  1. try this thread. https://aseannow.com/topic/1254197-air-fryers/
  2. But I thought that PCR tests were no longer required from 1st April? What is going on? Already Thailand advertises no quarantine.
  3. It is not just Thai. It is similar in some other SE Asian countries. Cambodia for one.
  4. You should be able to quarantine at the Airbnb accommodation. We have had many guests who were told to do that. When I had Covid, my ATK tests were positive - then negative, then positive and so on. I was told to quarantine for 10 days - just to be sure.
  5. Many of us live here in Thailand for a number of reasons. One of those reasons is that we do not want to live in our country of origin because we do not like some of the things happening there and, as individuals, we cannot change things. We would not rush back to our CoO to try and change things if we knew that we would be gaoled for up to 15 years if we did so. We would not speak out against our leader back home if we knew that our family and friends could be harassed, gaoled and possibly even tortured if we said anything. Some Russians are no different to us. Not all Russians are Putin fans.
  6. Definitely. I am single and cook lots in the air fryer. (Gave the oven and hob away.) Pies, chips, fish fingers, fish and chips, sausages, jacket spuds, spicy wedges etc. Chuck it all in the air fryer. Bacon and pork good in the air fryer as well. Even did a beef wellington in it. (Frozen one from Tops - very tasty.) Pastry - brush milk on it to stop it going black. What I cannot do in the air fryer I cook on the BBQ. My first air fryer was a cheap one from Power Buy (3,000 THB 5 years ago was cheap.). It did well for a few years but the enamel started to flake off and it was going rusty. Second one was a Philips. Very good but I dropped it. Replacement was at least 5,000 THB so I have just bought a big cheap one again. From Big C - on special. 1,690 THB. "Keep shaking the chips/wedges and turning the meat."
  7. Do you not put oil in the air fryer for the wings?
  8. Possible bad news for people living in Bangrak. My partner told me that Lomprayah are having to leave their site at the Phralan pier, which is next to Wat Na Phra Lan Something to do with a different development on the site. Can any readers out there confirm this? This would indicate that the current traffic/parking mayhem at the Lomlahk pier will continue for the foreseeable future.???? 'Rush hour' is 07.30, 11.30 and 16.00 Seatran Ferries look as though there are no plans to start up again. Their web site has been taken down. Raja Ferries are busy at weekends and are putting on extra ferries as well as the scheduled services.
  9. but with PCR tests and need Thailand Pass to come home? It is lovely there but I would wait until all of the rules are scrapped.
  10. North west coast of Koh Phangan. Ao Mae Haad. A couple of very nice hotels (Maehaad Bay resort is my favourite). Nothing to do there except swim, watch the sunsets, eat and drink. Very few locals. Rent a scooter and travel down the west coast for more very good restaurants. North coast villages are also good but not many. Stay away from the SE coast- Full Moon Party territory. I go there with friends every February for a relaxing break. It has been very quiet there for the last two years - very few tourists. No problems buying alcohol,
  11. Thailand - the HOA? (Hub Of Acronyms.) ????
  12. The Tessabaan have been cutting back on services for quite a while now. It started with them withdrawing lots of the green bins spread about the island at least 6 or 7 years ago. (Maybe more?) Their argument is that not many people are paying the 'garbage' tax every month. I have noticed that garbage 'drop spots' around where I live are disappearing. Especially where there are developments built for foreigners. Even though we pay the garbage tax for our customers, the government trucks won't negotiate the small lanes on the development. So we have to rent a small plot of land where their trucks will go, and transport our garbage to a 'cage' that we have built there. I notice lots of people 'dumping' their garbage in our cage. I am pretty sure that they do not pay the tax. Most people that I know - don't pay it.
  13. Same for me and I pay 9 baht per unit for electricity. A big saving. And the inverter unit is much quieter. No science behind my comment. Just an observation.
  14. Your comment does not make sense. I have lived here for more than 20 years and I too have never used Ali Express. No need. I can get pretty much everything that I want from Thailand. I do not see the need to fund the CCP in its ambitions.
  15. We had both Ukrainian and Russian guests sharing the same building. Ukrainians in the apartment downstairs. Russians in the villa upstairs. They got on fine. No issues. Most Russians and Ukrainians understand exactly what is going on and are very upset with what Putin is doing (to say the least). Both nationalities need assitance.
  16. The Russian sky may be open but most flights are cancelled. As are their Russian credit and debit cards so how can they pay for new flights? Oh, and their travel insurance is also cancelled. As bad as the Russian government is, I do not believe that they are enlisting mothers and children.
  17. "focus should be on tradition and religion" They missed a bit of Anutin's original quote - focus should be on tradition, weed and religion.
  18. My electricity is 9 baht a unit. No 'massive saving' there.
  19. "Prison" is not the problem either. All of the guests that we have checked in and then who then show positive for Covid, have been found on the second test. Day 5. (They then quarantined in their holiday accomodation. Not quite a prison.) This indicates to me, that the most likely place to catch Covid is on the plane or at an airport. Maybe even in a taxi or a bus! Some friends have just returned to the UK. Negative tests here during their three week stay but positive after arriving back in the UK. They think that they picked up Covid at Frankfurt airport!
  20. Should be no problem. I have just picked up friends that have flown down from Bangkok. One showed the paper certificate (his Mor Prom wasn't working) and the other showed Mor Prom. Both OK. Full plane - mix of Test and Go (tested at the airport?) and domestic (seperate channel). Masks all of the time.
  21. Good advice. My advice to everyone is - get triple vaccinated. ???? I am an oldie (71 next month) Two chronic diseases. (Lungs and kidneys.) Triple vaccinated - had Covid, no major issues. Mind you, I could be killed in a traffic accident tomorrow. Vaccination will not help with that one. ????
