  1. That's my point, we don't count that much, even if 7.7 billions fart at exactly the same time ????
  2. Careful, some brainwashed individual may call you " conspiracy theorist ". In fact, it just needs a freaky, unknown little volcano to wake up, and straight we go into another ice age, if not worse.
  3. What about staying on topic, and tell with your words what you think about? ..if that's not too complicated, of course.
  4. I think not many on the planet have the slightest clue what you're talking about. Are you American? ????
  5. That's probably true for the majority of people, but one can try to bring positive changes into the existence, at least on personal basis. Criticizing alone is not enough.
  6. What you say about Islam is quite debatable, so excuse me if i play "devil's advocate " just a bit.. Were "Christians " successful in bringing democracy in places like Afghanistan, or other countries in the middle east ? Of course you can put all the blame on the natives, but that would be very much debatable too.
  7. Welcome back Vincent, although i tend to agree with your post, I'll have to split hairs once again.. it's not just about the fairy tale of global warming, it's about shamelessly telling lies to the masses in the name of science.. I think somebody calls it " scientism". Follow the money, same old, same old.
  8. For me it's a lack of interesting opinions, what can i say to people who think that physical reality is the only reality.. ????
  9. Guess much faith is needed to believe that ????
  10. There's something tribal about it, and that ball.. it looks like an un-edible dinosaur egg.. the American version of it is even worse.
  11. Lol, i had to Google it. ..where I come from, the young folks who cannot play football, basketball, volleyball, tennis and table tennis, and they hate books too... .. they go to play rugby ????
  12. It has been said countless times on this thread and since time immemorial. I am surprised you've managed such a long post, so if it's not too much effort and you're still reading, it's "binary" and not "binery". Glad to help ????
  13. Ask scientists, recently they seem to know everything ???? ...but you'll need some faith to believe them ????
  14. I also find the explanations of the holy trinity difficult to understand. However, having re-discovered my interest in religion on a trip to India long time ago, I find the Hindu explanation rather easy and handy. The Hindu trinity is composed by the main forces in the universe, creation, preservation and destruction.
  15. That reminds me of an exchange I had with my then girlfriend when i was about 20. It highlights a difference between women (pragmatic) and men (dreamers). I like Steinbeck's work btw, great novelist.
  16. Are you sure ? Did some extraterrestrials tell you that ? Actually i very much suspect that ancient gods of various mythologies may have been extraterrestrials, yes still part of the intelligent design.
  17. Well, i understand your point, but "humanity" has many facets. Let's just compare the life of J.S. Bach, or Jesus Christ, to the life of Jack the ripper, and their gifts to the world.. It would be wrong, imho, to limit God to human thought, but in some cases, one has to wonder if it's the man who becomes God, or it's God who becomes man.
  18. Astrology, rightly or wrongly, has been, in recent centuries, degraded as nonsense. yet, as i believe that nothing, or very little happens by chance, and as i believe that the ancient people were not less intelligent than modern people, and while admitting that many, if not most, astrologers are just charlatans without a clue, i would give astrology the benefit of the doubt. .. And even if astrology was totally absurd, i find astrological charts, with all those complicated calculations, simply fascinating .
  19. That's correct, but it's just because we are, since time immemorial, living in a patriarchal society. Things may change in the future, although non necessarily for the best, as justice and equality seem to be at odds with the physical realm.
  20. I'd guess that he accepts the existence of constellations, but not the belief that constellations may have some sort of influence over people's lives.
  21. A bit of skepticism is good, whatever hypothesis or theory you choose to believe imho, and that includes your opinion about space and time. In my opinion, space and time are concepts whose understanding is still a work in progress.
  22. When a finger points at the moon, the imbecile looks at the finger. (Chinese Proverb)
