  1. Please do tell what it was you could not source.
  2. Not at all. Fire away. As I pointed out, it was not me that suggested all jobs were in rural areas. That was someone else.
  3. They were more than welcome to stay if they had the required documentation. Staying past Brexit was a simple procedure. Just ask the millions that managed it.
  4. No. Not since Brexit. The cost of living crisis has been going since the end of Covid crisis and the Russian invasion of UK. Nice try though. Prior to Covid the UK had low inflation, low energy costs, low fuel costs, low interest rates......need I go on? No I don't. It's all on the big Ole WWW for all to see.
  5. Looks like you quoted the wrong person with the " not located in rural areas".
  6. No deflection. You quoted and asked me "what unemployed?". I answered. Shortages of supermarket jobs have been well publicised. There are many jobs in hospitals that require minimal " on the job training" such as; porters, HCAs, patient transport drivers, cooks, kitchen staff and domestics. Warehouses, Amazon and Lidl are always advertising. Factories, just ask Chomper. He keeps saying food processing is badly understaffed.
  7. Do you really believe the only jobs out there are picking fruit? Oh dear. How many of the unemployed live in the vicinity of a supermarket, factory, warehouse or hospital? Just 4 examples of where jobs are available.
  8. Complex? That's funny. You missed out the most important and relevant part. Never mind. Keep your blinkers on if it suits you.
  9. That's nice. However, it still appears you did not read my post.
  10. You clearly did not read my post. If you did, you selected bits you liked and fitted with your criteria.
  11. I know many many EU workers who dodon'work in a seasonal job, have been in UK for many years, paid tax and therefore did not meet with the bureaucracy you speak of. Let's face it, compared to many EU countries, salaries and working conditions are far superior in UK. Why would prople leave if they didn't have to? As asked of me by colleagues from Romania.
  12. The current unemployment rate in UK is 3.8%. That's quite a lot of people.
  13. That's a good point. I have been told by many colleagues, mainly Polish and Romanian, it was not that difficult to stay after Brexit so long as documents were in order. Such documents included tax and NI payment history. It seems many workers left not because they wanted to but because they had to.
  14. They might have thought it would encourage the unemployed to get off their backsides and do some work instead of scrounging benefits.
  15. It is strange that one posters suggests a "vast increase" in legal migration whilst, at the same time, you speak of people leaving and only high end migrants being sought.
  16. How strange. Other posters have been banging on about how Brexit caused so many migrants to leave and cause mass shortages of workers. Now you say migration has vastly increased. There have been lots of other reasons why illegal migration has increased. Namely the boom in people trafficing as a business. It's happened in EU countries too. It can,t be blamed on Brexit.
  17. Care to answer my question? Please also read my post again. I don’t recall suggesting what you seem to think I did.
  18. Quoting Wiki. Love it. So, governments implement policies. However, the post you quoted also suggested Farage being " involved". Are you suggesting all government advisors are elected?
  19. He's blaming the same people you are. By your reckoning, that makes you both as bad as each other.
  20. 5555. You are still siding with Farage to make a point. That is funny. His reasoning and your reasoning are polar opposites.
  21. I said Brexiteers. Not leading politicians. Of course politicians are going to dress things up. They always do, from all sides. It was plain to see that such a seismic move was going to create challenges.
  22. Incorrect. Once again, that is not what I said. If one were to say " Brexit has failed in many aspects thus far", it would be difficult to disagree. Did any one, even leave voters think it would be plain sailing right from the start? I don't know any who did. Add to that, to the disdain of many remainers, the other major world issues governments have face since 2020, it's not surprising the Brexit process has suffered.
