BREAKING NEWS British lawyer latest to fall in Laos alcohol poisoning tragedy
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in World News
Apparently, this all kicked off around November 10th. The first victims fell ill shortly after that with the Aussie girls being hospitalised on the 13th. Not sure when the Danes passed away (they were the first), but is seems that the Laos police did nothing to investigate this until it was raised at government level earlier this week. Makes the Thai police almost look proactive. RIP youngsters. So sad.- 141 replies

People are NOT poking the bear. They are trying to kick it's buttt out of an innocent country that it has invaded and where it is killing innocent people. Please rethink your your (mis)understanding. It is the 'bear' that is escalating things. Go nuclear? Bring it on. The bear will do it regardless, but please stop all of this 'if you repel me, I will nuke you' rubbish. 'The bear' started this. why are you supporting it?

Thai rider physically assaulted female client over confusing address
Tropicalevo replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
I feel a tad sorry for delivery drivers and taxis etc trying to follow Google maps or whatever. Here on Samui - the maps are inaccurate with some sois not being on the map and some in the wrong place. I live on an unnamed sub soi. It is in fact two roads from the main soi, which heads in three different direction with the ends of those roads being 1.5 kilometers apart. Then we have the house numbering system. I built three houses. Numbered 8/23, 8/52 and 8/11. They are in a row on the same plot of land. The house number tells you when it was built - not where it is. 23rd house built, 52nd house built, 11th house built. My next door neighbour is 8/159! Then we have 'sponsored' street names. Named after the hotel that sponsors the sign. Just because it is there on the internet, does not mean that it is accurate or true. -

House Panel Lacks Authority to Summon Thaksin for Inquiry
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Anyone in Thailand is above the law if they have enough money/power. We have all seen too many examples Red Bull, Prawit, Charoen Pokphand and so on. The dinosaurs are only after Thaksin because he has the poor behind him - doesn't support the military/uber-rich. Three of the Thaksin Clan kicked out by the military so far, and one more in the pipeline. The military will fabricate any evidence and create any sub committee in order to remove the Thaksin dynasty. -

Appeal Launched for British Teacher Gravely Injured in Thailand Crash
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
That would be quite a lot of money for most parents in the UK these days. As I read things, this is a 'quick help - need it now' to get him stable enough so that he can sort out the insurance. Who knows what happens after that.- 233 replies

Thai Tesla driver admits reckless driving after argument - video
Tropicalevo replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
In a previous report in AN, the guy said that the car was not his. He had borrowed it. A bit more realistic than when I was fined back in 2000. It was 50 baht then. (They would not accept my paper UK licence.) -
Thai PM Criticised for Fashion Choices at Global Summit
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Not that choice of clothes is relevant, but she is still ahead of Boris in the fashion stakes. (Bring back Chamberlain style) -
Or to shine a different light on the matter, how about - - they saw a guy, drunk as a skunk, and thought that he would be an easy mark. Offered to give him a lift, and when he was in the van, they tried to rob him. He fought back and they gave up and kicked him out. I am not saying that is what happened, but it's another way of looking at it.

I am surprised. After all, drugs are cheaper and easier to obtain. But hey - let's hit the legal stuff again.

Election Commission Urged to Probe Thaksin’s Dual Citizenship

What business is this that the Election Commission has to make a ruling on? The dinosaur's must be very frightened and desperate in their continued attempts to remove the Thaksins from any form of power. -
