  1. This makes sense, after all we just heard last week that an emergency decree was to be used to complete PTP's number one mission. Amnesty is only relevant for the general protesters which as we know comes secondary to his masters wants.

It wouldn't surprise me if this was PT's plan. It's all about Thaksin and he wants to come home. Hell with the menial red-shirt amnesty as this will just bog down Thaksin's plans for his grand return. He just can't wait.

  2. Send money for her or her family to get a lawyer. whistling.gif

Most lawyers that I have dealt with do not charge more for falongs IMHO. Good point above, if you are concerned about the possibility of getting ripped off, then give the money to the family to deal with the lawyer. Frankly though, I would trust the lawyer more than some Thai families I know.

  3. Pheu Thai and Yingluck have really stepped in it. The world is watching closely as to how the gov't will handle this fiasco. Rice use to be Thailand's number one export, until now with the Phillipines and Vietnam picking up the slack in supplying the world its rice, while Thailand drops down the ladder of rice exporters. Blame can only be put on Yingluck and Pheu Thai. Another news article from Indonesia explains it better. http://m.thejakartapost.com/news/2013/07/18/rice-safety-fears-thailand.html

  4. Chelsea F.C. surely have an FB page or similar so they can be informed of this disgraceful behavior.

Chelsea FC won't give a monkey's about this issue.

Only in soccer is the practice of having kids walk out with the players condoned. Rather childish for a silly game.

its called football.atleast get it right, better than rounders,,?coffee1.gif.pagespeed.ce.Ymlsr09gMJ.gif

    From the Oxford Dictionary:

    soccer

    Pronunciation: /ˈsɒkə/

    [mass noun]

a form of football played by two teams of eleven players with a round ball which may not be handled during play except by the goalkeepers. Also called football and Association football.

The object of the game is to score goals, by kicking or heading the ball into the opponents' goal. The game originated in England, and is played according to rules established by the Football Association, which has organized the major English knockout competition, the FA Cup, since 1872. The international game is administered by the International Football Federation (FIFA), which is responsible for the World Cup

  5. Pheu Thai confident that Rice Pledging Scheme has improved farmers' quality of life

Mr. Prompong claimed that such an accusation is merely an attempt to attack the government's policy, adding that it could have, if not already, ruined the kingdom's image. He then urged related agencies to punish the ill-intent wrongdoers in the case..

This goes beyond Human intelligence, arrogance, IGNORANCE, INSOLENCE AND ALL BACKSTABBING procedures of INSULTING HUMAN INTELLIGENCE of today's economy...

    Oh happy day...

Goes beyond Human intelligence to Human Rights.

  6. it already has dampened the possibilities of Thaksin coming home in foreseeable future, according to Pheu Thai ("For Thais") MP Cherdchai Tantisirin.

He can come home any time he likes....

Yingluck said, adding that everything in Thailand nowadays seems to be turned into a political issue one way or another.

My dear Yingluck in case you hadnt realised yet but the postion of PM is political in nature...didnt your bro tell you this when he give you the job ?

mocrat crooks that are bittere that all they managed to whith all their so called political drivel was to deprive

Yes of course he can come home anytime. But to what? In such an event as his return the the Social Democrats, so far only suceeding in relieving him (fraudulently) of 47 Billion Baht, will first seek to humiliate him further, then a hit squad no doubt be funded by a Democrat who is already a murderer and is corrupt, would blow him away immedieatly Thaksin was released from jail.

One gets sick of all this Democrat drivel emerging from the mouths of greedy men that orchestrated corruption in Thailand for more than a quarter of a century. Yes they can talk of corruption because they nursed such an exquisitly opaque system of corrupt practice. Sickenly their criminalty sought to extract the greatest extent of Thailand's wealth from the oppressed Thai people during all of that quarter centuary.

One more time I'll say it; no one has ever publish statement or document that indicate to me that Thakin is or was ever corrupt. This statemnet means just what it says, it does not say That Thakisin not corrupt, just that no evidense of his alledged corrution exists.

Some help me, a simple and elderlty foreigner, and produce then I won't have to continue reading all this drivel that does not more that to discredit the authors of it.

