  1. We too are desperate for rain down here in Samui.
  2. This is not just a TG thing. My daughter stopped speaking to me when I married my second wife who was only a few of years older then her. Wife #2 was English.
  3. Shepherd Neame used to be one of my customers back in the day when I had a proper job. Really nice people and excellent beers. I am not surprised that the Singha won if they are brewing it. https://www.shepherdneame.co.uk/beer
  4. More importantly, was the rebar that was used in the re-enforcing, the same spec as was designed?
  5. Well said. ???? It has been the law here for at least the last 50 years. Just that a lot of foreigners ignore it.
  6. Definitely be careful of these things. They bite - big time. I trod on one by accident a few years back. (It was at night.) The front of my foot covered half of it (It was about 7 inches long) but the front half of the beastie rolled back and bit me. Not poisonous but the infection......???? The next morning, I could see the infection in my leg - heading north and VERY painful. I was on strong antibiotics for 10 days.
  7. As far as I can remember, these jobs have always been banned for foreigners.
  8. Well done the Office of the Basic Education Commission. Taking innocent children and throwing them into harms way. ☹️
  9. We have just had a few light showers here on Samui all year. I tried to perform a rain dance last night but the neighbours told me to put my clothes back on and go inside. ????
  10. It is usually the parents who are desperate for money. I have read of a number of cases where this has happened in the Philippines, Cambodia and Indonesia. Sometimes, one of the parents will record the terrible acts for the adult committing them. Sad and very evil.
  11. At least Prawit does not say or do anything stupid when he is asleep. Leave him be.
  12. Still required. Many bikes have them under the seat. (Avoids rain damage and theft.)
  13. I would think that the bank has every right to defend itself from the muck being spread by the failed politician.
  14. And for those that keep saying 'cashless is the way to go - use apps'? Sad.
  15. But the poor lad is still chained on his front right leg. I understand the need for the chain, but on a front leg?
  16. There have been photographs in newspapers and AN of the lady's pink case showing damage to the bottom and two wheels missing.
  17. Without tourists, most people on the island (the rest of the population?) will be unemployed again. As shown during Covid. We will be back to handing out food packages and so on. Tourism is the livelihood for most of people here on Samui, in one way or another.
  18. Maybe it is the VPN causing the problem. I have similar problems when I use my VPN. The BBC web site being one of the worst. Many sites block VPN's. eg Wikipedia for updates. It is because hackers and scammers all use VPN's.
  19. Oh the irony of your 'signature'.
  20. And people forget that most tourists (Thailand needs them) cannot use Thai payment apps. Credit cards have extra charges (and be used for scams). Cash really is king. Works every time.
