  1. As I understand things, if you go to the immigration people before you leave and admit that you are an overstay, then yes, stamp and a fine for 21 days overstay. If you just try to leave and hope that no one notices, then yes - arrested. Immigration here on Samui check passports for overstays for foreigners catching the early ferries. They are often on visa runs.
  2. And that thought will stay with her for the rest of her life. Very sad.
  3. Hopefully the apartment owner recorded a TM 30 so they will have a photo and all other passport details.
  4. So it seems that Thai police can only capture foreign criminals wanted on a Red Notice. Thai ones are left alone. eg Vorayuth “Boss” Yoovidhya
  5. Trucks like that one are used for transporting sugar cane. The elephants stop them and grab some for a snack. Once the elephant is eating, the truck driver knows that it is OK to drive on. The prats in the car are lucky that the elephant did not go over and 'sort them out'. https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=video+od+elephants+stopping+trucks+in+thailand&atb=v352-1&iax=videos&ia=videos&iai=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DIxGPyoml9C4
  6. And this is how Thailand fudges the 'death by road accident' numbers. These poor souls did not 'die' in the accident. They died in the ambulance or in the hospital. The real numbers are frightening but we do not know them.
  7. Electrocution is a serious risk during flooding. It is one reason why the electricity companies do not ant to put their cables underground.
  8. You only need two companies. When setting them up, the timing is important. ie not at the same time. Set up Company A with temporary Thai share holders. (Lawyer?) Set up company B later. Company A is the 100% Thai shareholder of Company B. (Juristic person.) Then Company B buys the shares from the original temporary Thai shareholders. Both companies are 100% owned by a Thai juristic person. Only one director in each company - you. (This rule may have changed.)
  9. Insurance companies are not allowed to pay out where criminal acts are concerned. It is against the law if they do. So if one is riding a scooter without a helmet or a valid driving licence, or whilst drunk or under the influence of drugs etc the insurance company should not be paying out.
  10. I did this for my wife when she died. From memory, I just had to send a copy of her passport, marriage certificate, police report and death certificate. The embassy staff were very helpful and efficient. Probably need a relative to be involved.
  11. Brave lad. Gave his life trying to save another.
  12. Read some of the UK daily rags. Sometimes see car cams of people overtaking and wiping innocent people out. Normal does not exist any more.
  13. It is normal everywhere to drive on the wrong side of the road when overtaking another vehicle.
  14. At least the dogs were saved (I am not a cat lover.)
  15. And Thailand is supporting this illegal military regime that has invaded it's waters, stolen boats and kidnapped its own people. Shame on you Thailand.
  16. That option is still available - especially on the internet. But the price has gone up a tad. I am a widower and I cannot be Rsed to train a new wife. Always nice to have a bit of company when on holiday.
  17. In the other reports and on CCTV, the woman appears to arrive on her own. The BP states that the guy jumped in to try and save her. https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2911772/two-tourists-drown-in-samui
  18. Surely no different to today's human walking through a jungle, and monkey walking on the same path hours later?
  19. Yes, ironic isn't it. There are very few human rights in Thailand. The UN might have responded more strongly had the refugees been Muslim.
