  1. yeah was just gunna piggy back some 1.5mm straight outta the fluro light into the fan (open it up and hard wire).

Distribution ....... errrrrmmmmmm it has a switch on the wall and I assume is attached to the fuse box in the house. nothing seems to be earth as am always getting a buzz when I touch things (the fookin piezo ignitors on the gas hob damn near puts me on the floor when it buzzes me....)

  2. Just a couple of things:

1/ Stainless steel checkerplate is heavier than steel checkerplate, when you can get it! I am thinking not in Pattaya though.

4/ If you definitely go aluminium....and you find a supplier. Please let me know. All the alloy places in Pattaya I found are shop window places with nothing I want!

Stainless checkerplate and steel checkerplate both weight 8.7kg/m2 x mm/thickness.

I can't help for Pattaya but Thyssenkrupp Thailand sell all 3 flavours of checkerplate (steel, stainless steel and alloy). they deliver to Laem Chabang so possibly you can buy from them "locally".

EDIT:..... ahhh missed Autherwait's post. handy to know (for me) of a local supplier for those "emergency" jobs that come through the workshop occasionally.

  3. As per thread title. Am upgrading my little workshop's lighting, going from a single ring fluro to a double 4 footer.

I would also like to wire a wall fan into the lighting circuit so that when I turn on the light the fan comes on.... and vice versa off when light is off as currently I have a desktop fan plugged to the power point but often when I lock up the shed I forget the fan and often I won't go back into shed till the following weekend.

So by doing this will I die a firey death ?

  4. Call Bubi at Thai Hot Rod (he is out on the 36) 0813403184, he will sandblast furniture.

    Hi Spoonman,

Have called Bubi, and he quotes between 1.500 and 2.000 Baht per chair. My wife nearly fainted.

Thanks anyway, and for others that might be interested a good tip.

    Yermanee wai.gif

you are already 1.5 days into sanding a single chair and it is still not done to a suitable level and by your own admission you cannot get into the nooks and crannies.

Spend the coin on getting it blasted or be happy with the <deleted> result from sanding.

    Up to you.

  5. I think tour friend was referring to this.

    Thank you very much,

it look there is all I may need to ask for the compensation if I finally do it.

Do you gave a Thai citizen card ?

Evidence to be used in Applying for Compensation Benefit

Application Form for Unemployment Benefit (SorPorSor. 2-01/7)

    The Citizenship Identity Card

One photograph of 1 in size

Employment Certificate or a copy of the resignation letter of the Insured (SorPorSor.609). In the event of unavailability of the Form SorPorSor. 6-09, application for registration of unemployment can also be made.

A letter or an order from the employer terminating the employment (if there is any).

A copy of the first page of the Bank Savings Account on which the Account Name and the Account Number belonging to the Insured are shown.

Yes I know what you mean, of course I dont have that card, but I was told by this Thai friend several times I could

get it because I got a social security number, and the goverment was getting their part from my salary.

    Good luck with that then.

I wish it was that easy that I can flash my SS number and proof of paying income taxes to get my Thai Citizenship.

  6. so... there is no foreigner in thaivisa.com that have ever get this government compensation?

  7. You can buy Nike stuff at the Nike Factory Shop in Muang Thong Thani.

you can buy Adidas stuff at the Adidas factory outlet at Muang Thong Thani.

where is that for god sake, I doubt they sell all the Jordan, Kobe stuff to locals, come on, I go to malls in BKK and I see only few items from each big brand, you never see Jordan stuff, even less Kobe....

You get like 2 shorts in Adidas store, that look horrible, did not see Nike shorts at all

So yes I have to buy in on Ebay USA and you never know if that stuff is fake or not or how old it is

I once bought nike pants and they send me different with tag that were 10 freaking years old, he stored that junk 10 years, of course I claimed my money back

so here I want to buy HQ nike stuff for the same price Americans are getting it, or maybe little less, is that such a horrible thing to think?

They can use poor thais and give them cheap wage, but the stuff is not for them?

I would start by looking at the Nike Factory Outlet shop.

  8. I see you have the same air compressor as I do!

The paint looks good It's a flat red with metallic black stripes?

Nah. flat cause I scrub with a brillo pad between paint coats. I bought the compressor to blows all the crud from my remote control Baja 5B after an outing. Is also good for blowing out crap in the carby and pumping up tyres...for the money it is an awesome compressor though.

For paint I just use rattle cans as for the little amount I do I cannot justify a spray gun and the rest of the stuff (Buying paint/thinners etc etc) that goes along with it.

I tossed on some clear and chucked it in the BBQ.

lots of fluro light make it look bright.

This is more how it looks.

Nice paint...I could never get a decent paint job out of a rattle can, always ends up all orange - peely. Maybe just too greedy with the coats I suppose. Looks as good as the black all the same. Talking about compressors though...I'm in the market for a decent quality heavy duty jobbie with +100 litre receiver, anyone any ideas for what to buy and/or where please?

    cheers

    Dod

That is what the BBQ is for. Lay on the paint and get it into the (warm) oven and the paint "flows" out smooth. fine line between too much paint (runs) and not enough (dry spots) though and has taken some practice to get a good result.

I bought my compressor from Thai Watsadu, they have a decent range from small to large.

  10. I was thinking that myself when reading last night lol. Sure this Ford Ranger crowd are trying take over the world cheesy.gif . In saying that I had

one ordered but gave up waiting and ordered the Mazda and happy now I did. We have a farm so this is a working truck and its up and down

mountains so its well tested .

My Ranger is almost back together and I won't be driving it again. trading for a Mazda.

  11. was it not easier to change the colour in the greenbook ?

    No.

Bike needs to go back to the province it is registered in to update the book with a colour change. I work here Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 5.30pm so taking the bike 3 hours away to do this is something I do not have the time to do.

Easier to change colour of bike (For me).

  12. I'm starting to get real bored of Thai food. Most restaurants usually have the same dishes on the menu. At least is Oz you have a WHOLE variety of cuisine to choose from. BUT if I had to choose one dish in particular I'd say............ Thom Saab (soup)

You're not doing it right. First of all, get away from the aircon.

Most proper "restaurants" I go to have at least a dozen sometimes 20+ closely typed pages, a greater selection than many western restaurants put together.

And mostly different dishes from each other, due to the huge variety of dishes from one region to another.

The total canon of regular NES-culture food doesn't come close!

Now I realize Australia has a huge range of different ethnic cuisines available, but suggest you broaden your range here in Thailand.

There are at least forty different dishes available just in the first few blocks along the street around the corner from my house, southern Thai, Indian, all kinds of stuff. . .

wow 20+ pages of closely typed text.... lets say 20 dishes per page that would total 400 individual dishes on the menu.

sorry but I gotta call bullshite on that.
