  3. theres lots of ex pats that live an work in Vietnam

for sure not as many as here, but thats not the point,

the point is, they seem to be more concerned over there about the welfare of the expats than here

How hard would it be to allow all on soon to be expired visas, extension, automatic extensions until this is over, rather than making everyone travel to immigration every 14 days and risk catching the virus??
    They'll still get their money

Not to mention creating hassle for embassies to provide the letters needed when they could be doing other things>>

Yea, i know, one should not think to much here but sometimes............

    COVID-19: Myanmar bans international flights
Myanmar to close airports for all international flights till April 13

    Quote

Myanmar will ban all international passenger flights into its airports beginning Monday as part of the country’s efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus pandemic.

Civil aviation authority on Sunday said no international commercial passenger flights will be allowed to land in Myanmar for next two weeks, until April 31.

The Department of Civil Aviation said in a statement that it also suspends all landing permissions it previously granted.

The measure will not apply to relief, cargo, medical evacuation flights as well as specially-approved flights, it added.

The move came shortly after Myanmar suspended issuing all kinds of entry visas till the end of April except to diplomats, UN officials and crews of ships and aircraft operating to and from Myanmar.

PHUKET: Patong Municipality’s COVID-19 street cleanse and door-to-door house check is in full swing, with trucks dousing the main streets with disinfectant and teams of officers walking from house to house to check the occupants for any signs of the disease.

The Post Office and other main offices have also undergone a thorough cleanse, and all branches in Patong of 7-Eleven, Family Mart, ‘Mini’ Big C and SuperCheap stores as well as Makro and the Central Food Hall are now closed from 7pm to 5am each night until April 30 to help prevent the spread of the virus.

  6. glad i dont live there

A notice from Patong municipality is urging Patong’s residents to stay at home and not venture out of doors, including the Soi Bangla entertainment area, which has become the hotbed of Covid-19 coronavirus in the island province of Phuket. The announcement, on government letterhead, says citizens who need food and water can contact authorities for delivery.

The notixe, seen below, mentions the authority granted by the Health ministry to Phuket officials, and strongly urges residents to stay in their homes, saying that if they need necessities for “life or well being” to call authorities on 076 342 079, or the Phuket Ministry of Education on 076 342 087.
