my overflow drain does not have a valve. its not intended to put the water back into the system, only get it out of the system when there is too much water (rain etc). But it sounds like you have a different system. I am not sure i understand it. I hope someone with more experience here can help you.

I have a skimmer pool (not overflow). But i still have a small overflow drain that takes water out of the system when the water level is above a certain level. I also have an automatic inlet that puts water from outside the system into the pool when the water level goes below a certain level. These things are there to reduce your work, and to make sure the water level of the pool is correct. These things have little to do with filtering and cleaning.
if you learn how to clean it and get a good pool, its not a lot of maintenance, IMO. of course if you get a problem like algae, you must work hard for some time. but these problems are avoidable. I went from complete novice to being able to manage an swg pool in a few months, by the way of reading this forum and forums like troublefreepool.com.

I am new to gps. I have a laptop that i want to connect a gps to. The pc has bluetooth. Is the Holux a good choice for this?
I have read that many prefer garmin. do they make bluetooth gps that can be used on a laptop?

why several here say its never worth buying a toyota second hand? we bought a corolla altis 05 for less than 400k. we thought that was great, but maybe not? it was in prime condition, we had it checked. had it 1y now, been working great.

yes, i agree. i payed 300 myself for a guy that could do masonry etc. right now we have a gardener that we pay 200 for. so i guess thats the ballpark.

eddy,
how much work is this for your 9k baht? for example, if one pays 200 baht pr worker, 600 baht for one day, its 15 days. is this about correct, or is your calculation different?
i am about to build a porch too, i will let you guys know when i have more details.

the software version is 1.9. 27.06.2009, thats what PLi jade says when i press 4 for information. is this the latest version?
satthai sent me a huge multiswitch, its a star 9x12 cascade multiswitch. there are 4x4 inputs for satellites. every input set has 4 connections labeled as follows: high(h), high(v), low (h) and low (v). and then there are 2x6 outputs for receivers. these outputs have no labels except 1-12
is this box useful for me? i am only using one receiver now, the dreambox. later i might add another box for the bedroom.
-
and we have a picture! its really messed up though, only around 10 channels and they are around channel number 660 and bad picture quality. i think the shop guys did some configuring of the pli. at least we got a lock on the satellite.
-
got the dreambox today, with the new dish and a box to connect many dishes. right now we are just trying to look at the pli jade 3 image and navigate the menus a bit. only one dish connected now. its on cband, thaicom 5. i know its working because the old box got the channels. so, its just a matter of configuring the dreambox correctly. this might take some time though because there are a lot of settings.

ok, good luck! it will be interesting to hear if you are happy after some time, plase report back .

HI
Bread made in a breadmaker 4000 Baht works nearly every day, great bread
which breadmaker is this? where did u buy it?
-
i am also considering buying a bread machine. is there a machine that the user is happy with, or are they all crap?

Today the local company realigned the dish to 78,5e. picture is ok, but not as good as asiasat 3. channels are ok, my wife is very happy because there are tons of thai language stuff. as for me, i can think about svt world when i get the dreambox. my current box cant read cards, virtual or real.
i am reading tons of forums. i am surprised i didnt know about this world of information before this. very interesting to read. here are some of the most interesting ones:
and two guides:
-
i am using win 7, 64bit. definately not slower than 32bit. i was expecting a lot of compatibility trouble, but i havent had any yet.
-
ok, we have decided to get the dreambox 500, and one more dish to watch the intelsat 10 with multichoice/DSTV. we will also order a diseqc box to connect the dishes. This means we will have one dish on the thaicom 5, and one on intelsat 10. that is enough for now.
-
today i have looked at a bunch of websites, learned about cccam on cccamforum.com, learned about what does what (the dish, the LNB etc). i dont know if cccam has other functions than cardsharing. the interesting thing is that the winsat topboxes allow access to the cccam from the menu. i dont know if you guys like these boxes or not.
when i read about the pli jade 3, my first question is...there are 20-30 satellites available to view from here in thailand. What are the most interesting ones? I must have one fixed dish on the thaicom 5. i can easily add 2-3 more dishes. My interests are movies, sports (also american sports), and my main languages are english and norwegian (i can watch french channels, but these channels are not understood by the rest of the household). so, based on this info, what satellites would you get access to?
EDIT: the intelsat 8 looks like a good choice. it has cnn, discovery, australia network, etc.

we just talked with satthai, and they can preinstall the dm800 with the latest pli jade 3, so that seems good. i havent decided yet though, if we should get the dm500 or the dm800. it does sound appealing to get hd. but if there is little broadcasting, its no point obviously. are there other important differences?
thunder: yes, i see your point. i might just ask a question or two anyway though, but i promise to read also .
-
i looked at the dm800 a bit more, looks really nice. I will ask to get it preinstalled. but if i dont get it preinstalled, i think i can do it myself. i have looked at the pli-images.org and it looks manageble (with some help on their forums). i guess jon is one of the masterminds of this thing, very impressive!

thanks a lot monty!
i can find plenty of forums, i just dont know which one is best for thailand.
thanks for the info about eldsat. what i like about them is that they provide preinstalled dreamboxes. does another online shop have this? PM me please, if you dont want to post it here.
I have one question about the more expensive dreamboxes: they have DVI output but not HDMI. why is this?
