Border runs: be advised;
The government will extend the requirement of medical certificates and health insurance from Sunday to cover all visitors to the country regardless of nationalities to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Travellers to Thailand have to now show authorities a health certificate, issued no more than 72 hours before travelling, confirming that they have been tested and are free from the virus. They must also present an insurance policy showing minimum coverage for coronavirus of not less than US$100,000.

cops were out last night and visiting every restaurant and anyone that had customers drinking ONLY (ie not eating or ordering food) the owner was fined and forced to close down.
Personally dont see the dif between a bar or a restaurant if both have lots of people.
do as ny, la, SF and many other cities have done an shut them all down

Well I for one am paying about $150 less for 3x the space in Siem vis a vis BKK. How bout you? How much more are you paying here in Cambo?
once again u cant compare SR, a provincial city, ( and 3rd largest city in Cambodia) to the capital and business center of the country
instead compare SR to CM or Pattaya where accommodations will be less
To each their own.....

i have been staying home here in Hua Hin except for large grocery shopping. going straight to what is needed in the store then out and straight back home. mask, hand sanitizer, social distancing. even in public staying as far away as possible from other people.
if you are over 60, living in Thailand you should starting thinking about what you are going to do when you get the virus. and don't say "go to the hospital."
and while i understand the Philippines are not Thailand, just look at what is happening there to see the possible next step in Thailand.
Paranoia strikes deep Into your life it will creep It starts when you're always afraid Step out of line, the men come and take you away
Yea, avoid crowds, wash hands, other than that....do as you always do.

was at Central mall thrusday, 10% wearing masks, few tourists about, shelves fully stocked,

So if you want to do a visa-run to cambodia to get another 30 days,
is that still possible in this virus crisis?
QuoteYes, the reason I was asking this: traveling with a visa-run company to cambodia for another 30 days. You actually never cross into cambodia yourself (your passport will be brought to the cambodian side by staff).
But you wait in nomansland after thai customs.
BUT cambodia wont issue these people a voa...

From US embassy still very unclear; note where i bolded below ( all Americans)
MPORTANT NOTICE to AMERICAN CITIZENS 1 of 3:
The Cambodian Ministry of Health (MOH) announced on March 14 a 30-day suspension of entry into Cambodia on "foreigners traveling from" the United States, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. The suspension will go into effect on Tuesday March 17.
Cambodian authorities have not clarified the application of this suspension for individuals currently outside of the country with valid Cambodia residence or work permits, or for individuals from the five cited countries seeking to enter Cambodia from other points of origin.
American citizens traveling in the region who wish to travel or return to Cambodia in the near-term should make every effort to do so before this suspension of entry goes into effect on March 17, 2020.
The MOH also announced two non-Cambodian citizens tested positive for COVID-19 in Phnom Penh. To date, Cambodia has had a total of seven confirmed cases of COVID-19.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control has issued a Level 2 Travel Notice for Cambodia and the U.S. Department of State has issued a Global Level 3 Health Advisory (Reconsider Travel).MPORTANT NOTICE TO AMERICAN CITIZENS 2 of 3:
Entry and Exit Requirements:
On March 14, 2020, the Cambodian authorities announced that foreigners traveling from the following countries will not be allowed to enter Cambodia: the United States, Italy, Germany, Spain, and France. American citizens traveling in the region who wish to travel or return to Cambodia in the near-term should make every effort to do so before this 30-day suspension of entry goes into effect on March 17, 2020. Individuals with specific questions should contact the nearest Cambodian Embassy or Consulate for answers.
Travelers are required to complete a health declaration form before disembarkation in Cambodia.
Cambodia has placed thermal scanners and quarantine teams at the three international airports in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville, and at border checkpoints. Screening, however, is minimal.
We encourage travelers to reference travel pages for all transiting nations before arrival in Cambodia.MPORTANT NOTICE TO AMERICAN CITIZENS 3 of 3:
Quarantine Information:
The Cambodian Ministry of Health has designated three hospitals in Phnom Penh (Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital, National Pediatric Hospital, and Kunthabopha Hospital), and 25 Provincial Referral Hospitals as medical facilities that can order a test for, and treat, suspected cases of COVID-19.
Provincial healthcare facilities may be underdeveloped and lacking the resources to provide an expected level of care. For instance, provincial hospitals in Cambodia expect family members to provide admitted patients with bed linens, meals, and supportive hygiene care.
The Cambodian Ministry of Health (MOH), in consultation with the WHO, US-CDC, and the Institute Pasteur of Cambodia (IPC), has selected IPC as the designated lab for COVID-19 testing.
Quarantine policies in Cambodia are not well-established and may be unpredictable. Americans traveling or residing in Cambodia who are required to observe a public health quarantine may experience austere, unsanitary, or ad-hoc conditions.
Local Resources:
For additional information in Cambodia, travelers can call the 115 hotline or MOH officials at: 012 825 424, 012 488 981 or 012 836 868. Information is available in English and Khmer.

Many people have obtained proof of a small amount of income from their embassy for the proof. Others have done affidavits/statements stating they are retired.
Savannakhet Laos has the same requirement.
for Proof,
would a letter from the SS office stating how much i am getting be considered as proof of retirement?

https://thethaiger.com/coronavirus/pm-says-all-air-passengers-must-show-health-certificates-insurance
How to close your borders when you’re not actually closing your borders. The Thai PM has made travelling to Thailand difficult, if not impossible, for many in his latest ‘clarification’.
In an apparent contradiction of the a notice posted by Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) yesterday, PM Prayut Chan-o-cha announced that all air travellers, both Thai and foreign, must now present a health certificate proving they free of the Covid-19 coronavirus, and proof of insurance covering any local treatment for the virus, before being allowed to check in for a flight or journey to Thailand.
