Speaking of nonsense ?
Let's make half hour prior if the staff are overweight, why trouble them.

Well why is there this period of time 2 till 5 you can not buy alcohol
When they made this law, a few years ago, i think the official reason behind it was to avoid the students to get drunk after going out of school.

The problem in Thailand is that most Thai people cannot think for themselves. This is not being anti-Thai but realistic. Foreigners have their own faults and ways of thinking. Thais do not care much for customer service. It would have been so easy to allow the customer to take his 2 bottles of alcohol, escort him to the register and say to his wife- We normally don't allow it but this time we want to assist you. The OP would have been happy ; the store would be happy and smiles all around.
I agree with you, but some Thai friend who works as a manager in a central Bkk mall, believes that customer is god.
Simply because if you don't offer a good service, the customers will go elsewhere.

Definitely i would avoid islands and beaches, it can be very boring if you're not lucky with the weather.

We have been studyied the link between tree growth and average temps in modern times, we know the accuracy rates, below is the correlation between temp and growth made using modern data which I am sure you don't dispute.
We have also studied the link between sea ice levels and average temperatures in modern times, we also know those accuracy rates, below is a graph plotting the correlation between temp change and sea ice levels using modern data which I am sure you also don't dispute.
There is nothing to suggest that tree growth did not directly correlate to average temperatures in the past and there is also nothing to suggest that sea ice levels did not directly correlate to average temperatures in the past, thus by measuring the distance between tree rings that were growing 1500 years ago we can calculate the level of sea ice at the same time.
A similar process is possible to achieve from lake sediment and ice cores, the study used these three sets of data and produced the graph I posted before.
Sorry, but i disagree with sea ice levels being the only factor in average temperatures.

Well, i know it's not a big deal, really, but the shop rule is wrong. Alcool sales stop at 2pm, not at 13.50
If i was the owner i would sack one of the staff for neglecting their duty.

People pushing into queue and "quick quick , hurry up" and alcohol getting left around the till area because people were too late and the arguments about what the actual time is .
"My watch says 1 57 PM" etc and to stop these issues arising , they just close the alcohol section ten minutes beforehand .
Quite understandable
Well, in this case, as the OP stated, the counters were empty.
Why do you insist in defending what is wrong ?

Muslims formally and absolutely, as the true word of god believe women are inferior to men. That is the law. The spin off from.this belief is the view that all non muslim.women are infidel prostitutes. Some of the vilest excuses for manhood come from certain countries. And although their sexual sickness, sanctioned by state, culture and religion is seeping into Europe I have zero sympathy for any free women, of any nationality, class or back ground who gets involved with such men. They deserve it. Harsh but having seen the plight and daily torment of women in countless such countries, I think any free women, who goes with such guys is a collaborator in the repression of other women. However, I believe her and think he's running businesses illegally. Pattaya is a M ****m mafia town.
Well, the Iranians i have met seemed to be normal, decent people.
The same i can say about any other Nationality.
I have nothing against Muslims too, and personally i try to avoid sweeping generalisations.
About men vs women, well, it's a long story.

The shaving head part is a weird one
After the allies won the war, it was common practice, in European countries, to shave the women who were sharing the bed with the Germans.
As i see it, it's a form of humiliation.

Words like Iran/Iranian, Muslim, Arab, Indonesia/Indonesian, Malay/Malaysian seem to cause an alarming number of members on this Forum to lose their sense of fairness and ability to consider a situation with a minimum of objectiveness.
Well, to be fair , a lot of members lose the ability to be objective when a girl working in Pattaya is involved.
A match made in heaven if you ask me.

That’s what I tend to do when I decide my future road trips. I actually enjoy that part of it, the planning, the route and where I want to stop before booking the accommodation.
You never get to see everything because there is just too much but the net has everything covered usually.
Sent from my iPad using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile appYep, also very useful and enjoyable to talk with other travellers which you meet on the way, they may tell you things which are not mentioned in any guide.

Easy, just google all the provinces you intend to visit, and some neighbouring ones for good measure, and find out what is there which is worth to see.
Just a few hours work and you have a great guide.

It's such a pity this thread has degenerated into ad hominem attacks, which are the antithesis of the scientific methodology.
I provided a link to the latest IPCC technical summary in post #144, where significant doubt is expressed, by government sponsored climate scientists, about any global increase in extreme weather events during the past thousand years, due to a lack of reliable evidence, yet that fact seems to have been completely ignored by the alarmist posters in this thread.
Please try to address the quality and validity of the arguments presented, otherwise nobody learns anything.
I tend to agree with you, recently i read some middle-age chronicles about weather in middle Europe.
Those chronicles describe heavy snow in May or September, horrific wind storms which i never saw in my life, catastrophic floods and 1 year-long droughts...
A recent example is Krakatoa volcano explosion, 1893 if i remember well, it affected the whole world for many years, and you cannot blame humans for such events.

1. You deny human driven climate change. But accept that the climate is changing. Nothing can be done. It's all natural cycles etc.
2. You agree with 99% of climate scientists who say current climate change is due to human activity. You accept that under the current global economic system climate change is unstoppable. Nothing has been done and nothing can be done.
In both cases the outcome is the same. Mass starvation. Mass migration. The worlds population squeezed into a narrower band of habitable land. Unpredictable weather with storms becoming stronger and droughts becoming longer.
Younger generation feel shafted by greedy aged population. Cynicism towards those in power. Apathy and nihilistic outlook. Realization that capitalism with its promise of finding happiness in the ownership of 'things' has been a failure. People no longer having security find themselves in persistent low-level states of fear triggered by exaggerated media stories. Distrust towards the 'other' and unwillingness to find happiness in relationships. Increased social isolation and addictive behaviour. No ability to build communities. Everyone becoming an expat - even in their own country.
This is the immediate future.
It will be interesting to see how the world is after the old climate change deniers die out. The hope is that the younger generations will move into powerful positions and make the necessary changes. My generation (50 plus) has completely failed.
Nice one, but i have more faith in nature than in the younger generations.