If it was only the corruption charges then he would probably still have been PM, and just ripping the coffers of trillions. What you are excusing him off is putting himself above the law. That is what the real charges are and it ain't from the Democrats that you seem confused over but the peoples court to whom he currently still owes two years. And when he gets back he also will have treason charges to face for his attack on Bangkok again from the peoples court. I would rather be in Khun Abhisit's shoes any day. This government is a farce and a joke to Thailand along with the joke that is the puppet PM...shhhh and walk away. The longer the Thai people carry on with this farce the larger the joke they are becoming on the world stage....Democracy is being run by a peoples court convicted criminal from Dubai? The next few months in Thai politics are going to be very interesting. Especially with the tabling of bills from Pheau Thai. I think with polls turning against them there will a lot more street protests that could become violent.

    Great post!

  7. Snakes in Thailand, generally will try to get away from you. If they see you, they run.

Rattlesnakes and water moccasins from the U.S. will generally stand their ground, making them more dangerous as they seem not to be afraid of humans.

So here on my land in Ubon, the snakes I see don't hang around long after I see them. It's only when I corner them, that I can kill them. Most get away.

I also hate snakes, but feel more comfortable being around Thai snakes as they will try to avoid you.

  8. Why should he resign? Most of the cabinet went to Hong Kong to be instructed by their leader. None of them offered. Everyone knows who runs the country.

I guess the sinister bit here is the talk of issuing an executive decree to pardon the leader of all crimes and allegations so he can return and take the helm. Explains putting the puppet into the DM role. He must be hoping little sis and this guy can control and influence enough senior military officers not to oppose the executive decree. He must think they already have enough in their pocket to take a gamble like this. Or maybe he's getting desperate with all the scams and lies being found out now.

Right on. Thaksin knows this is probably his last and only push to come home a free man before the government collapses from all the mismanagement and fraud. Oh how I bet he would love to have a grand homecoming for his July 26 birthday.

  9. Why not go home and have the procedure done?

My wife had a very bad experience with an dental implant procedure with a licensed Thai dentist here in Ubon. My wife is Thai, but is use to American dentist who are sensitive to patient's pain needs. Her experience here is beyond words. The dentist continued drilling after the Novocain wore off. She was a basket case for weeks after the procedure. The dentist only gave her over the counter Tylenol for pain relief, when she should have been prescribed a codeine based pain relief.

My wife now refuses to see a local Thai doctor and said she will go back to America if any future dental work is needed. Me too.

Dentists in Thailand are not licensed to dispense codeine or other narcotics I was told by a former dentist of mine.

Oh my! If true, then everyone should be aware of this. Thailand dentistry is still in the dark ages. While waiting for my wife's implant to be done, I noticed several Thais come in with toothaches and request to have the teeth removed instead of restored. Sad, but Thailand has a long way to go with healthcare.

  11. I expect that this will actually boost the PM's support. Voters who are in the middle will sympathize with the PM. The perception will be furthered that the PM is working in the interests of Thailand and not one particular interest group if that interest group complains. The statements from the UDD are just words. It acts to show that the UDD is tough and is sticking to its 'principles', even though the reality is that the UDD knows that if it turns on the PM it will be sent back into the wilderness. Methinks this is all for show.

Who is Pheu Thai without the Redshirts?

  12. Not really sure I understand what type A/C you are talking about.

Seems the only one's I see here in Thailand are the Japanese engineered units that attach to your wall with the compressor outside.

I have 4 individual units in my home. One unit is over 10 years old. All have worked perfectly, even after a year or more sitting idle with power off in my home while away from Thailand.

These units are very reliable. Suggest you fore go the warranty and have someone else look at it. Good luck.

  13. Wonder if they had Thaksin in mind.

I think you have just set a new TV record. On a topic that has absolutely nothing to do with him you have managed to mention Thaksin in the first post. Usually takes 5 or 6 posts before he gets spammed.

So, who else in Thailand would benefit from Skype? Is this a serious discussion or am I missing something?

  14. There is a office on Larchmont street across for the LA Thai Consulate that helped me with my O visa. You can PM me for their name and phone number. My wife and I used their services because we were totally lost on how and what type of visa I needed. It cost, but it was well worth it for us.

Also, there is the requirement to check in with your local Thai Immigration office every 90 days, so it is pretty important to have a permanent address if you go for the O visa from LA. Sounds like a tourist visa might be you best bet until you can decide where you want to live. Good luck and have a great retirement.

I assume you mean an O-A visa.

Strange, but my Thai visa just says "O". Issued in LA.
