I bought land on Samui more than 20 years ago and built three houses on it. Sold one house seven years ago and made a decent profit on the total amount that I had invested. Sold a second house last year. Made more than 100% on my initial investment. I still have the third house. When I rented the places out, they were going for 50,000 a month on average. I am very glad that there are people like you to rent them out to.

Rumour has it that some smoke joints as well. Here is a quote from a CNN interview with Anutin (who said that you cannot use cannabis for recreational use). -
The reason that you cannot use the pink id card is that the name there (it's in Thai) will not match the name on your boarding card.

Hey guys, read the MFP manifesto. They want to regulate cannabis. Not stop it. Get a license and follow the rules. You will be ok. -

Almost £42 for a quiche lorraine!

I think that many folk here are missing the point. Phetpet is correct, cooked in the TOPS kitchens. Yes, 290 baht per slice is expensive, but this would usually be served, with the salads shown in the photo, in the TOPS restaurant area with a pretty waitress bringing your glass of wine or beer. It is not an 'off the shelf' product. -
One of the princesses was/is here. Lots of police in Bangrak this morning waiting for a 'convoy'.

Almost £42 for a quiche lorraine!

That is down to quality of the product and personal taste. For example. I will not drink cheap whisky but I will happily pay 2,000 baht for a bottle of a decent 10 year old single malt. However, I will not pay more for a 12, 15, 20 year old single malt. I cannot taste the difference. -
Immigration. No more Residence Certificates.

He was never fair, kind and polite to me. My own fault I suppose. I refused to pay a bribe. Back in 2001, I went to Nathon for my first ever retirement visa. Got the paperwork, the money and all that I needed. Our famous friend, took me into a store room. Sat me down on a box of A 4 paper and explained that I would need to pay him some money as a fee. I stood up and went to leave. He asked me where was I going? Did I not want the visa? I explained that I did but that where I come from, what he was asking for was called a bribe and that would be against the law. So I would talk to a lawyer about the visa and apply through them. The reply was - but I am much cheaper. Yes, I said. But using the lawyer was legal. After that, every 90 report, every extension etc etc, he made life as difficult as possible for me. Visits to Nathon were a 'challenge' but I never gave him any money. After a couple of years, I started a business and got a work permit. Life was bliss after that. -

Thai senators come under pressure over PM vote
Tropicalevo replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Unfortunately, those in power, who were not voted for by the people, continue to show that they have no respect at all for the voters and the people of Thailand. They only respect the man who put them in power and who also fills their pockets.- 89 replies

Immigration. No more Residence Certificates.

Hi phetphet Did you go back and ask for a residence certificate for a bank account? How did it go? I have just tried to open a second bank account at SCB in Big C and they say 'need residence certificate from Maenam immigration'. But, but, but I already have one account with you......... 'Maenam immigration!' ???? -
Unfortunately, that is not a given. The EC has 60 days to find a way to dissolve the leading two parties, then, God forbid, we could end up with Anutin as PM.
