Hi,
i want to use unpolished granite blocks to form a border around the flowerbeds in the garden. the suppliers i have talked to so far asks 150-300 baht per block. Does anyone know a supplier that is cheaper?

Just got back from the local Isuzu dealer. He told me the new mu-7 model will come next year. He also said it will look like the d-max v cross inside.

Very nice, Frank!

Congratulations to all Norwegians living in Thailand, and especially central Thailand. Sometimes we go to Bangkok with the kids to celebrate with the embassy, but not every year. If you are a Norwegian and living in central Thailand, feel free to write in this thread, maybe we can have a local small celebration next year!

just for your info, its possible to buy truevision real boxes from some tv/cable shops, and get cards from truevision stores. this is what i do. i dont really like it cause i cant use pvr, but i didnt know that when i bought it. however, its very useful if you want to drop the subscription for a while.

seems to me you only got warned if you hire a box (i bought one). anyway, if golf channel will be hd, that would be awesome! its the channel i watch the most.

everything is working again here now, except golf channel, 156.

my box is just 6 months old.

same problem here, and i am in phetchabun.

I would consider something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-419-Headphones-Black/dp/B005SNPTS2/ref=pd_sim_e_8.
quite cheap. but should still be ok.

first find out if you want open or closed headphones. open gives the best sound, but is not good in noisy areas. i have sennheizer, but they are open. i have not tried the closed sennheizer.
as for noise cancellation, the only i know of is bose. my brother has those, and he loves em.

customs really depends on the size and value of the package. i have ordered more than 10 packages, and paid from 1000 to 4000 baht in customs. my advice is to order as many clubs at the same time as possible. you might pay more in customs, but less for shipping. best overall cost. everything is delivered to your door. some might call you before they come, so be prepared that you might need a thai speaker.

I have bought a lot of golf equipment from globalgolf, golfworks and other very reputable sites in the US. Especially buying second hand clubs from globalgolf can save you a lot of money, and its perfectly safe and fast.

there are a bunch of restaurants around the market, especially around the canal. i think its called nam yao, but im not sure. anyway, in thai nam yao means just long water, so if you ask for nam yao with all the restaurants someone should be able to tell you where it is. this area is just 5min drive from kosit.

i have only been at the amarin meeting on the 3rd wed of the month. this meeting has many english-speaking farangs. last time i was there was nov or dec.
that friday meeting sounds interesting, maybe i will go check it out.
-
i would suggest using the farang lunch you mention as a starting point. its nice and informal and you meet many who might be interested.

Would this be the correct way to get a legal job as a English teacher? I have a non-immigrant marriage visa:
Get a contract stating you are/will be a guest lecturer (lets say 10h per week).
Send this to the ministry of labor together with visa. Do they need anything else?
This would just be a temporary solution for me as i wait/study for my TCT license.

close to me (chondaen), you can get some land at 50-100k per rai, but its a bit from the main road.

Hi,
Im taking the teacher license test in khon khaen in May. Im looking for advice from someone who has taken this test within the last few years, preferably in a few conversations on skype. Im willing to pay for the coaching. I have all the books that should cover the tests, and have read some already. I have solid social science eduaction from farang countries, so i think i have the foundation necessary. However, i want advice on what books to focus on, test format, level of knowledge needed in the different subjects etc.
Thanks, Chris

I went to all star twice in the last month. We had fittings at the ping shop and one coaching lesson with greg hanrahan. The range is very good, with great shops. but there are no repair shops and no shops to buy lead tape, spare parts, shafts etc. The fitting we had was good, but not excellent. the guys in the shop went from customer to customer before finishing properly with each one. I would def recommend having quite a bit of knowledge before you get a fitting there. if not you wont be able to ask the correct questions and get the correct set for your game.
The coaching with greg was awesome. He was very helpful and really has genuine insight in the game. i think he could pretty much help any player at any level.

For sure, Greg. Lets meet and swing .
Btw, i was with my mom for a fitting at all star at the ping shop last week. it was a good fitting, but not great. the guy started another fitting without being finished with us, but whatever. we ended up w/ a set of ping serene for mom.
as for me, im around 16 hp now. i started working w/ a guy who wanted me to swing in a very elaborate manner that i had trouble with (swinging back with the head and full weight shift to the right on the backswing). now im using a simpler approach which is somewhat inspired by stack and tilt. how do you like that?
Info wanted, golf in Chiang Mai
