Anyone doing business with a West African needs to tread very carefully.

I'm impressed with your intelligence. You're obviously right, no racism detected here.

I'm British, I have a stockpile of gloves worth 5m baht, send me 1m cash and I'll send them to you... you give me another 4m on delivery ???? sorted.

The court decided that so grave was the crime and so bad was the impact on society and the country as a whole that despite the fact seven of the defendants admitted their guilt no mercy should be shown.

Yet ploughing down a policeman with a Ferrari they allow time for the player to take a break and leave the country on a private jet. These idiots weren't paying enough I guess.

However, in a military regime it appears resorting to uncivilised death sentences is fitting. How long before they'll just have a free for all shooting poor people, maybe even a few students, for complaining about their overlords?

Pattaya gets millions of tourists from all around the world.

Wow, and there's me thinking they'd practically shut it down.

But the basic way it works in Thailand is that they do some costing, multiply by ten, discount the final total by 73.2% and apply for a 10 billion baht loan with an intent to spend maybe 2billion building the project - this is certainly the way it works upcountry. I remember someone investing heavily - paying householders 1000 each to vote for him. First project = build new roads AND have enough money left over for a new house and car.

#10= not being able to buy some western foods or ingredients here.

Yes, it's hard to fulfil any recipe that grabs your fancy here.

Add to that the price of a can of baked beans - limited choice, often substandard quality compared to what we'd buy in England for much much less. Knowledge that the reason for the hike is mostly to support a greedy government.

    This website and its adverts.

Doh - I see no ads. They're only for 1. People who want to allow them to make more money for TV, or 2. Noobs who haven't been online before or 3. Idiots who don't know what uBlock Origin does and can't search on duckduckgo for solutions.

One could extrapolate that to being a TVF member.

Hanging out for hours on here when we could be out doing something, shocking! We should get a life.

Wow, hours? I'm lucky if I manage a full minute.

Rarely much of interest though - Twitter is more interesting, recently reading Andrew Marshall's report about just how long it takes to take a post down when the big guy in Germany shouts 'remove that content!!!'.

Hello folks, I'm curious to what stuff in thai that triggers your stress.

For me listed up below as just came up to me mind.

Hope to hear yous rant as well...

    1. Slow drivers on the fast lane

     - no stress here, there is no 'fast lane' - but general stupid incompetence (like turning right and driving into your face because they're lazy to cross your lane before turning).

    2. My car getting Scratched. I though who cause this vandalism was for high school drop outs or money short college kids back home. Here, seems happening with adults.

Probably people who know you ???? Never happened to me.

    3. Going to expensive  poor quality packed restaurants with family and friends.

Who's stupid enough to go to expensive poor quality packed restaurants? My family and friends always choose good ones - why don't you choose?

    4. Screaming kids and adult neighbors

Lol yes, I hate Thai kids.

    5. 2nd hand smoke, although I do smoke

ROFL - I haven't come across smoke for several years, and took up vaping 2 years ago, so no sympathy there. Not even sure where you'd go to find smoke these days...

    6. Ppl making big money on YouTube

I hate the spammy channels and gaming channels my son watches - Roblox played by screaming singaporean girls...

    7. <deleted> up video ad on Thai visa forum...

Never saw any video ads on Thai Visa forums. Maybe you're a big of a browser noob.

    What's yours mate??

Mine would be whinging Ozzies ????

  8. In England, we're scared to do it because they have a very clever idea - TRAFFIC POLICE driving around in cars. They stop people and breathalyse them... I was always nervous going in to town in the car in the evening when pubs were open, there would be police lurking all over the place.

In Thailand, police have a more interesting approach, standing at junctions all day and sleep all evening.

  9. Simple facts... in 2001 I started with a Honda CB400, working up to a GSX-R. Riding here is a party - I mean you can go as fast as you want anywhere you like, but not expressways... though I had a regular run down the motorway for one job for a while that was good fun, and another job out in Bang Bua Thong that let me get a good run of 250-300km/h to blow out cobwebs.

There is no real enforcement. Driving a car on the expressway, you can get cameras snapping you for speeding, even changing lanes, but generally bad behaviour is not caught unless one of those police standing at the off-shoots at busy times spots you and manages to stop you.

If you don't stop, generally you're home free... nobody with money gives a toss, Mercedes/BMW - no problems whatsoever.

They have no policing, so none of it really matters - the only way to start is to start by revolution. I mean maybe limit current driving licences to a 5 year life pending a proper driving test to give a permanent 'proper' full licence. Scooter riders should be treated equally with car and superbike riders for a basic licence, and later on think about adding an advanced test for bigger bikes if necessary (though they're essentially banned from motorways anyway).

  10. I picked up 2 recently after my e-blue got dropped...

Both of them are perfect, one is bigger and fits my hand nicer than the other.

Both excellent trackers with thumb buttons.

Both stupid cheap, and much better than the Nubwo I bought a few years back for my wife's laptop.

Get them COD from Lazada - VicTsing PC073 (big one - expensive at 320 baht) and the equally great, though slightly smaller MM057 (wow - 153 baht)

  11. If they're going to include Big Bikes with some kind of full licence as being roadworthy and able to use the expressway, then this could be a good idea.

Otherwise they're subject to the same speed limits (and the same maximum speed) as scooters - so it's a ridiculous story.

Perhaps - like the recently introduced 'big bike parking' which means you're not allowed to park anything over 250cc for free in the bike parking areas - it's just another way to get money from people.

Given the way most people ride scooters around here, they should just have ONE licence that actually means something before draughting more stupid regulations with claimed intent to improve safety.

  12. I very much doubt that he had ANYTHING to do with it. Thai's are never responsible...

When I asked my son's school why the school busses were constantly overloaded in the mornings (one reason he never gets to go in the vans) they simply said they'll talk to the contracters about it - they aren't the school's responsibility.

Standard Thai responsibility architecture - and they can never be held responsible for people working underneath them. The higher up the chain you go, the cleaner you get.
