I think if you send it by EMS it might get here within a reasonable time frame. Won't be cheap but a debit card is very useful.

I also have a debit card in the UK waiting to be sent. So far I can still use my other two so I have not given the green light to have it sent.

True. The country is being sold to the Chines in the form of bonds , hence one of the reasons the Thai baht stays strong. Influx of hot money.

If you think this is bad try crossing a busy road in Phnom Penh. They come at you from every angle except the sky.

Used to clean my old unit like that and its not bad as a stop gap measure but can't beat a proper clean if you can find a decent cleaning service. 

The fins on top are a lot bigger than a toothbrush can reach so another tip is to get some air con cleaning spray from Big C , Spray the foam over the fins and wait for it to dissolve then poor warm water ( from kettle ) slowly and gradually over the top of the fins to wash out the residual cleaning flow.

Might need to do this 2 or 3 times.

The drain hole in the bottom tray is pretty small and usually gets clogged up with mucas like crud , often causing the air con to drip water over the floor. Simplest way to unblock it is to blow as hard as you can down the end of the overflow pipe. ( clean the end and mask it first ). This will unblock the pipe but the crud will often spurt out the front of the air con so make sure to put a dust sheet over any furniture .

Go now before the 1.5 million tourists predicted arrive.

Much as I predicted to a friend a few weeks ago. An extension with the caveat that you either get the proper extension from immigration or leave.

Bound to be a few desperate chancers who do neither and risk overstay.

Too bad that all neighboring countries are currently not open to tourists meaning people effected will have to go to their passport country.

True, but they would have to be pretty uninformed to not know that thousands of foreigners are on the edge of their seats waiting for some kind of decision on this.

I think that if they had decided not to extend the deadline then they would have already announced the fact to avoid ugly crowds at immigration offices.

The longer they wait the more likely an extension will be given

This plus the fact that many foreigners will have already left during this first amnesty so the numbers affected will already be fewer.

If you don't have the funds for a retirement extension can the agent still help you ?
