  1. why was Samui Airport used for militairy plane in the first place? i used to live on Samui, and i know that this is a private airport owned by Bangkok Airways. what were they doing there? and the 54 passengers? was it maybe a weekend trip for some 'chosen' officials, paid by taxpayers? and brakefailure? in my naivity i always thought before lift off, every pilot (civil or militairy) must do a loooong list of checks before even start...
  2. isn't that the same GlobalForum in Davos to where all leaders fly in their private jets? and why is her dear daddy not mentioned? every time he whispers a new move in her ears...
  3. another innocent child saved by rescuers... parents should take better responsibility!
  4. many years ago for tours we had a Thai guide and a T/L managing the usual group of 25 farangs travelling thru the Kingdom! Thai guide usually spoke to the group outside and me as T/L inside the bus: no problem and at the end we shared what we had made... the usual 'baksheesh' here & there the Thai guide arranged. i see these 'guides' operate alone, that's a lot different and more greedy! must be ready to share!
  5. and Thai authorities failed to check how these foreign companies work here...
  6. there's a lot more to this story: maybe she was 'working' for him and did not hand over all the money that was made... i mean anything is possible! especially after she did not press charges...
  7. good for you, but some people here are less fortunate and must rely on public transport! but i do agree that maintenance is a key-factor often 'forgotten' here...
  8. come on man! you wanted to play with fire and now you're burned, you cry foul...
  9. the 300 b they offered: they should do this in Israel and give the driver 300 b only, interesting to see what will happen! 1500 b not to bad for cleaning someone else's poop, medical cause or not, it's still poop!
  10. when Thaksin says "there's nothing to worry about" thèn i start to worry...
  11. just buy a dog-whistle: problem solved!
  12. have been, tourist trap, never again...
  13. "Thai education is overly focused on uniforms rather than on giving students skills for use in the future and preparing them for the demands of the global economy" FINALLY they wake up and cut this nonsense... when my daughter entered the secondary school her teacher told me that she would need to have two ponytails instead of the one I would braid for her every morning. i answered that it's not that important how her hair looks, but more what is done with the inside of her head... this is 6 years ago! FINALLY now they agree with me...
  14. a surprise-visit would have given a better idea about their real treatment... this move is only for public opinion...
  15. the Palestinians don't need to look for other countries to live, simply because they have their own already!
  16. AIS = Thaksin cleaning up their mess...
  17. Bangkok comparing to Fukuoka? that's already a wrong start...
  18. money talks and nothing else!...
  19. this is definitely nót about that war, but more about their behaviour in Pai!
  20. i read '90-s, then i remember back in early '90s in Samui where i used to stay and later lived for a number of years, that several resorts would say that they are fully booked, when Israelis enter... still bungalows available but they want to control who stays there without trouble of some kind. not only one resort, several small sev big! also KohPhangan! at first i was shocked to hear about this, because i have not been brought up like that,[generalizing, judgemental etc is not done] but apparently along the way one learns difference....
  21. didn't know that 'over-70-ers' could move over to more quiet Thai lanes... i will be flying down to Europe in April and coming back mid May... i'll try that too, as i am 72!
