  1. Not for all workers. Just for government employees and banks etc.
  2. Here on Samui, rainy season is typically October to December.
  3. Maybe the warehouse was there first and the houses came afterwards? (Because of the jobs.) We have no way of knowing. ????
  4. The election that brought the red shirts to power was an (almost) fair, democratic election. Just the usual vote buying by ALL parties. Thaksin's government then went on to deliver his pledges to the supporters. (Mostly rural, poorer Thais.) As Thais at the time said to me "He may be corrupt - they all are, but he is the first that has helped me, my family and our village." Now that sounds a bit like democracy to me.
  5. You are talking about the whole current (almost outgoing) government there. Why pick on just one person? At least Thaksin did something for the poor people in Thailand. All (military) governments since then have just been lining the pockets of the rich.
  6. Yes they did. Unfortunately, there was no budget to maintain it. ????
  7. Busy here on Samui. 37 flights in a day plus ferries??
  8. And that was the dinosaurs' plan all along. They stay in power and extend the deadline to remove the senators. ????
  9. She should go to her local social security office and talk to the staff there. They will tell her exactly what her rights are. Take any relevant correspondence.
  10. Not nice to tie the cows legs together like that. I understand why they might do it , but still not nice.
  11. How is one supposed to run a business when dinosaurs keep telling people not to work!
  12. Fakebook should be banned. They do not accept responsibility for anything. It is only about the money.
  13. Not at all. Just a safe, non-violent protest. Letting the dinosaurs know that they are disliked.
  14. Prayut's military legacy - a government that can only spend and is unable to run a country for the people. Sadly it will be around for a long time.
  15. I have never seen a CJ More shop here on Samui. Mind you, when I am driving, I am watching the road, not window shopping.
  16. Good question. ???? ????
  17. This is all just candy floss. He will change his mind and pick his 'friends' once he is PM and there is nothing that can be done about it.
  18. And the rest of the world does nothing. ????
  19. I am not sure about only 8 years. Stupidity can have a long shelf life. I only go to Samui immigration once a year (for the annual photo - 10 minutes) and I pay no fines.
  20. That is why some countries have P plates. https://youngcardriver.com/learning/p-plates/
  21. It is not a one sided story. We have all seen the way that some dogs defend their territory and themselves. The one that I have seen many times is when some young people on motorbikes try and kick a sleeping dog as they drive past it. Guess what. When the dog sees a bike, it goes for the feet of the people on it! According to some folk, it is the dog's fault.
  22. That is not what happened, but I am sure that you think that you know best.
