  1. The government hospital at Nathon. To save time, make an appointment and give them the details from your first dose.
  2. Foreign and Thai guests in pubs and 'restaurants' are arrested for breaking Covid rules. Politicians and HiSo's in Thong Lor - nothing but they sue the people who call them out! Sad.
  3. There is no confirmation re quarantine free. I suspect at least one day but the law hasn't even been drafted yet. The government is still trying to work out what to do. What "Prayut says" and what really happens are often not the same thing.
  4. I wonder if the increasing number of cases are all home grown or are they due to the fact that there are a lot of domestic tourists visiting Samui at the moment?
  5. Sorry garment workers. You are in deep poop. The government's best is worth sweet FA.
  6. And what about the 100,000's who have still received nothing? Fat Cats 1 - the poor 0
  7. For accurate local weather I use Windguru. I live on Koh Samui so the wind/waves etc are useful. Very detailed but not that accurate about 4 -5 days out. The weather changes quickly here. https://www.windguru.cz/30397 For general weather Accuweather is as good as any. Just set your location. https://www.accuweather.com/en/browse-locations/asi/th
  8. Concerts at year end sort of goes against the words of out great leader re 'keeping your guard up. No alcohol, large groups or parties' etc. That is without even discussing social distancing and making everyone stick to their 2 square meters.
  9. Koh Samui at 20.10 28 C outside 28.5 C inside
  10. Just a quick update on transport to and on Koh Samui. More domestic tourists are visiting - especially at weekends. A few guests were unable to hire a car at Samui airport. None available. So if you are travelling here - book your hire car in advance. Also, queues at the ferry terminal at Donsak with long waits for people who have not pre-booked their ferry slot.
  11. Both Samui and Phuket have restaurants that are allowed to sell alcohol - legally. (Bars as well in Phuket?) This is down to the Samui Plus/Phuket sandbox. And high numbers of locals that have had two or more vaccines. Here is the list for Samui.
  12. Unfortunately, the million or so people who no longer have jobs, money or food on the table do need them.
  13. Very sad numbers and probably under-reported. Motorcyclist (no helmet) drives into the back of a parked garbage truck at high speed. Accident or suicide? The numbers do not reflect the attempted (and failed) suicides either. Very, very sad.
  14. I rode through Chewang at about 20.30 on Friday night (15th). Yes - early for the 'old' Chaweng. I only saw two places that were open. Ark Store Bar and Black Bamboo.
  15. But those going on holiday do enjoy a drink now and again. https://www.traveller.com.au/international-borders-and-covid19-why-thailands-alcoholfree-reopening-is-no-cause-for-celebration-h1z6cs
  16. Could be the same flight. In theory, Bangkok Airways should not mix passengers. But this is Thailand? Maybe with the new 'opening' rules it is OK? Try contacting the airline.
  17. I believe that all is the same. Your wife will not be allowed to join that flight. The transfer at Bangkok to Samui is a sealed route and cannot mix with other passengers. The flights PG5nnn are the special Samui Plus flights. She will have to catch a scheduled flight. (3 digits eg PG123)
  18. Personally, I think that it is very sad that they are being sent back into what is likely to be a war zone. I thought that Thailand was crying out for labour?
  19. Do not worry. You do not have to throw away the pre-copied docs that you have. Banks etc will still insist on using them.
  20. No quarantine but still 7 days in a 'sandbox' hotel. The difference is that you can now leave the hotel. Still need insurance and COE.
