  1. I live in AO Nang for 5 years and obviously I was in Ao nang when this happened. I like to believe that I am pretty well informed what is going on in Ao Nang, but this is the first time I hear of this.... Of course, everything NOT good for Ao Nang (Thailand), is pretty much not talked about...

To be very clear, I support the farther 100% (I am Dutch as well!) and I hope they play this VDO before and after the Thai Hymn (everyday!) for an extended period... However, I lived in Thailand a long time and I would be very very surprised if anything would happen at all...

Money talks, and here it has always the last word!!!

Good Luck! I hope Justice will be done (but doubt it very much!)

  2. Just do like Krabi - ban jet-skis - period

I didn't know that about Krabi. It's funny, I was down there vacationing, about 3 months ago, and now that you mention it, there weren't annoying loud and smoke-belching machines around on the waves, and there weren't daily extortions and ruined vacations there. Of course, the most reasonable policy for Pattaya and Phuket would be to ban all jetskis, 100%. They should have busted the extortionists, but that's beyond the authority's abilities.

Shame on Pattaya officials for waiting years to pretend to do the right thing. In the meantime, hundreds of tourists have had their vacations ruined. If you want something done as slow as humanly possible, get Thai bureaucracy involved.

Ao Nang, Krabi (Phi Phi as well) are part of the Phi Phi Marine National Park, and therefore jet-ski's are not allowed. Still we have other (Thai) problems, as anywhere else whistling.gif

  3. so is this a fake story or is it real??

Well actually it is satire. The first word on the page.

What is interesting is the way George's mind works. Now this is the kind of article he would normally post on April 1.

I am already looking forward to April, George! I am sure you have something very good in store clap2.gif

To answer the first question: of course this is real! Ever seen TV reporting on something that is NOT real or true?!?

  4. Asked what was the "symbolic impact" of his US visit, Thaksin said: "I just want to show that I can go anywhere but Thailand."

This is so UNtrue!! He CAN go to Thailand whenever he wants, but he is too scared for the consequences! I have no respect whatsoever for this spineless monkey-face.

  5. "There are four confirmed dead. We believe they are foreign tourists but it's not yet confirmed," Phuket deputy governor Chamroen Tipayapongtada told AFP by telephone.

"The four dead bodies were burnt beyond recognition. We cannot identify even their gender."

Three Singaporeans, one Japanese and a Myanmar national were among the dead, while scores of foreigners including some from Australia, France and Britain were injured.

Very suspicious that 3 Singaporeans, 1 Japanese and 1 Myanmar national makes 4 dead bodies..... Besides the obvious, these people were among the dead, meaning there are more people dead....

Likewise, they can not identify the gender, but they can identify the nationality.....(and they believe they are foreign tourists)

I think they need a crash course in CSI

HINT: do not believe everything (or is it "anything") you read...
