I wish I could be surprised or shocked at this story.

Sadly life is regarded pretty cheaply in Thailand.

฿50K to kill people, says a lot.

Very tragic, and hard for the people left behind. No mention if they had children. In many ways I hope neither of them did, since would devastatingly hard for them to bare, having your parents brutally murdered.

They have a young daughter, living abroad, she arrived in Thailand yesterday or the day before.

But she obviously carried through with it by being interviewed by the police and medically examined, that's probably classed as effectively making a complaint in this kind of case.

I hardly think so. It is cooperating with an investigation into  whether or not a crime occurred.

She did not at any time file charges.

There is a new article today on the other paper.

I hate to say that, but the poster you quoted could be right.

There are many irregularities and a man who they say knows the victim is helping with inquiries.

He has denied knowing her or any involvement in her death. Thai media says the couple worked together in Malaysia

Quality writing there. The man who knows her denies knowing her. Are we speaking biblically perhaps?

    'They say knows the victim'

    'He has denied knowing her'

it seems not difficult to understand.

well was the bag put in the bin before she died or after? If she was murdered surely the murderer would be smart enough to do a little better.

Almost seems like shes had enough and decided to end things and im never one to scream suicide. I think rarely are they ever suicides.

You'd be surprised, criminals are often stupid and don't think of such things.

I would go further, murderers are not smart by definition.

It is happening already, the world is watching Scandinavia move into sustainable energy production, learning from them and copying them, many countries have responded to the example they are setting.

True, but you are talking about the richest countries which happen to be the less populated.

I just read the other day that in USA they are making life difficult to the ones who try to live "off grid".

As long as the 3. World countries do not stop polluting and increasing their populations, it is unfortunately useless, that civilized countries do anything about global warming.

First of all all burnings of forests and fields will have to stop. Burning garbage should only  be allowed in incinerators which produce energy. Plastic will make an excellent fuel.

Well, i think it's just unfair to blame the so called  '3rd world' countries for trying to copy the western lifestyle.

You know, also the unwashed want a shower from time to time.

Granted, most of the people we run into on the trail are Thais from Bangkok or elsewhere.  Most also avail themselves of the vehicles which carry people most of the way up to the mountain top, leaving a relatively short walk.  We prefer to park next to the main road and walk all the way but the ride in the back of a four wheel drive pickup can be exciting in its own way.

Great pictures as usual VF, still i suspect i should not take for granted such glorious weather, specially in this season.

So the master mind was in custody, got bail, jumped bail

It was clear he was inside the property and stole the car after the "disappearance" - so suspicion he knew at least that they were not there

If that's not reason enough to keep him in custody until the case was resolved- I don't know

I would expect legal action to be taken against these police

What if they were using him as a bait to catch the perps ?

    Just speculating of course.

and your "helpful comment" would be what ?

Well, i admit that my comments on this topic were not very helpful.

But i want to make up for it, so, if this story is true, i would recommend to the OP to read Thai Visa Forum for 1 year or so, before any other "investment", that way he could save a lot of money.

what kind of sick **** pays to have his own sister bludgeoned to death.

feel bad for their daughter and hope they catch that rat real quick.

they pretty much knew he was at least involved in what would probably be murder and let him out on bail!

rtp do a good job sometimes but always seem to manage to screw something up.

I would not jump to conclusions yet, it seems likely that the brother is the mastermind behind the murders, and it seems likely that the Police will catch him.

Or at least i hope so.

The leftists/socialists/Marxist-Leninists of Gore Bull Warming Alarmism say that we have to give up capitalism and replace it with far left Socialism at the very least.

I guess that you said that as a joke, but imo, should all the world leaders agree on a serious plan to reduce drastically the CO2, that would be the first step.

And that's the main reason why i think it's so difficult, if not impossible to do something serious about that.

Personally I would go and see them, preferably with a Thai Friend and face up to them with copies of all your evidence and demand your money here and now.  If that fails, ring the Police (or get your Thai Friend to do it) whilst you are in their office.  Hopefully that should solve the problem, then leave and make sure they do not have your home address, some of these people can ber quite nasty!  If it comes down to getting a lawyer, personally I would forget about it as the cost is more than the worth of the bike.  Good luck and yes keep telling the troll posters to keep their stupid, unhelpful comments to themselves.  The fact that some have lived in Thailand for a long time is not necessarily an indication of commonsense, as you sadly have already found out.

On a lighter note, i'm holding my breath while waiting for the updates on this truly amazing story :whistling:
