  1. If this is the full list, then Samui Airport's 'official' taxi service (SmackOne) is not approved. Does that make it illegal? https://www.smackone.com/
  2. Some rain today for the first time in three months. ???????? Lasted all of 15 minutes. Plants were very happy. Guests staying in the villas less so. Major headache with drought this year. No government water, and wells drying up.
  3. Good luck young lady. May your God go with you.
  4. It's a very old phrase that has fallen out of fashion.
  5. Sad if she has been trafficked. Hope that they find the poor lass safe and sound.
  6. That is why a lot of young ladies from Isaan headed south to work. They work in various 'industries' and sent money home every month to their families. Hoping eventually to meet and marry a rich foreigner. 20 years ago, all of my staff were from Isaan. (Cleaning business.) Now, staff are mostly local, Surat, Nakhon etc
  7. Nice move from the Indian government. (Similar to the proposed exit tax here in Thailand.) 'We do not want our citizens to take their money out of the country. We want them to spend it here.'
  8. The same can be said about dope heads. Yes, it is my misfortune to have to deal with them regularly now that Thailand has become a weedie paradise and holiday destination. (I rarely have to deal with drunks!)
  9. That 'nightmare' was self inflicted. The real nightmare was for the poor family of the man that he killed. Innocent people do not run. Well that is my personal view.
  10. The dead young lady (RIP) had been taking drugs all through college, according to her parents in an interview. It wasn't just a 'cheeky little pill or two from someone at a party'. This was mentioned in a UK paper at the time.
  11. The full article does not say if she has her passport back or not. Either way, she is an overstay in China. I have no idea what the costs are to sort out this little conundrum but I can see someone wanting a lot of money to help her.
  12. But he shot himself at the back of the restaurant. How did the gun get outside?
  13. Why would the transport office oppose registration?
  14. I bought land on Samui more than 20 years ago and built three houses on it. Sold one house seven years ago and made a decent profit on the total amount that I had invested. Sold a second house last year. Made more than 100% on my initial investment. I still have the third house. When I rented the places out, they were going for 50,000 a month on average. I am very glad that there are people like you to rent them out to.
  15. Well done to that tourist for reporting it.
  16. Let's look at this in a bit of detail. The MFP have consistently said that legal (licensed) growers and retailers will not be affected. It is legal for medicinal use only. As Anutin said in a CNN interview
  17. Wow. This one will run for a while. The main story includes police corruption, money laundering and drugs.
  18. Rumour has it that some smoke joints as well. Here is a quote from a CNN interview with Anutin (who said that you cannot use cannabis for recreational use).
  19. The reason that you cannot use the pink id card is that the name there (it's in Thai) will not match the name on your boarding card.
  20. Hey guys, read the MFP manifesto. They want to regulate cannabis. Not stop it. Get a license and follow the rules. You will be ok.
  21. To the OP. I suggest that you listen to Sheryl. She gives very good advice.
  22. I think that many folk here are missing the point. Phetpet is correct, cooked in the TOPS kitchens. Yes, 290 baht per slice is expensive, but this would usually be served, with the salads shown in the photo, in the TOPS restaurant area with a pretty waitress bringing your glass of wine or beer. It is not an 'off the shelf' product.
