as high season. As long as you leave the UK before this date its low and you cna return in ther high season and i assume its works in reverse? :) .

With the present troubles you might be lucky?.

    Good luckirways

I'm looking to fly mid June and economy fares (excepting Jet Airways) are the same as usual. The only reduction on EVA was for biz class where they come in unusually cheap in fact the best price of any airline surprisingly.

  11. Shame there is not much input on this thread from actual Cottagers?

There moment of glory and not a Fulham fan to be seen, well congrats to Hodgson and his squad lets hope they go all the way,Mr Al Fayed will be very happy! at least one west London side got to a euro final.

Lets hope a repeat of 2002 and a happy Hodgson! :)

I've only ever met 2 in my life, 3 in fact thinking long & hard.... :D

I've met more of 'em in Pattaya than I ever did in one place in London. :D

  12. Or Michael Dawson..

dawson's a good stopper, think he lacks a wee bit of pace though. ironic now that spurs have probably england's two best centrebacks in woodgate and king but they're both made of balsa wood.

    So does Terry Stevie, hugely..

I wouldn't play Terry & Dawson, that would be suicidal, but i'd play Ferdinand & Dawson for example..

& Nev you say he's World Class on his day, that day hasn't been once this Season though aye ??

Dawson/King with Ferdinand and Terry as back up....you know it makes sense. :)

  13. Not soon enough, shame can't get a whole host of stores in there.

^ I liked Don Muang better even for duty free shopping. Forget the flash stuff and make it open to the 99% of us who just might want to buy a cheap ipod or camera or a decent bookshop....how about a pub even....a decent restaurant....internet shop...(in absence of free wifi in itself ridiculous)....or even just close them altogether and provide more adequate seating.

Anything would be an improvement on King Power.

  14. ^not much worth buying in King Power anyways - think last time I bought anything was some chocolate for some thai mates of mine.

Yeah the shops are rubbish anyway selling mostly tat which you could find at Chatachuk for a fraction of the price. How long until their franchise runs out I wonder??
