Rachel Reeves: Quit Now the Tipping Point for Britain’s Economy is Here
connda replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Keep the Marxist ideology alive and Britain will goes right down the loo with all the other progressive left, Neo-authoritarian basket cases like Germany, France, and most of the EU, all claiming to be economically vibrant "Democracies" as their economies hit the skids and the natives get restless and start demanding fiscal and social conservatism to return. Of course, it's all "Putin's fault" naturally. -

Trending:The world is waking up to the Woke Progressives
connda replied to riclag's topic in Political Soapbox
Wait until Western liberal leaders begin to annul the results of elections claiming <Russian, Musk, China, TikTok, enter_some_excuse_here> interference like they did in Romania, or use NGOs to stoke street violence to overthrow the elected government like they are attempting to do in Georgia (the country). Then look out as the silent majority wakes up. -
Has Elon Musk become an existential threat to humanity?

Yep - He looks like a business failure to me. -
Trump’s Inauguration: A Gathering of Global Far-Right Leaders

Trump’s Inauguration: A Gathering of Global Far-Right Leaders
connda replied to Social Media's topic in World News
So says the Far-Left Politico. I guess if the libels can frame all conservatives as "far-right" then we conservatives can frame all liberals as "far-left." Dear Far-Lefties, Read 'em and weep. The general public in your respective countries have had enough of your progressive, so-called "liberal democracy" which looks more like national socialist and Marxist "democratic" authoritarianism, and the majority are about to kick you all out via the ballot box. However, we fully expect that you'll all blame Russia for your losses, and then annul the elections and claim yourselves as victors! We expect nothing less of you. -
Has Elon Musk become an existential threat to humanity?
connda replied to RSD1's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Has Elon Musk become an existential threat to humanity? No. Harris is just another Leftie who hates to see the end of the liberal status-quo. And like all Lefties who hates to see the end of the liberal status-quo, it's The End Of The World As We Know It. -
Time magazine publishes 11 thing for the Trump adverse to do on Inauguration Day. https://time.com/7207613/trump-inauguration-day-mental-health-activities/?linkId=717442615 My favorite: "Cry with a friend It might seem counterintuitive, but if you need to shed a few tears on Inauguration Day, it’s healthy to let them out with one caveat: You shouldn’t do it alone. “The grace and speed with which somebody recovers from grief if they have an opportunity to cry with the support of another person—someone who they trust and who they believe cares about them—is orders of magnitude improved,” Simon-Thomas says." Now the poor creatures, like my own West Coast progressive liberal sister, will don their masks and suffer in angst-driven horror at all things "Trump" for the next four years. "ARRRRGGGHHHHHH."

Under Consideration - 2 months
connda replied to connda's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I came here on a business visa. The paperwork for that was a PITA. I've been doing marriage extensions since 2011. Some people may consider it a hassle but I pretty much have it down to an art. A couple of hours of time the day prior to pull the paperwork together and a run to the bank the day of (ya'll do that on a retirement extension too), and I only need three months of statements, and I have no other holds on my bank funds unlike retirees. Make an appointment and Somchai's Your Uncle. Usually in and out in an hour. And up to now, come back in 30 days to collect my stamp. This time around, come back in 60 days to collect the stamp. Just wondering if anyone else had experienced this too. That's the only question I had. -

Like I said, the return date is a full two months from the date of extension. I asked but didn't get an answer. This is no big deal other I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen too. Or maybe BKK immigration was getting backlogged and is pushing out "under consideration" periods. That crossed my mind which is why I'm asking. -

Fed up! Indian Tourists Caught Urinating at Pattaya Beach, Sparking Outrage
connda replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
I see Thai guys urinating along side the road all of the time. No difference other than Thai social media outrage at "kon keark." Thais don't like folks from India or the Middle East. If it was "kon Thai" then nobody would care. -
".... think this all goes away"? <laughs> Nothing has changed other than 1) closing a loophole for the time periods for remittances that is aimed more at Thai citizens than anyone else, and 2) people like yourself who are freaking out because some savvy tax consultants stoked the fires of fear in the expat community with ฿฿฿฿฿฿ THB-signs in their eyes. "Clearance Certificate part of the documents required at extension time..." 😱 Eek! OMG! Good lord...I'll worry about it IF it happens. And then I won't worry about it. My country's DTA drops me below any tax threshold. But hey! Feel free to shake in you boots flip-flops. Or maybe your a wearer of Berluti or Christian Louboutin luxury shoes, in which case, maybe you have something to worry about tax-wise. In that case? Pay up rich man!

Interesting that my "Under Consideration" period this marriage extension is two months. Any other of you married dudes out there ever have this happen? Just curious.

Who needs to 'jack it' if you live in Thailand? Just ban condoms. -

I doubt it will be an "existential threat to civilization." It will eventually self-correct, although it may be an existential threat to what will become minority Anglo and Asian populations. Well, unless the more authoritarian regimes issue "'Boom-boom' or else" laws. -

That's Ok. Africa and the Middle East will make up the deficit. -

That's ok - Myanmar migrants will make up the difference, especially with Thailand's "anchor baby" laws that apply to these migrants. It's funny. After all of these centuries of fighting between Myanmar and Thailand - Myanmar will eventually win. -
Biden's Final Farewell: A Stark Warning for America

Good riddance and don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out. Now - fade into obscurity. -
"Taxing foreigners" who don't owe Thailand any money accomplishes two things: The expense Thailand incurs when, 1) they have to fund a new bureaucracy to seek, find, and force the foreigners who don't owe them money to file tax returns, and 2) when the find them and force them to file tax returns, the foreigner will simple collect all the withholding taxes Thailand has collected over the years on their Thai bank deposits. Trust me - if Thailand goes that route, it will be an "own goal." And it will cost them more money than they make in return.
