Cheated by Savings-bank...
Well it seems to me that the banking apps in Thailand are highly secure. Please provide an example or two of scams on mobile apps, especially banking apps if you have some. Thanks

House elects Mike Johnson as Speaker, ending GOP chaos
I thought this thread was about Mike Johnson. Let's try and get back on topic. How about this: https://www.cnn.com/2023/11/01/politics/mike-johnson-kfile-invs/index.html Before he became a politician, House Speaker Mike Johnson partnered with an anti-gay conversion therapy group. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson closely collaborated with a group in the mid-to-late 2000s that promoted “conversion therapy,” a discredited practice that asserted it could change the sexual orientation of gay and lesbian individuals. Prior to launching his political career, Johnson, a lawyer, gave legal advice to an organization called Exodus International and partnered with the group to put on an annual anti-gay event aimed at teens, according to a CNN KFile review of more than a dozen of Johnson’s media appearances from that timespan.

Transferring Visa to new passport
I'm needing to get a new Canadian passport soon. Did you get the new one in Thailand or Canada? Did you courier or carry the old in when submitting your application? I assume you checked the box to get your old one back. I think if it was the Canadian embassy in Thailand that screwed up, the only safe way would be to submit in person when you get to take your old passport (with holes in it to make it invalid) with you after submitting the application.

Keeping sim cards alive frequent visitor
I had a sim years back, true if I recall correctly that allowed you to purchase extended validity. A simple google search (not research) showed this: https://help.mobiletopup.com/knowledge-base/how-do-i-extend-the-expiry-date-validity-of-my-sim/

See if you can find some tincture. Liquid drops, just put some under your tongue and 30 minutes later...

Cholestrerol levels..
Sorry, that's long out of date. No fasting required now in most countries, US and Canada for sure.

BKK airport waiting times
Dunno. There was no lineup in regular immigration so I just went there.

Remember to block SMS that cut money from your account
I can't believe people are still using SMS's. They're so 1990s.

Cholestrerol levels..
Diet and exercise can drop your cholesterol by 5%. Taking a statin reduces it up to 50%. When my Dr recommend I change my diet and do more exercise I laughed at him as I was in the gym 3 or 4 times a week and eating well at the time. I insisted he give me a statin. 25 years later hdl, ldl, etc all well withing recommended levels. Also a stress test in 2016 showed 0% blockage on either side of the heart.

BKK airport waiting times
Those priority tagged business class bags were from the next flight to use that carousel, not the flight you were on.

BKK airport waiting times
Please advise what airline did that? Do you use them all the time? EVA would never do that, and if they did I would need to find a new one. BTW, my flight consisted of three segments, and even after that my luggage was still front of the queue in BKK. Did your airline advise you of the fast track immigration for business class?

Evidence of DNA Contamination in Pfizer Vaccine
I'm too lazy to read all this nonsense, so sorry if this has been posted already: https://news.yahoo.com/false-claims-recirculate-harmful-dna-184043727.html Scientists have repeatedly refuted the claim that Covid-19 vaccines can alter a person's genome, but social media posts suggest DNA contamination in the injections could lead to harmful effects such as cancer. This is false; there is no evidence of significant amounts of genetic material in the shots -- and even if there were, experts say they could not alter cells. The claims circulated after University of South Carolina biologist Phillip Buckhaults appeared before a state panel September 13, 2023 to discuss his research on messenger RNA (mRNA) Covid-19 vaccines.

BKK airport waiting times
Yes they do. It's called business class. Arrived last week. 5 minutes for immigration and my checked bags were both on the carousel within the first 30 bags. Btw, talking to a lady I know that rents scooters, she says very little rented compared to last year. Funny though it was quite difficult to find a condo. All pretty much full for a 5 month rental.

Old age pensions of the World
I feel fortunate to be able to live wherever I want and able to afford whatever health care I need. Canada is a good place to live if you want to be on welfare.

Old age pensions of the World
The supplement is essentially welfare. You have to be very poor to receive it. How sad for you that you can collect it. As for the US propaganda, I lived in the US over 10 years. I needed a hernia surgery in Canada a few years back. After waiting about 16 months they finally got around to scheduling it. Two weeks before the scheduled surgery it was cancelled with no new date set. Thankfully I don't qualify for the supplement, so I flew down to Florida and had it done there. I have medicare because I worked in the US 10 years. Talked to the surgeon Friday, flew in Monday, met surgeon Tuesday, and had the operation 3 days later on Friday. Propaganda? I think maybe the Canadian propaganda about the US system is what you are alluding to. Yes, not everyone is covered there, but if you are it's much superior.

Big Bike brand with good service in Thailand?
I owned a triumph trident in the 70's. Made in England at the time. It was a POS. Lucas electrics with their zener diode. According to Lucas, if god had meant us to drive at night, he would have made it light. Thankfully the Honda 750/4 was just being released so I picked one up. Just get on it and go, not like the triumph that always needed tinkering. I guess that's why triumphs weren't around until somebody decided to make them here. Lots of bikes since then. Suzuki dr650 was a great bike for Cambodia. Ninja 650r was ok in the Philippines, as the price was the same as the US. Anyway, out of all of them the Hondas were the best and required very little maintenance. The 500 scrambler would probably be what I bought if I needed a new bike now.

Have you made up your mind about who is right and who is wrong? Or are you ready to admit that often it's not so easy.
I was out for a drink with a right-wing old friend(50+ years) shortly after Hamas invaded Israel. He admitted he had no opinion yet. My take was that he hadn't checked the right wing media yet so he hadn't been told what he needs to think.

Ear Buds.
I forgot to mention... Avoid the Lenovo branded (fakes). I bought a couple of different ones last year and they both crapped out. Worst case one side became much quieter than the other, and it wasn't consistent so I couldn't fix it by adjusting the balance. Thankfully it wasn't very expensive.
