  1. They did not enter Thailand until arrested. No visa needed for that one.
  2. I agree and the answer is a definite yes. We tended to be brought up properly by our parents/teachers/guardians. We were disciplined when naughty, ignored when good. We were taught morals and standards. I was at school late 50's early 60's. Never heard of a weapon of any kind being used or shown. I actually had a German officers ceremonial dagger but I never took it to school. It was a memento that my father took when serving. Mum 'confiscated' it when she saw me practising throwing it.
  3. I wonder why it is that EV owners seem to be so fragile and touchy when it comes to protecting their little darlings' reputation. It just a bloomin car for goodness sake. Personally, I cannot be bothered to wait long to fill up my bike. Much quicker than any car - 2 minutes max I usually wait longer for the change. But the thought of having to wait whilst the battery was charging zzzzzzzzz.
  4. You should visit Samui. Usually boys but quite often girls as well. Some, I have been tempted to follow. Yesterday, a real cutie on a big bike. Derrière up in the air.
  5. Thank you for the update KhunPer. Looks like the incoming storm will have calmed down a bit by then. https://www.windguru.cz/30397
  6. Please try to understand the logistics. Someone drives all of the way to Samui for a holiday. They will not drive the 700 kilometers from say Bangkok for a weekend visit during silly season. Then they drive around the island for a week or two. Then they have to drive back. Most sensible people would want their vehicle topped up before they start a long journey. Petrol, diesel, electricity - all same same, but we have lots of gas stations.
  7. I suspect that a prison diet is not a normal part of a sportsman's healthy eating regime.
  8. Brilliant stuff. You could not make this up. Let's solve the world's problems with EV's said governments. Now, where's that bridge? (I suspect that there are not enough charging points on the island either.)
  9. I agree with your sentiment sir, but restoring public trust is not likely to happen until you and your party are in power. Good luck with that.
  10. Those were my first thoughts as well, but it seems that it was a marine police jet ski
  11. Ask about Vorayuth “Boss” Yoovidhya whilst you are in close contact.
  12. My F-I-L died soon after a massage, but the massage was not the initial cause. He had pains in his back so went to a professional for a massage. The pains became worse. Eventually he collapsed and was rushed to hospital. He was diagnosed with cancer throughout his body, including his spine. He was given two weeks to live. The back bones were so brittle that the massage broke some of them. RIP Bert.
  13. This is nothing new. Bangkok Airways ran a couple of planes from Berlin Airlines some years ago but no one made a fuss back then.
  14. Whilst Thais (and many AN readers) are happy to criticise these visa policies, Thailand would be totally stuffed without the foreign income.
  15. Likely to be true. They probably left the engine running (as is normal here) and just relied on the handbrake.
  16. When she died. I was supposed to die first (I was 10 years older with chronic diseases.) I had to go to court to get everything transferred back into my name. 30 great years ended too soon.
  17. Assume makes and ASS out of U and ME. Not a Thai bash - a concern over too many graduates getting into the system in a shortish time. I would say the same about any country doing this. Yes, I understand how newby's get experience, but there is still a risk if lots are in the spare seat at once. Quoting 1,200 available graduates is a distraction to the fact that experienced pilots are needed now.
  18. I had an enlarged prostate for about 10 years. I asked about Rezum (and others) but was told 'not available in Thailand back then. The bathroom visits eventually became hourly. Medications did not work, having spent 100,000's of baht over those 10 years on many different types as well as MRI's and even a biopsy once. Went to a urologist in Phuket last year and he began to tell me about this wonderful 'new' Rezum treatment. (I was already there for eye surgery.) I said 'book it Danno'. He looked into it, then apologised and said that he could not. My prostate was far too large. After another failed try of medicine and still no real sleep I said sod it. Take it out. (End of 2023.) I was not worried about most side affects as my wife died about 7 years ago. Had the operation - successful, which surprised the surgeon. Biggest prostate he had removed. One major problem though was they stuffed up the catheter insertion or removal - caused damage to the end of my urethra at the tip of the penis. Almost completely blocked/scarred. I could not urinate. Penis would swell up with urine and it just dribbled out. Multiple visits for a 'rebore' and in the end, the doc said, here are some catheters, save money and do it yourself. After about three months after the TURP, all good. Sleep has improved slightly. Now 2-3 hours between bathroom visits. I suspect some permanent damage after so many years of the enlarged prostate. I never sleep more than 6 hours anyway. Bladder control is OK but I would not impress anyone in the 'pizzing up the wall' contest. Some very attractive nurses 'attended' to me during my hospital stay and the rebores, but no reaction from the John Thomas.
  19. So let's put all of our trust with our lives and a multi million dollar piece of equipment in a newby. What could possibly go wrong.
