  1. So will this Indonesia visa allow me to live in Thailand ?

No but you can visit as often as you want, and not have Indonesian immigration burn up the pages in your passport with ridiculous re-entry permits and charge you 1000THB every time you want to leave the country...

Really is Thailand like that for you ?. my multi re-entry stamp takes up very little real estate in my passport and allows me to come and go as I please.

What is this 1000b charge you are talking about ?

  2. If a person wants to stay here, then they should use any means they like as long as it hurts no one and good luck to them.

It has absolutely nothing to do with anyone else.

My guess is that most people who object to the ed visa thing, are probably on 15/30 day runs and couldn't afford the fee required.

I think about folk who come here to work, lose their job and are given 7 days to bugger off..................But wait.............noooooooooo, they can give a bloke 500 quid for an ED visa whilst they look for another job..........Instead of given the opportunity to sort stuff out.

I think the 7 days thing is for BOI companies, non Boi and you have 24 hours to get out (or get a 7 day extension from immigration).

Yeah I don't think the DLT cares. when the engine for my Ranger was delivered with no engine number they told me to stamp the number from the old engine into the new one.

Interesting to know and I have to keep reminding myself, don't (in this case) think like a grand inquisitor vehicles inspector in my home country. smile.png

Yeah I chose no to though as I did not want a dodgy stamped engine in my car as I was concerned it would raise questions when selling it.

  4. Every 3 months I drive to Cambodia for my visa run.

On this journey I nearly always encounter a convoy of 2 or 3 "visa-run" mini-vans.

Suddenly, out of the blue, I have the lead mini-van 1 metre from my rear at maybe 80-90-100-110-120 kph.

At a suitable moment for my plan I move over to allow the overtake. But, I will always "split the convoy" pulling out again after the 1st overtake.

Once I have split the convoy I ease very gradually off the power, allowing the the lead mini-van to pull away, leaving the mini-van behind me busting a gut to get past me.

    The fun starts.

Taking into consideration these irrational drivers will try the pass using any piece of the highway possible, I increase / decrease my speed according to the traffic in the centre / inside lane.

When an overtake can be done on my inside, I speed up. When there's traffic on my inside, I slow down gradually.

My wife is never happy with my games, but her comment when I'm "in-the-sandwich" is always "Happy Now !!", to which my reply is "Yessss".

    Footnote.

I am a very safe driver.

All risks are very carefully calculated.

Sooner or later you may well find yourself stuck with those crazy Van-drivers at a red light. They may want to move over to your car with the intention to discuss this mater with you in further detail.

Good to know, that you calculate "all risks carefully" beforehand.

    Cheers.

Swissie, been there done that and is the reason why I no longer carry a tommy axe in the car...... someone was gunna end up dead, most probably me. I prefer to taunt the <deleted> now when I know I won't be stopping anytime soon.

  5. Officially on tourist visa only temporary (1 year) license. or 5 year non-immigrant visa or extension is required.

Yep this officially is correct. have had a few mates on 5 yr licences but when up for renewal because they only had tourist visa's they went back onto 1 year licence.

  6. again for the umpteen time, you need a new cdi and or pickup. physical inspection means nothing. Or sell as is and get something else that works.

again for the umteenth time, I have changed the coils, not for new coils as they are not available, but coils already tested on another bike. There are two CDI's on this bike and they are not available here either. If you wish to spend a few thousand dollars on these coils and CDI's on the off chance that one will fix my bike, I will happy to except them.

Do you not understand this is not a Honda Wave 110, with stocks of cheap spares available everywhere, it a 30 year old bike, produced over a period of less than three years, in Japan, exclusively for the home market.

I am doing my best with what I can get hold of here in terms of spares and before I go to any more expense replacing parts, namely CDI's, I want to establish one thing. Is the fault electrical or petrol in origin? This, I hope, can be determined by the use of a digital tachometer.

If your attitude is to "throw in the towel" and sell something just because it can't be fixed immediately, I do not share that view. So please go an find another thread Paz and enjoy your CBR.

99% positive this is it sadly its not in the $1000s

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-VT500-CDI-131100-3552-/181333183874?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a384ccd82&vxp=mtr

Errrm a new CDI is $380 and a coil is $100. As the bike needs 2 of each the total is pretty damn close to $1000.00....ouch.

A lot of coin to spend not knowing if the actual fault lies in them.

  7. Bunch of crazy home handymen, DIYers, backyard mechanics - haven't you anything better to do with your time? And don't call me jealous, ok?

I only play with my toys after a solid 10 hour daily session with 15 ladies from soi 6.................. is that the answer you were looking for ?

  8. I am an architect. My in law father, a nice 85 Thai man with carpentry skills, owns a small and nice2 stories 100 sq.mt. house close to Phayao-Chiang Rai. He is a widow now, and wants to sell it to move with the older daughters. He is selling very cheap, for less than a million THB with a 500 sq.mt lot, and It is on a good location by the mountains. I do not need another home, and I am busy enough with my garden/outdoors projects, if not, I will buy it to remodel to a Thai-Western fusion home or...an artist studio?

    Ummmm.

Maybe try the classified section yeah.

  9. yeah we have already been through this best offers thing LennyW and at last count you alluded to its sale price at more than Eddie's immaculate restored K1 which is advertised at Bt.395,000.

Why don't you just name a price ?

Sent from my GT-N7100 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

you should link the source then.
