  1. This comment is itself a trifle demented. I was under the impression that Trump, far from being "self-appointed", had been elected by over70 million people.....
  2. Apparently not. The "sharp-as-a-tack" Biden was allowed to stumble around Air Force One now and again, so, yes, I guess it's perfectly ok to suffer from dementia and have a low IQ while also being president (though, to be fair to all Democrat voters, this obvious truth was concealed from them by the willing co-operation of the MSM in never mentioning it for four years).
  3. The suggestion by these representatives of the Thai ruling class to buy US military technology is, for them, perfectly logical: the cost of the products will not affect their bottom line at all. No, the cost will be borne entirely by the taxpayers. Smart. All's Well that Ends Well.
  4. It seems evident that Trump wants to devalue the dollar so that American exports to the rest of the world will become highly favoured and therefore will help to bring down the horrendous mountain of American debt. You can also expect him to urge Jay Powell & co. to lower US interest rates so as to weaken the dollar even further. (If there is a resultant recession, the Fed will lower rates to try and...er....fix it.
  5. Private Eye used to launch squibs at Al Fayed, but refrained from entering the harassment area because of the legal fees that would have bankrupted the Eye. Instead they would frequently mock Fayed's frustration at not being offered a knighthood. Clearly the Royals wanted nothing to do with this Middle-Eastern interloper. The nearest Fayed got to the Royal Family was when his son took up with Princess Diana. At which point Karma intervened....
  6. Just watched episode 7 of the current White Lotus. Whereas the first two seasons were witty and well acted, this, I thought, was utter garbage. Reminded me of those afternoon soap-operas my second ex-wife used to watch, where scene switched to scene monotonously following the latest "development" in someone's "relationship". The only characters who held my interest slightly were the three cougars who had a sexual itch without quite being able to admit it. But perhaps it was their tits (on plentiful show) that made me hesitate to call it quits..
  7. Good for a laugh, I suppose, but really, what are these "interests" that the UK, no longer an imperial power, has to "defend at a moment's notice". This character is as much a buffoon in this job as one of his predecessors, the one with a mop of blond hair.
  8. No, it will require a "crackdown" on earthquakes....
  9. That would have been really hard as I don't have a brother. I did project brotherly feelings on my male cousins which was weird for them as they all had actual brothers. I miss not having a brother and I don't mean for the "incest" part. A most unfortunate sentence there. Or just a Freudian slip?
  10. Yes, if the GOP are led by a person of great intelligence and common sense.
  11. Madame: I was attempting (obviously without success) to be slightly ironic in tone, because "$hithole" is the word Trump used in 2016 to describe these people who think they have the right to enter other countries illegally. A quite apposite word, I think. But also the article contains the phrase "self-deport" which does seem to me hilarious. Can you imagine some poor schmuck toddling off to the local immigration office and saying, "good morning, sir, I'd like to self-deport, if it's ok with you." One further point: most of us on this thread have probably entered Thailand legally and gone through all the necessary legal crapology to both enter and remain in the country. Why should illegals be treated with courtesy when they don't make this minimum legal effort required by most (all?) countries worldwide?
  12. As long as they do actually "self-deport" back to whatever "$hithole" country they came from...
  13. Good to see Diane Abbott adding her customary intellectual depth to the debate....
  14. "childish babies" is an excellent example of a tautology....
  15. So much for the "coalition of the willing"!!! Also, a reminder of why the UK needed to brexit...
  16. I've noticed that many American hospital websites insert the phrase "sex assigned at birth". Who are the woke administrators who meekly toe this ideological line..... But Trump's male/female declaration on this issue should eradicate this travesty of science.
  17. Excellent news. Sue them till the pips squeak....
  18. Tough vetting by sleepy joe Biden??? or by his Border Czar, the thicko who lost the election for the Democrats!! 10 million illegals! All toughly "vetted"!!!
  19. Their envelopes were not fat enough.....
  20. That was Spike Milligan's joke epitaph. Own up...
  21. Do rocks swim? Something to do with being down under?
  22. I wonder what "proper officiating" is. Being a referee, especially in all the leagues below a country's top one, is no picnic. Referees are as fallible as everyone else, and their "officiating" may be badly affected by something as trivial as an argument with the missis as he left for the game....
