    Usufruct maybe?

The only way is a usafruct, however you still run the risk of the relationship going pear shaped, as the house is on her land and her mother and sister are some where in the picture they inc your then ex will want you out.

Could you continue to live there in the village alone under these circumstances, the answer must be no, however in life sometimes we have to take risks , this is a decision you have to make so good luck.

ps  I bought mine a house with a usafruct but a three hour drive away from her family.

  2. I tried to insure my furniture and personal items in a rental unit, tried two insurance companies both told me me they would not insure any jewelry, gold, or computers , phones this was after I had my house burgled whilst on holiday.

seems the insurance companies have too many false claims for I phones and such.

Seven years ago so forgot who the insurance companies were, however all you need to do is make a few phone calls.

  3. K bank did this to me too, however they banged their stamp onto the front and back of the check, I then took the check to my Bangkok bank account where I have deposited IRS refunds before only to be told they could not accept the check due to the stamps, I had to return the check to IRS in USA and have them issue me a new one.

i closed my account with k bank.

as a side note I get a private pension fund check mailed to me every month from the USA, take it to my local Bkk bank in Korat , the fee is two hundred baht and the money is in my account the following day.

long story why I don't have them send it to Bkk in NY and have it sent on to my account so don't ask.

    Another avoidable tragedy!
Regardless of why it happened, so many lives have been disrupted by this event.

I feel very sorry for the relatives of the one who lost their life, but they will get over it in time.

However, customers who lose limbs or suffer terrible scarring will have to live with that forever, not to mention the unexpected cost of medical treatment.

French motorways have a maximum speed of 130Kmph which is reduced to 120Kmph in the rain.

Thailand could consider this and introduce a speed reduction for when it rains?

At least it would be a small step forward.

Good lord do you think a posted speed restriction would change Thai driving habits, daily death on the roads here is part of daily life.

any male teacher hitting a female  student has no possible defence, then again after the cup throwing teacher  was only slapped on the wrist this low life mongrel will probably get off as well. Thailand simply has no respect for students and the teachers think they are too important to be punished. Lock the bastard up.

Sounds like he could be in for a promotion and consulting a lawyer for defan

mation seeking four million in damages.

  6. Am in Jomtien for a long weekend with gf of seven years and her niece of eleven years whom we have looked after for five years, however that is nothing to do with the post.

in a very popular restraunt on the sea front in fact the only busy restraunt on the sea front as the town is dead. This was for dinner.

The food here is great, a guy comes in with a good looking chick a quarter to a third of his age the chick is dressed quite conservatively  , lucky guy I would say.

He ordered two fried rice and chopsticks for himself, mean while he is constantly standing up looking around the restraunt as if looking for friends, after the food was served he pulls a bottle of water out of a plastic shopping bag and two straws, he then jumps up and dashes across the restraunt and comes back clutching the Bangkok post in a forked cane as one sees in hotel lobby's, he then spends all his time reading the paper eats his rice, ignoring his gf totally for about forty five minutes pays the bill and leaves, I have lived in the land of smiles now for eight years and never seen anything so cheap, taking a small bottle of water into a fairly pricy restraunt to share with a date, and so on.

    can anyone beat this ?.

  7. Been in hospital for five days plus , four times for food poisoning in seven years the first two times ate at  a very popular hotel in Nana and once at a hotel Sukhumvit, know they were guilty as both times were for lunch and seven pm started throwing up.

it really was a very dreadful and painful experience all four times, by the way the last two times street food guilty. Feel sorry for the kids but suspect it will all as per usual fade away.
