I keep much less that that with them, usually GBP10,000 to GBP 20,000. They have not complained. Are you sure you're reading requirements for private customers, and not the corporate? In fact I have never held that much in that account. Mind you, I've been their customer, and previous incarnations since Tyndall IoM since 1980's. I know that they want you to keep a minimum of GBP5,000. Less than that ,they will charge you a small fee. -

Check on their webpage, or give them a call. They have been always very helpful whenever I called them. -

Move your account to Santander International on Isle of Man. Haven't had any problems with them so far. -
What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2024)
SpaceKadet replied to Rimmer's topic in Entertainment
I just finished watching 3 seasons of “From Dusk Till Dawn”, a 2014 TV series, a spin-off of the Quentin Tarantino movie by the same name. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3337194/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_3_tt_8_nm_0_in_0_q_from%20dusk https://www.imdb.com/video/vi1531293721/?playlistId=tt3337194&ref_=tt_ov_vi I am not a great fan of the vampire genre, but I did like the movie and the TV series did not disappoint. Plenty of action, adventure, drama, and vampirical blood splatter. Highly recommended for all Vampirical fans. The famous Cheech Marin “kitty” speech in front of the Titty Twister bar from the original movie is there, but slightly toned down for the TV series. If nothing else, you can also feast your eyes on the ever so sexy and gorgeous Eiza Gonzales, as the vampire queen Santanico. The series is by Netflix, but I don’t think they stream it anymore. Unfortunately, it might be difficult to find on the P2P network, and it’s not well seeded. It took me a few weeks to get all the episodes. -

The one from 2006, or the new movie Andromeda from 2022? Give us a link to IMDB please. -

Last episode of "Hotel Cocaine" just dropped. "Tells the story of Roman Compte, Cuban exile, CIA operative, and general manager of the Hotel Mutiny, the glamorous epicenter of the late '70s and early '80s Miami cocaine scene." https://www.imdb.com/title/tt17676706/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 Contemporary with "Scarface". Good action and drama. -
Which members do you think are Russian/Chinese/NK etc bots?
SpaceKadet replied to gargamon's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Well, probably not many, if any, AI bots. But a fair amount of Chinese and PRK 5 cent bloggers, probably no Russians yet, only commie supporters. They all come out of woodwork, like cockroaches, when there is a topic started that is against the official policy. Just remember what was posted when Dalai Lama was visiting Thailand some years back. And how they all scattered when the the topic run it's cause. -
Is this Apple Video insulting to Thailand ?
SpaceKadet replied to CharlieH's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I don't think Thais should be insulted. It's the Americans that should be insulted by this video, showing them off as a bunch of idiots as soon as they leave their home country. But, let's face it, it's that Jewish comedy style that is so prevalent now in comedy movies. Anybody watched Dumb & Dumber, or The Interview? -
Move Forward MP Advocates for Legalising AVs and Sex Toys
SpaceKadet replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There are tones of AV sites that are not blocked and can be accessed with any browser without VPN. Many much better than PornHub. They just can't block them all, it's too many of them, and new ones popping up all the time. Not even to mention all the image sites. -
Thanks for the update Ombra. Looks like the Immigration appointment booking site is broken, of some parts of it at least. I'm coming from further south than you, so we'll probably drive to Hua Hin day before and spend a nigh in a hotel, like we've done in the past. Treat it as a mini holiday. I'll try to be there before 10:00 as have to update the bankbook and make some copies. Since they moved to the new office, it's always been crowded when I went there.

I made an online appointment 2 days ago, but just like the poster here didn't receive any email confirmation. @Ombra did the immigration honor you appointment when you showed up? I did some look around the immigration website, and found out that both Division 2 and Division 3 are missing from the Online Appointment link. Also discovered that some provincial immigration offices are missing on their division link, like Phuket for Division 6. Did anybody else had problems with online appointments?

It's not as easy as you seem to think. How do you restore a backup to thousands of computers when they don't even boot up? Unfortunately, in this case each will have to be restored individually. That's what is taking long time, plus the fact that the update was pushed on a Friday night. Limited support over the weekend. I'm sure potential adversaries are leaning from this.

Changing 18” wheels to 17”

I think that Accord looks pretty cool. Wouldn't mind as my next car. -
You are sensible, never mix spirits when you are in for heavy drinking. I prefer quality vodka (Absolut) or gin (Blue Sapphire) and stick with it the whole evening. Have been known to empty a whole bottle of frozen vodka in one evening without much ill effects next day. That was a few years ago though.

Anyone experiencing extremely slow mail deliveries?
SpaceKadet replied to giddyup's topic in Pattaya
I stopped receiving mails, domestic and external, in October last year. Things like end of year statements from my banks and investments, renewed credit card, and all local invoices never got to me. No mail at all for several months. Eventually I went to the local post office and spoke to the postmaster. She was all apologies and smiles, but said there was no mail for me in the post office. She gave me the phone number for the local postman. I thought it would be pointless to talk to him, and was preparing to complain higher up, when the post started to arrive again. Only external though, no local bills or invoices. Later we found out that they hired a new postman and he didn't deliver to anybody in his area. Many complained and eventually the postman got replaced. Still not getting local bills for internet, satellite subscription and such. Will probably have to call them and let them handle the post office. Edit: In retrospect, the post serviced in Thailand got much worse after covid. Before 2022 all the mail arrived very promptly. Of course, the external mail would take 10-14 days, but it arrived. -
It's for retirement extension. I've been using Hua Hin for 10 years now. Sometimes it can be very crowded. Switched to retirement 2 years ago because the IO's gave us so much hassle doing the yearly married extension. Some times it took us 4 hours, and some other times I had to come back. I made an appointment last year and had my retirement extension and 90 day reporting within 30 minutes. I have 2.5 hour drive to Hua Hin. To be there at 8:15 I would have to start from home before 6am. Not something I would be willing to do. 90 days I do at Dan SingKorn immigration. In and out in 5 minutes with very friendly and smiling IO's. It still takes 45 minutes to drive there though, but I can easily do that before they break for lunch, and we can do our shopping in PKK before driving back home.

We have a cat, and that monster animal is spoiled silly by my wife. He will only eat Japanese tuna in jelly, and Korean kibbles at 90 baht per small pack per day. As an advantage though, he keeps the house free from rodents, squirrels and snakes, and have been known to attack dogs and trespassers. To the point that everybody around is scared <deleted>less to step into our property
