  1. I bought an LED smart TV to replace my old Plasma and my electric bill went down about 2000 Baht a month. My wife watches a lot of TV so you probably won't get the same savings. My 55 inch LED uses 124 watts and my 50 inch Plasma uses 450 watts. Go with the LED

If your tv would be on 24/7 it would make a a difference of 234 Kwh a month which would mean a saving of about 900 Baht .

Maybe the other Bt.1100 is the saving from the AC not being used as much. my plasma belts out an amazing amount of heat.

  2. I am looking for both USD and Baht accounts. Automatic conversion of USD into Baht isn't the best option. I would like to have a choice when to convert.

Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

Kasikorn you have to go into the branch you opened the account at to withdraw or convert. If you want to move money from your K-Bank USD account to your K-Bank BAHT account it has to be done manually.

  3. Some say it s to keep the Car Cool, then they buy a Heat Sucking Black Ride. Ive found the Air Con keeps it rather Cool.

Yeah a black car may get hotter quicker on the inside but after awhile the white car will catch up and they both will be the same temperature.

  4. I have been using SCB Bank for several years. I get a monthly pension deposited into my bank in the U S each month then transfer to my SCB account here. The transfer comes in as Bhat and not Dollars. Have never had a problem as they know me at my local bank. But have had dealings at many other offices and no problem. I even used the office in Vientiane and they were very helpful even though they technically aren't the same bank. I also have online banking

Well thats not a USD account now is it. If we want to talk about every day Baht account's Kasikorn is brilliant both here in Thailand and have never had an issue abroad using my atm cards. internet banking is on par with any western bank I have used in the past as well.

  5. + AC gaskets + Inlet Gaskets + Flywheel Bolts + Spigot Bearing + broken damaged coolant hoses + damaged intercooler hoses + Broken Diesel Pump + Other assorted bolts.

Anywho it is all here now and engine being lifted in this afternoon and should be running soon provided nothing else was damaged by the incompetant morons who pulled it apart.

Fingers crossed the injectors that were found laying in the pickup tub in a puddle of slop that was combined of dirt/oil/coolant are ok. god only knows how long they would take to arrive let along their expense (I heard they are Bt,16,000 ea).

also need to find a fuse box mount as mine is missing, why the fuse box was pulled I have no idea.

  6. Ha, ha…done with her…yesterday's news. Out of all the Thai girls I've dated, the ones that I get along with best and are still friends are the girls who have lived outside of Thailand. Not sure why but they are less sensitive about small issues and have a more balanced perspective of just how small a part Thailand plays in the world.

Current girlfriend works here but lived in in a Western country for a while. She can laugh at all the shit that goes on here, loves the nightlife and most important, is a squirter.smile.png What is she doing with short, bald 42 year old? Who knows but maybe opposites attract. And she never asks me for money for anything so its certainly not about that.

You sound like a retard. A 43 year old short bald retard at that.

Expect that would be un pc, right?

..and anyway, that would give retards a bad name.

Even a retard would not get the age wrong.....just sayin'.

Sent from my HTC One using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

You do realise there is import duties and taxes attached to it don't you ?

  8. I don't know so much about stereotypes abroad, but:

Thai girl in an eco car = upwardly mobile

Foreigner in an eco car = almost broke English teacher

Thai on a motorsai = cheap labour

Foreigner on a motorsai = either a Tourist (check clothing and facial expression), or genuinely broke.

Young Thai man in a PPV = Sister married to a Foreigner, or engages in shady business

Young Thai man in any car worth > 2M Baht = Daddy's favorite

Young Thai woman in any car worth > 2M Baht = Mia Noi, or Mia Farang

    tongue.png

what is a Mia Farang ?

  9. There's a fire hazard in the shede ^

This is the thread I was looking for to post my shed in.... shed

  11. I started a new shed project yesterday. A new work bench.

    006_zpse3c80129.jpg.

Go buy some more wood today for the top, shelf and back splash and she will be ready for some stain.

Slow progress I guess but now has a 30mm MDF top with 3mm steel for me to bash my stuff on.

    002_zps7224dc27.jpg

Finished and in it's final position.

  12. I have a great suggestion.......LOOK at the owners manual of the truck/////now that's a great idea ....now sit in the drivers seat look to the left on the dask board and you will see a small " glovebox " now in there there maybe a book a paper thing with pages in it.....there's a good start

    Whats a "dask board" ?

A good start to offering a smart ass reply would be to check your spelling.

  13. That's the kind of input I was looking for. I guess the Fortuner cab must be several hundred k heavier than the Vigo's then. I'll just have to be the hick farmer around Bangers then smile.png. Dunno about the nature of the shocks Transam

I reckon it is more to do with the coil spring rear in the Tuna vs the leaf springs in the Vigo. But yes the Tuner body weighs more. I think there is about a 300kg difference in kerb weight between the 2.

  14. None of you can call yourselves true alchies if you find these 'dry' spells a problem. Firstly, you should always have a back-up supply prepared, failing that, prepare to stock up before such an event. Failing that, just buy it from the mom and pop store.

    I'm not having any problem.

    Cheers!!

    wink.pngsmile.png

    What dry spells ?

I just got home from shopping to stock up on steak and snags for the barbie this arvo and grabbed 2 slab's of piss from the mom and pop store.

  15. Why does Nissan never get a mention here.?. Are they a Prob, the Traders up here like the 2door very much.Or is it they are not Blingy enough for some.

I used to have one, but sold it as soon as could. Ride quality was far, far less than Isuzu's I previously owned and Mazda I have now, service level was abominal (even Transam's buddy KBB once said that the Nissan dealer here on Phuket must be the worst dealer he has ever seen) and all in all I never really liked the car.

Sold it on within the year, which was a very good decision, after I made the worst in my car buying life to buy it.

Thats why doing your homework (reading here also) might have saved you hassle eh..................smile.png

Shoulda bought the Toyota. It is the best.

  16. @steveni,

So you don't like me forwarding information here which IS on topic, GM. ?

What has Toyota got to do with this topic ?

Yes I have a Toyota truck and we discuss different trucks on different threads, what has that got to do with this topic ?

    facepalm.gif

Yeah and on those different truck thread you do like to hang a lot of shit on trucks that are not Toyota.

Because I read a lot, I take in stuff, I also try and remember truck faults for future chats here thumbsup.gif . If I think Toyota trucks are more reliable and have superior build quality, then I will say that in the appropriate threads, not this one.

I did not start a topic about GM's 3,000,000 problems, it was in my head and thought appropriate for the OP to read. Nothing to do with Toyota is it.rolleyes.gif

You have never said anything good about a non toyota pickup, it gets very tedious after a while.
