In general, it can be said that most tourists are very stupid. After all, they are human (at least most of them).
If they choose to ignore warnings, flags, (wise) advice from locals, then it is 'up to them' to get drowned. Som nam na!
Why do we have to feel sorry for all these stupid people?
Russian are a separate breed of humans. You can tell them something (most likely they do not listen anyway...), but they do whatever they want.
Why new signs in Russian??? There are no signs in my language as well, but I am smart enough to learn at least one language (so I can COMMUNICATE and UNDERSTAND)

Procedure for farang involved in accident:
- do NOT stop!
- proceed to next police station
- report accident
- (maybe) go back to accident scene (WITH police!)
This advice was given to me by the police...
It goes without saying that farang IS guilty (even if not guilty...). Police will have to paid.

It is FACT that the best (quality) drugs come from the police
And this is TRUE, not only for Thailand, but all over the world. It is just a matter of money....
Nothing new under the sun

In the Netherlands they have high quoted restaurants with rat meat, the name of the rat is musk-rat (delicious)
Actually it is called "muskus rat" in Dutch and the Belgians call it "water konijn" (=water rabbit), as it lives in and around the water (sweet water!). Unfortunately I have never eaten it as it is only served in expensive, high quality restaurants.
As for the Asian rats, I have never tried them, but I try everything at least once and then I decide whether I like it or not (also the Isaan insects). Sad but true, it is near impossible to get a juicy rabbit here. I have this great recepy for Rabbit in Belgian beer, absolutely delicious (aroi maak maak!) (Easier to get the Belgian beer than the rabbit....)

The whole point is privacy!! They do not ask you if you like their policy change, they force you to accept it.....
"Our new Privacy Policy makes clear that, if you’re signed in, we may combine information you’ve provided from one service with information from other services. In short, we’ll treat you as a single user across all our products, which will mean a simpler, more intuitive Google experience."
Some (most?) people like that idea, but I for one want to make my own decisions and I might have a good reason to be treated as multiple users across products (my choice!).
What and how I surf and where I go on the internet is MY business! If I choose to share with others, I will do so, but that should MY decision, not Google's (or Facebook for that matter).
Big F...kcing Brother is already watching enough

Actually it is very easy to do this.... Just change the definition of what a drug user is, and voila, objective reached

IMHO 500 THB a day is complete madness! I know quite a few farang that would love to have 500 THB a day! IF this 500 THB would become the minimum in Thailand, ALL wages would go up. There would a lot of unemployment, as many people (thai and farang) could not afford to hire personel, so all prices would go etc etc.
In the end it would create a situation that everything would be so much more expensive that the buying power of 500THB would be the same as the buying power of, let's say, 200 THB now... same same, only the baht would be worthless!
Very bad idea!!!

As a Dutchman I object to the name Robert Amsterdam; this gives Amsterdam (the city) a bad reputation.
Robert A. sounds much much better (that's how we describe suspected persons)

"If the dens are found in Bangkok, perpetrators will be convicted according to the law."
Does that mean that if the dens are found outside BKK, perpetrators will not be convicted?!? Good to know.... my next gambling den will be outside BKK. Besides topless staff, there will also be short-time rooms on the premises. I am sure this will be a first in Thailand Imagine how shocked the police will be.....

The US should have a list for everyone who is NOT on one of their blacklists. This is a lot easier to maintain as almost everybody will be on one (or more) of their blacklists. We can call this list the white-list; it is probably a very small list
But hey, mai pen rai, they are on my blacklist

Nothing to worry about as:
All suspicious individuals had departed Thailand and any attempts to stir up trouble had been foiled, he said.
So why is it that I still see many people (and police as well ) in the streets and on the roads?????
Lets also not forget that the US is governed by a strategy of fear...

Terrorists need vacation time as well! It is a stressful job... What better place to chill than Thailand
That is also why they stepped up surveillance in Kao San road and Pattaya... It is easy in these places to spot a farang

The driver attempted to run the police officer down with the car, and the officer was dragged nearly 50 meters. He was killed at the scene.
What you mean "attempted" ?!? He obviously succeeded...
Officers seized 200 methamphetamine pills and four grams of crystallized methamphetamine.
These guys are just little fish, only 200 pills and 4 grams. Why don't they get their supplier???
Maybe because higher in the chain they are better 'protected'...
RIP for the brave police officer!

So, better be careful what you say

Great Britain now the most popular for Thai Brides
Tuesday 29th March 2011 8:01pm
It has emerged that the United Kingdom is the No.1 choice for Thai women who continue to marry UK men in increasing numbers.
Figures released by the Thai government for the Bangkok area in 2010 show that there were nearly three times as many marriages between Thai women and UK nationals than the nearest country which turned out to be the USA.
This comes as the growing numbers of Thai brides traveling to Britain is beginning to produce a reaction which is has both positive and negative implications for the future of the trend. The old concept of Thai mail bride has now being replaced by Thai women using the internet to open up the world and opportunities. In Britain, Thai women are increasingly being integrated into the UK community and countering the negative stereo types which are still very strong. More community groups are being set up by Thai women even in Scotland where there is now a growing Thai community in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Thai women are proving themselves here in the UK where, you have to say, British people have always been fair minded and willing to give a chance to those who work hard,' says Thanit Chomphra who is married to a building contactor in Manchester. In Manchester in 2010 a hit Theater production featured a Thai wife as the heroine in a comedy reminiscent of the British Carry on movies of the 1960's and 70's. the show, aptly titled Thai Brides and Tea Cakes.
The boom in UK men seeking Thai Brides means that there are now as many as 100 couples each week get married either in Thailand or the UK. The United Kingdom's embassy in Bangkok is one of the busiest in the world handling over 700,000 visits every year. It ha also emerged that the extent of the phenomenon of UK men who opt to marry a Thai bride or seek a Thai life partner is increasing, with many men from the United Kingdom now opting to live in Thailand. The other emerging trend is that younger UK men have Thai girlfriends on a long term basis. One UK mother recently expressed concern that her 25 year old son, an internet executive with a stable job in the United Kingdom, had brought his Thai girlfriend from Pattaya home for the second time and as planning to settle down with her.
I guess it just confirms that women the world over prefer British men. And who can blame them!
Is that because they are so successful at marriage?
No, it is because British men are stupid enough to believe what the Thai women tell them

As a farang do NOT stop at any accident site, but proceed with care. IF you stop, you might be blamed for the accident, even if you have nothing to do with it (own experience...) That is also why I will not help any Thai people involved in an accident anymore. There is NO "good Samaritan" rule in Thailand, unfortunately!
As farang you are always guilty, even if you are not (especially in traffic accidents)
Drive safely and watch everything (360 degrees)
